Welcome to my humble caption contest.

The activity is simple: I will post a photo
consisting of two or more beings in conversation,
exchanging looks, etc. Engaging in some
kind of communication. Your job
is to amuse eachother with silly, meaningful,
thought out or completely witty fill-ins,
stories, or narratives behind the characters' thoughts,
or what they seem to be thinking.

This activity is meant to exercise your creative writing
ability and skills. I welcome anything from a two-sentence
quote, to a full-page story. After a fair amount of entries have come in,
participants will be asked to vote twice. For their favourite
and their second favourite. The entry with the most votes
wins a prize! And then the process will be repeated.

Amy looked down at her boyfriend with a small blush creeping upon her cheeks. She always felt embarresed when he decided to randomly sit down on the curb, and now he was doing it in the pouring rain. She smiled her fake smile and pleaded with him to stand up. He complaied his legs were tired and remained sitting in his spot. Amy looked around to see if anyone was watching. She let go of the breath she didn't know she was holding when she couldn't see anyone down the street. She tugged on Devon's arm to try get him to keep moving. He finally gave in and held onto his girlfriend's hand as they walked down the street, sharing a lovers smile.

Guy: " I have no idea what I did wrong, I did everything for her. I cooked for her, cleaned, I even bought her roses! I sent her cheesy love poems, boxes of chocolates. I just don't see it. Maybe it was the fact that I always put on deep red lipstick before I kissed her. Wait, no, that couldn't be it, maybe it was the fact that I still live with my parents but I mean, how is that such a big deal? Ugh! I don't know."
Girl: "Haha, your so pathetic you almost make me smile!"

Lady: "Look, I'm sorry, but this umbrella just isn't big enough for the both of us!"
Man: *Sniffle*

The girl stood there, hiding under her umbrella; her gaze drawn to the man sitting beside her. Her thoughts had been all over the place ever since a new discovery--one that could potentially change their lives forever.

She steeled her nerves in preparation for the question that had been gnawing at her for the past few days; causing her to miss more sleep than ever before. Fixing her eyes on the man's forehead, she said, "Hey."

The man, too focused on the inside workings of his own brain, simply grunted.

The owner of the umbrella wasn't insulted, as this was what usually occurred. But this day was different, this day she was in great need of the man's undivided attention. "Dude," she said urgently, "I'm going to ask you a question, and I need you to listen carefully. Pay attention, man."

A head nearing complete baldness came up, attention split between his sometimes companion and his inner thoughts. As his eyes caught those of the girl's, something unexplainable happened--he stopped thinking of work and focused on whatever the girl was going to ask him. It has never happened before. His multi-tasking was not just occasional, it was a constant thing. But the look in his companion's eyes changed that; made him realize that the next conversation was going to be more than just a little serious.

The girl, finally having won the sitting man's attention, continued: "Okay, so . . . have you ever noticed the colors?"

He seemed confused. "What colors? What are you talking about?"

Sighing, she tried again. "The colors, man. The colors. Turn around and tell me what you see."

The man, not quite understanding, complied with her wish; and turned around. It was an iron-linked wall. There was nothing special about it. He's used this place to let his thoughts wonder many time before; and nothing has changed since the first time.

He looked at the girl again, and said, "What am I looking for, exactly?"

The umbrella holder just shook her head and gave off another sigh, this time evidently annoyed. "Dude, look at the wall. Then look at the puddle on the ground. What colors?"

He looked. They were green. The wall and the puddle both. "Okay . . . so?"

"Now look at me and you. We're black and white, man. The rain that should stain you green doesn't even stain your shirt."

At hearing this, his mind suddenly went from 0 to 120 miles per hour. His eyes took it all in. The inconsistencies, the illogical, the impossible. "We're . . . monochrome . . ."

They then just stayed there, completely silent. Thoughts nearly linked.

30 minutes later, they were still sitting here. Staring at the colors and the uncolors.

What broke them away from their thoughts was the sound of screeching tires. A minute later, a black SUV pulled up to the curb right in front of them. Three man came out. All in black suits. All with black sunglasses. And all with the same face.

Synchronized, they said, "You are the Ones."
