Welcome to Bamboo Island! Here you will find all manner of colorful little pandas frolicking about. Watch your step, for the bamboo on this island, well...let's just say that it has one very specific magical property, shall we? Don't worry, the inhabitants are (for the most part) very friendly. Dreaded rules, eh? But society has to have them.

1. First off, stealing = bad. >> That includes lineart, pets, artwork, certs and even the idea itself. Please, for your sake and mine, don't do it.
2. Just...be nice to everyone, yeah? Me, my staff, the other customers. Everyone's just human around here (well...except the pandas XD). I will have no fighting, and no discrimination, whatever it might be based on.
3. Gaia's ToS are your guiding rules, even above mine. Please adhere to them.4. Please, no excessive quote-trees. If you must quote someone, try not to have more than three, alright?
5. Please don't beg. sweatdrop In the grand scheme of the Breedables forum, these pets aren't all that expensive. I may or may not offer a payment plan.
6. Lieing is just as bad as stealing. Please don't do that either.

Are they RP-required?
No they aren't. However, I am an avid RPer, and I appreciate others who are as well. So, people who RP on a regular basis will get special things. ^^ Isn't that nice?

So...uh...I'm just going to take my panda and go. *grins*
stare I don't think so. You don't have to RP them, but you must stop by on a regular basis so that I know you're living and your panda is well cared for! Once a week should be the minimum, but if you can't do that, please feel free to let me now. I can be flexible, I just don't want somone to take a panda and flee. And believe me, if you haven't been here in a while and you haven't told me that you'll be gone, I WILL resell your panda. Without refund.

Bamboo
This is the first stage of the bamboo, the "egg" stage, if you will. It is rather hard to tell, in this stage, exactly what the panda that "hatches" from it will be like, or even what domain it comes from. However, pay special attention to those leaves, since they will hold some hint as to what your panda will grow into.

Child
The second stage comes into play. Your little panda has now hatched, and you will have a little more idea as to just what they are. Their domain will become clear, and if you're lucky, it may even be a very special child, such as an angel, demon, or even a mixture of the two. This is the time to care for your little panda, you may even be able to influence the way they turn out in the end. (See RP section!)

Adolescent
At this point, your panda is becoming a little more independant. They don't need quite as much care as they did when they were a child, but of course, like any teenager, they warrent keeping your eye on them. It's at this point that your panda might discover some feelings heretofore unknown to them for other young pandas, but most likely won't act on them in any great way. They're still under your influence as to how they may turn out in the end, but as they are growing into their own, they will be harder to influence.

Adult
Your panda has finally reached adulthood! Good for you, you've managed to care for them thus far, and if you were an attentive owner, you've even had the opportunity to change them a little. Under most circumstances, they'll have amorous feelings towards other Pandas, and will even act on them. At this point, there is the possiblity of ickle panda babies.

It's a good idea to think of the Domains as packs, of sorts. They are also generally a guideline to your panda's personality, though it by no means defines them entirely.


Common Domains


Shyness - These pandas aren't exactly the most outgoing of sorts. They're usually kind enough, though their discomfort is occasionally masked by arrogance or impudence. Fragile to the utmost, you have to be very careful with how you handle a panda from the domain of Shyness, or else they may just transfer over to the Fear domain

Love - One of the kinder domains, pandas who come from this Domain have an endless capacity for love. At times, this can make them pushovers, and with this blessing comes a certain naive attitude. Watch out, as Love pandas can be quite fierce when someone messes with their friends and family.

Joy - The most cheerful of the pandas, pandas from the Joy domain take pleasure in all things. A good word to describe this domain is happy-go-lucky. These pandas are apt to take quite a lot of risks, and can be a little bit ditzy. However, if you're looking for a good time, it's these pandas that you want to go to.

Gentleness - Another one of the kinder domains, these pandas are certainly ones that need proctecting. They have a huge threshold for irritation and anger, and if you do manage to get them mad, you probably deserve whatever happens to you. Pandas in the Gentleness domain will usually seek out proctectors quite quickly, be it their parents or another panda altogether, and will stick close to them.

Bravery - Pandas who have the Bravery trait are just that. Brave. They don't always have the strength to back their bravery up, but they are noble beings to the core. As such, they can also be a little bit stupid. They rush into things without quite thinking them out, and will go up against opponents who far outmatch them. Nevertheless, they mean well, and are very good to have as a friend

Knowledge - These are the the booksmart ones. Pandas from the Knowledge domain are very avid learners. They are constantly observing the actions and responses of others. This, however, can make them distinctly unattached from life itself. They spend so much time watching that they don't quite know how to participate.

Strength - These pandas are very impressive in their strength. This strength is often, but not always, physical. However, there are times when the strength is mental. There is the connotation that with great strength comes no small amount of stupidity, but that is not often the case. These pandas are smart enough, though perhaps a little bit slower than most. A thing to watch out for with these ones is their tendancy to let their strength go to their heads and become bullies.

Fear - This Domain actually has two sides to it: those who are in fear and those who evoke it. Neither is particularly healthy. Those of the Shyness domain have the tendancy to revert to the former side of this domain, Strength to the latter. The Fear domain is also often linked to the rarer Demonic domain.

Anger - Anger can be a very powerful weapon and ally. It gives the user great strength, for a short time. The pandas that belong to this domain can be good allies. For a short time. However, unlike the other more suspect domains, the pandas of the Anger domain have few redeeming qualities. While they may not be - usually are not - characteristically evil, they have a hard time controlling their tempers, and will often get carried away. There may be one or two other pandas that a panda in this domain gets along with, and with each, there is usually a certain button that gets them riled up.

Pride - Being a member of the Pride domain, contrary to popular belief, isn't all that bad of a thing. In moderation. There are many things to be prideful of, some of them very helpful. However, there is the tendancy to take it too far. Pandas belonging to this Domain are often very, very courteous. More often than not, one of the things they pride themselves on are their manners. The downside to pride is that it is easily offended. You have to be careful what you say around one of these, as they will inevitably take it the wrong way.

Dance - This domain is less a personality trait than an ability. Nevertheless, Dance pandas generally have similar personalities. They are always graceful, though their personalities either tend towards serene or a little bit hyperactive. These pandas, along with the Song Domain, often travel to the other tribes to spread their art.

Song - Pandas in the Song domain don't really have a specific personality trait. They do, however, have very nice voices. Due to this, there is the vague possibility of the panda turning out vain, but this is not usually the case.

Humor - Humor Pandas are very funny. They like to tell jokes, and pull pranks on people. Not usually taken very seriously, they can have problems knowing just where the line that they should not cross is placed. However, there isn't usually any malcious intent behind their actions, just a genuine attempt to make the world a more cheerful place. Short-tempered pandas generally don't do well around these jokesters.

Creativity - Just what it sounds like. The Creativity domain is made up of pandas who are very good at thinking up ideas, whether they be artistic, scientific or philisophical. Depending on what their bent is, they are generally either fairly excentric (artists), very methodical and calm (scientists), or have very keen observation skills. They're usually interesting to be around.

Spring - Another of the more upbeat domains, Spring pandas tend to be very positive. Just as an active spring usually follows sluggish winter, so these pandas tend to be very active. Residing in the meadows of the island. While most domains do not have specific coloring tendancies, Spring - like their other seasonal counterparts - pandas tend to have a floral theme, or are colored in various shades of green. Also, because of the natural cycle of children being born in the spring, these pandas are the most family-oriented of the domains, outside of the Love domain.

Summer - Also fairly cheerful are the pandas of the Summer domain. They really only want to have fun, and have the tendancy to dislike doing any serious work. They have made enough peace with those pandas that form the Water domain so that both these domains share the territory of the beachside. Generally, these pandas are yellow, orange, or various shades of blue.

Fall - A more subdued domain, the Fall pandas commonly live in the various forests that dot the island.

Winter - withdrawn, ice/snow-colored



Elemental Domains (More Uncommon)



Water - live near lakes and beach, calming but dangerous, difficult to guess their emotions (Shades of blue)

Air - Distant, but not in a condescending way, no particular living place (Shades of light blue/white)

Fire - Live in the desert/by beach if necessary, quick to anger but also easy to appease (red, orange, yellow)

Earth - Very grounded and serious, good to rely on (greens, obviously, or brown)

Electricity - Exciting, full of energy, but dangerous (yellow, black, zigzags)

Light - Calming, healing (not allowed to be mixed with the Demonic domain)

Darkness - Distrustful, powerful (Not allowed to be mixed with the Angelic domain)

Magic - Can do magic

Angelic -

Demonic -

Halfling - Have either a domiant angelic or demonic personality, with confusing hints of the other personality showing though

God/Goddess - Powerful as all hell, one god or goddess to each domain

Raffle

- There are two possible types of raffles. They will either be free (in which case you can get one ticket, with possible ways to get a few extra) or you will pay for them (in which case, tickets will be unlimited)
- You cannot specify what number slot you want when you buy your tickets. People will be assigned numbers in the order that they buy them
- Once the raffle is over, a winner will be chosen using randomizer.org
- The use of mules in a free raffle is punishable by blacklisting if I find out
- Tickets, in case of a paying raffle, are 100g. You MAY buy for someone else, just mention this fact when you post your order
- I, or the person holding the raffle can distribute free/extra tickets as we see fit. Don't argue

Ah. Breeding. Well, when two pandas decide they'd like to pass on their genes, as it were, they venture to the forest situated in the very center of the island. Here you find a few magical clearings. We're not quite sure what goes on in these clearings - the pandas are...fairly secrative about their method of reproduction - but we do know that at the end of a certain time period, the couple emerges with a number of new bamboo sticks.

Breeding Rules:

1. Breeding is 5k, to be split any way the two owners like.
2. Send your trade to the colorist who will be doing your breeding.
3. Any type of pairing may breed. Like stated above, the workings of the clearings are very vague, but powerful. Plus? We're an openminded bunch, aren't we?
4. Breeding is one of those nifty RP perks. You can't just waltz in and decide you want two pandas to breed. They must have some sort of relationship at least 2 weeks prior to breeding. Now, they don't have to be soulmates or anything. It could be a breeding of conveniance, but even this kind of decision must be RPed.
5. There is the possiblity for the couple to have 1-6 babies. This is completely random.
6. Following common logic, a pairing of two normal-domain parents will mostly likely have a litter made up entirely of children who also fall within the normal domains. There is always the possibility for mutation, be it an elemental child, or even a rarer domain (halfling, angelic, demonic) but...this possibility is a slight one. (It does, however, get better the more interesting and well RPed the relationship is. If I think you deserve a special child, you'll get one.)
6a. An angelic/demonic pairing will most likely result in a litter of halflings, with perhaps one or two pure angelics or demonics.
7. The children will usually reflect the parents somewhat, although there may be some random colorings thrown in there.
8. As for what you can do with the children, there are many options. Obviously, you can keep them all to yourself/selves, or give away children to friends. There is also the option of selling sticks back to the store for 25% of the FS price. If you decide to auction or raffle off your childrem, please contact the shop first for approval. If you choose this option, you'll get 25% of the final price (barring a free raffle, in which case, obviously, no money changes hands).
