Welcome to Gaia! ::

Mine isn't too interesting, but my cousin's is:
"It all started with a bag of weed."
and his sequel begins with
"Now that I had my weed, it was time to get a line of coke."
Yeah. :/

^that was amazing

"Holy ********!" Mason frantically smothered the flames burning at his shirt.

"Alien cows are planning to take over the world!"

yea i start stories then never finish them...bad habit
A putrid miasma hung heavily in the bitter morning air, sticking to the living like a disease.

This one is mine. Does it make you curious?

Lucky Cat

I remember the day I heard the news, not because I found it meaningful at the time, but because it was the day I met my sister for the first time.

D;

Sparkly Lover

I could feel myself inside her.

o-o
Life is complicated.

That's it. Short, sweet, and hopefully eye catching.
I always pay the most attention to the beginning, since when I see a book, I just skim the first page. This one time I went to return a book to the library. I read the first page and I wasn't hooked, but the librarian said, "You read that? How was it? I thought is was really good. Probably one of my favorites."

Then I kind of regretted putting it back.

Anyways:

Peter watched his mother throw the plate across the table.

I'm not sure if I like this. When I started writing this story, it was just me practicing putting humor into my writing, but the line kind of gives off a serious feeling.

Jace found himself passed out on the bathroom floor.

A bit on the duller side. Again, gives off a serious tone that I don't like, and it's not very original.

Published works:
Concerning the Ars Mechanica:
"Doctor Kenneth Adlington sighed deeply, setting down his bag as he overlooked the abandoned laboratory."

The Goose Boy

"Queen Joan of Conward had two sons."

Not yet published works, none of which have titles:

"I watched the mage shoot my master."

"The headline on Jo's newspaper stated “Lincoln Denies Rumors Of Declining Third Term!”, which was certainly quite comforting."

"I was dying when they found me."
"Once Upon a Time......"

now that's a classic! The start of a story, yet where will it lead us? 3nodding

no. you tell me what's happening. you leave no room for my interest.

Arc of the Jabberwock
Chicory moved in a clockwork, Hatter never liked that.
My favourite from a book i once read~

"It was the day my grandmother exploded."
Iain Banks
The Crow Road

Timid Raider

"There was a man standing on the metal frame of Brooklyn Bridge, front to the road and back to the empty air, above one hundred and fifty feet of space, and then water."

That's the very first sentence in my prologue.

Honestly though, I like the first sentence of the first chapter better:

"Lyes looked down at the arrow sprouting from his breast in surprise."

Same character in both sentences. He 'dies' a lot.

Can you explain further so that I might remedy my mistake? What does it tell you is happening, so that you aren't interested. And why?

These might seem like stupid questions to you, but I would genuinely like to know.

I mean, you tell me what's hanging in the air, and what it's doing. It makes me look at the line and say: '...huh. Okay.' And put the book down, but I go by first paragraph and a random page in a book, so.
I'm fine, I love you, meet you at home, unlock the guns.

That's the first line of the most recent story that I'm working on. And yes, I know there's to many commas. There's a reason for that. *grin*
