You know what I love about this sheet? It will ask a normal question, like what is your character afraid of or what would be their one wish... but then the next question is - why?? That's awesome. Usually I spout off the answers, but I really don't know why they're like that... so this actually makes me think about my characters and make sure that they actually have reasons for the things they do and the way they are and so on. whee
I counter that if the character is truly complex that you would not be able to answer most of the questions at all.
Actually, for the characters In knew a lot about, I did find it hard to answer them. My answers became sort of long, because I couldn't just write out simple answers. Like, if you were doing it for yourself, then you would also need to try and explain more about the answers... they wouldn't be that simple. Some would be hard to answer. Like for my one character's main mood, I was like "well usually quite excitable, but then dips into dreary moods where she withdraws within herself, but then little things will excite her again and she'll go on a hyper rampage again" and i mean, she's like this almost every day, that is her "base" mood. So yeah, I agree... they are hard to answer simply if you know your characters, because characters, like people, are complex. But it really did help me a lot in finding out more about them. But like with everyone, there are usually some main reasons why they are like that... but of course they might not know. Like there might be some main reasons why you like the things you like, but you might not be aware of them unless you dig really dip. If you're the creator of your characters then yes, they should be complex, but as their creator, you should know why they are complex.
I agree. I'm still going to give this template a go, but a lot of it will be too complex or even inapplicable to the character. This thing reminds me more of one of those dreadful 'Tell us all about you' dating site things, than a way of fleshing out a character.

Of course, in a way, the two are the same. rolleyes

I wouldn't say (for me at least) that I Should know why. Part of the writing process is discovering new things that are born out of old things and temperament. My characters have secrets from me just as they do from each other. Personally I've been dealing with mine so long that old motivations that I attributed to them in the past have become camp and I often find that deeper motivations reveal themselves sometimes suddenly and surprisingly. Why is one person depressed about a particular thing? That is as much a mystery as it would be if I were dealing with someone living.
Damn, now that's a char sheet!^^ eek
I would be doing the character sheet right now, but I found reading the woes of Majkai & Friends more entertaining.

I accept your challenge!

Besides, this could be very useful in consolidating all of my notes on a character into one sheet.

Thus, I applaud thee.
Character's Soft spot: Aru says "Soft spot?! HAHA The only thing soft that I know of is your armor! My sword slices right through it!"

Is this spot obvious to others?: Aru says "Apparently... now that your armor is cut in two :3"
Though these aren't really for me, I think I'll fill this out for the fun of it. blaugh Thanks!
Thanks for posting, this will help me. ^_^
