Welcome to my art contest! Please read the following so you know what's going on. ^_^

Mini Contest?

I originally consided doing a bigger, long term contest with much bigger prizes, and then realized that I didn't have the time or energy to really get organized enough to pull that off. ^^;; So instead I'm going to have one on a slightly smaller scale.


Contest Updates!

Prizes will be announced Saturday the 17th at 8pm EST. For the time zone challeneged, I will post tonight around when the contest is 24 hours in the future so you can do your own math. XD


Older Updates

The contest will end at 11:59pm monday the 12, eastern standard time.

I will accept the finished versions of WIP's that have been submitted before the contest end until Thursday the 15th. Then I will have enough time to integrate them into the judging. I will not accept any new entries after the end date though.

I plan to annouce the winners on Saturday the 17th. Should something come up, I will annouce them as soon as possible after that time.

:edit: I have extended the time to the 12th of September because I have been away on vacation and will be again for a bit more during the following weeks. I won't have the time to devote to the contest that I would like during that time, and would like it to end when I am free to start judging.

I think this is just long enough for people to notice the contest and have time to work on it, and for the letters I am offering to appreciate and be worth even more.

However, the time may be extended if I have a low number of submissions or if real life takes up too much of my time.

The first, second, and third prizes will be awarded no matter what. The prizes for catagories will only be awarded if suitable entries are recieved. (obviously xP)

Best Style/Funkiest: June '05 Letter

Best Panda w/leaf Avatar: March '05 letter

Bump Prize

Because I'm a busy person, I am going to offer a bump prize. At the end of the contest I will give a April '05 letter to the person with the most bumps from reasonable bumping.

Please number your bumps and do not cheat. Also, do not bump unless the thread is falling off the front page. Bumping every minute on the minute is not acceptable, and if you do so I will ask that you stop. I do not want to hog the forum with constant bumping.

What I am looking for!

This is an avatar art contest. So naturally, I am looking for avatar art.

I may add on avatars as I get this going, however to start there are a few basic avatars I am interested in getting art done of.

Please do not do art of my current avatar without asking first! I may not want art of it!

I will give details for some of them. Feel free to take creative license with these, and if needed you can omit some details. However the final art must still resemble what I am looking for. ^^;;

All of my avatars have blue-grey colored eyes. I know this doesn't show up well under the glasses.

Avatars

There are no pose guidelines included because I would like people to be creative and surprise me. Headshots, half bodies, and full bodies are all accepted for single avatars.

For couple avatars or groups I would prefer at least waist up.


Avatars with details:

Feel free to mix and match peices of each set of avatar themes. So if you see an item on one but like another design more overall, go for it. Creative license is encouraged and appreciated. ^_^

Panda eating leaf:

These avatars should be done with some variation of the panda hat chewing or eating the leaf, or with the leaf in its mouth, looking very adorable and fuzzy.



Librarian:

Think sexy librarian! Please add rose corsage, open jacket exposing the chest w/black bra, cleavage, and a dead sexy librarian look. Maybe glancing over her glasses, reading a book, chewing on a pencil. You get the idea. Smart, sexy girl in glasses.



Icy:

This avatar has more details. Please don't let that scare you off because I really love this design. You're welcome to play around, alter gold to silver, different poses and moods, however I would prefer the boot details, scarf not covering face, and cybernetic type hands not be omitted.



*add a a thin, pale gold halo

*the scarf should not cover her face, but be around
her neck and flow out down her back and to the side

*the ankle wings should be not attached but floating
off the boots, and should not be too much like fluffy
angel wings, more like they have some edge to them, more scalloped than fluffy. the same should go for the head wings. perhaps almost mechanical in feeling (only an option)

*the boots are a dark blue, not black, and should be a
military, belted style with buckles.

*the gauntlets should flow into long, icy claws on each hand. So not long fingernails, but like she has cybernetic attachments for hands that at the fingers look like claws of ice.

Colorful:


Please add rose corsage and devil horns. You can leave off the shackles if you like.




Avatars without details:

No specifics on these, so feel free to play around and use your imagination.








Avatars for Couples/Groups:

These avatars should be combined with any of my avatars above.

I would prefer only couple art of Noraboo and Adesinia, no group pictures.

However I would absolutely love group pictures with my avatar and any of the other avatars of my friends that I have provided.

Pictures of my avatar with any number of my friends, these can be fun and playful or serious and dramatic. Again, feel free to add or subtract items and details, so long as the basic essence of the avatar is intact.
