4.12.06~ Taejira was kind enough to make shading templates for me, and coloring is officially fun again!
SO, I'm reopening things and there will soon be a flatsale with two of the Furies I colored for Christmas that I never sold, plus a few on the new templates! I've only got a couple of the linearts, but let me tell you -- they look fab! xd
So anyway, things are improving, and I'm hoping to get back on the horse and get this place moving again.
I'm going to put up a poll about something I need to discuss with everyone, so answer the poll and we'll see what happens. biggrin

11.6.05-The shop is finally going off of hiatus after quite awhile. The new lineart is now in order, so expect to see some exciting things going on around here. First up, we'll have a flatsale, now scheduled for Nov. 18. I'm going to color at least 4, two males and two females, and I expect a colorist to join me in the fun.
After that, we'll have a custom auction, where you can pick and choose all the options of your Fury. Look forward to some changes around the HQ and in the guild. I will be revamping the guild to work on changes in the storyline. All journals that had been used are still there. If anyone else would like me to set up a journal, or reset-up a journal, just let me know.

11.14.04-The Furies: Chaos Children opens it's doors! biggrin

Eons ago, only two beings existed. They were the creators. They were the cause of the Universe and everything in it, all of the beautiful creations of Nature. In mere days, Mother Chaos and Father Sky created the Universe. And in that time, a small place called Gaia was formed. The two had been together for generations, and had become cranky and argumentative in their time together. But when Gaia was created, the two agreed on almost everything. But almost everything isn't all. Father Sky believed in peace and serinity, while Mother Chaos loved the traits of her own name, chaos and destruction. But in order to finish the planet, they had to come to some sort of agreement. They did come to a consensus one one thing though: justice.
So Father Sky created his beings of purity and peace, the Helion. They were creatures of light, happy to do what they could for mankind. They would watch over the world and it's people, making sure they were happy and well-cared for. They were doing the bidding of Father Sky, who wanted the same for the creatures he had created with Mother Chaos?The Humes.
The Humes were the people who lived and worked and played on Gaia. They had happy times and sad, times when things went horribly, and events that made up for all of the suffering they'd gone through. But there wouldn't have been these bad times if it hadn't been for the third group of creatures: The Furies.
Mother Chaos had agreed to let Father Sky have his own Hume protectors, as long as she could create beings who would fulfill her dreams for the Humes--suffering and chaos. The day she created her servants was the day the Humes learned of pain. She rained her Furies down from the heavens, and they created chaos wherever they went. The Helion would try to balance the suffering caused by the Furies, and life on Gaia went on, with the ups and downs that we know today.
But one fateful day, Mother Chaos lost a bet to Father Sky, and to pay off her debt, he demanded to have her Furies removed from Gaia and put into a state of suspended animation. The Furies slept for many years, hidden inside gems around Gaia. Most congregated on a beach in the far reaches of the Isle of Gambino, where the sand blew over and buried them, leaving the Furies dormant for centuries. In this time, Gaia became peaceful and life flourished without problems, because without the Furies, life was perfect.
And then, three girls came walking down the beach on vacation, enjoying the warmth of the sun bearing down upon their tanned shoulders. They had been in Gambino a very short time, but had already come to love the place. They had decided that one day, they would live there, and get away from the big city life of Durem. As they sat on the beach, looking out over the water, one of the girls spotted a bright sparkle coming from the sand. She got up and went over to the shining area, and picked up a small purple gem, shaped like a star. As soon as she picked it up, she could tell there was something strange about it. It vibrated and hummed in her hand, as if it were alive. She went to show her friends, and they stared in awe at the gem that seemed to shake and move. It was then that the other two spotted more strange shining gems in the sand. Each picked one up, and they headed back toward their beach resort, thinking of what lovely jewelry these gems would make.
Little did they know that soon, thanks to their care, these gems would come alive. They would become Furies, and Gaia would suffer once again with their wrath and vengeful justice for all.
Mother Chaos looked down from the Heavens and smiled. It was her time. And this time, she wouldn't lose her power, or her greatest creations...
...........
Only a few years later, it seemed that the Furies' powers began to weaken. They were losing their influence upon Gaia once again. Mother Chaos saw this happening, but had no ideas about how to revive her greatest creations...She was no miracle-worker after all, and perhaps it was time for the tables to turn once again. But Mother Chaos wasn't ready for a turning of the tides quite yet. She befriended one of the girls who had originally picked up the gems from the beach and distributed them--Sizzla. She was a dependable sort, and had no idea that there was a greater power making the Furies that she so willingly gave away to her friends and customers.
Mother Chaos easily slipped into the woman's dreams, giving her strange subconscious thoughts in her sleeping hours. She told her to recreate her creatures, making stronger, more chaotic beings. Sizzla was a scientist after all, and though Mother Chaos knew little of science, she knew that wonderful things could be created through the use of science.
In her waking hours, Sizzla didn't remember these dreams, but she was clearly influenced by Mother Chaos. She began to work in her lab, making the Furies stronger using DNA mutation and gene splicing. Eventually, the Furies changed, and became stronger. Males of the species sprung up as well, helping to propagate the species. All of this came from the hands of the half-fae scientist who was unknowingly working toward utter chaos.

Ok, I don't want to be all hard core about the rules, but there are some things that I find important.
1. Don't steal the art! Or the ideas or storyline, for that matter. Need I remind people of this? It's just wrong, and if you do this, I will find you. Trust me, I hear about everything. I will report you like that *snaps fingers* if I find you using this lineart elsewhere. Owners may use the images for their signatures, journals, etc, but that's it.
2. Be polite! It just makes everyone happier. I'd like for us to be one big happy family, and if everyone is polite, this should come easily. There's no reason to be rude.
3. Don't beg or whine for a Fury. There are sales and auctions for that sort of thing...We will open up customs at some point, but not yet! So don't ask. It will only get you blacklisted.
4. Please use proper grammar and spelling... at least to the best of your ability. I don't want to sit around trying to read nOOb speak and words that involve numbers and letters like thr33. I'm an editor, and I'm a**l about this. Please make an effort. I'll appreciate it.
5. The Furies are not RP-required, though we do like those of you who RP them! If you do RP, your Fury will grow faster...
6. Follow the rules. They're here for a reason. 'Nuff said.

1. Vial-After many experiments gone awry in the lab, Sizzla, Kashi and Manda finally came up with something...Could it be that life exists in a glass vial?
2. Egg-The vial breaks open to reveal an egg...But what could hatch from this strange flying creature?
3. Child-Once the egg has matured, it cracks open to reveal a small child-like creature, a Fury. The egg shell is left empty, with blank spaces where eyes, wings and a mouth used to be. The Fury child is a blank slate, ready to learn whatever it's guardian would like to teach it. This phase is integral for the Fury, because this is when they begin to learn about the world, and it's ups and downs. Their development in the child stage will help them choose their future alignment.

Flatsales
Just a couple of things about flatsales. First off, flatsales will be announced at least one day prior to the sale. They will always be held in Central Standard Time.
1. The shop account (The_Furies) will post "GO!" in big red letters. After that, please post the number of the Fury that you want. The available Furies are posted below these rules, and are numbered.
2. If you post after someone who wants the same Fury, you can choose a different Fury, but you will need to post again.
3. Once we confirm your choice, please send a trade of 5k to this account, The_Furies.
4. Once you've sent your trade, post the desired name for your Fury in the thread please.
5. Your trade will be confirmed, and I'll cert them up for you.
5. The flatsale will continue until all Furies are sold.
We'll try to have a flatsale at least once a month. Watch this post for flatsale announcements.

THE GUILD
The_Furies
The Furies are children of Chaos, and they do have some spells that do pertain to their element. These powers will be listed here:
In vial stage, they can't really do much at all. They bubble and gurgle in their vial, and that's about it. But be sure to take care of your Fury in this stage. Don't let anything get into the vial, or who knows what may happen?
In their egg stage, the Furies have a telepathic link with their guardians. They can speak to you mentally, but have the mentality of a child around toddler age. So, think SIMPLE.
They also can fly 100 ft. before having to rest, and have the ability Create Lesser Chaos, in which they can inflict some chaotic power on certain things. For example, they can tip over glasses (filled with liquid or not is your choice! icon_xd.gif), they can cause plants to wilt, etc. Just don't get too crazy with it! They can't cause too much damage to things...yet.
Some Furies may not even be mischevious, but they still have this power ready to use whenever they deem it necessary.
In their child stage, the Furies grow stronger, and they can easily speak with their guardian, and anyone else, through clear telepathy. They can also speak out loud, but sometimes prefer more secretive discussion through their mental link.
They can also fly endlessly without getting tired, having mastered the ability of flight.
Finally, they have the power to Create Chaos, which is much like Create Lesser Chaos, but on a much larger scale. Now the Furies can affect more of the world around them. NOTE: They cannot create enough chaos to cause riots or anything like that. They can just cause more trouble than they could in egg stage.
Also, Furies have the capability to breed once they have reached this stage.
Elemental Furies also have added spells and abilities, depending on their element.

Breeding is NOT open currently.
In order to breed, both Furies must be in child (final) stage. Breeding can take place between any two Furies, though a new element will never be created. A Lune male and a Circe female will create either another lune male, a star female, or a circe male or female.
Breeding is 8k, 4k from each breeding partner. The number of offspring will be rolled randomly, and breeding will produce one Fury, two Furies or perhaps even twins!

Hello! I'm Sizzla...and yes, Sizzla is my RL nickname. I'm 24, and a self-proclaimed Gaia-nerd. I joined in Oct. 2003, and at that time, there wasn't much that was appealing about Gaia. I left for about six months, pretty much forgetting about the site. But I eventually came back, and Gaia was an entirely different place.
I started out in Chatterbox...of all places, and quickly found Breedables. I've been obsessed ever since. It's really hard to get enough of pet collecting, and every time I come across a fabulous new pet, I've got to stop and rethink. Do I have time for all this?
Anyway, I ramble. The Furies opened in Dec. 04 (Almost a year ago!), and we've had our ups and downs. I hope this reincarnation will run much more smoothly.
