Announcement: Due to becoming gainfully employed, I will only be available in this thread on the weekends. I may occasionally drop by during the week, but not often. This new schedule means that ME&F work will take longer to produce. My apologies for any inconvenience this causes, but I'm sure most understand
offline is very much > online.

In A Nutshell...

What is a Fandangle?
A Fandangle is a mechanical familiar created at ME&F. From the moment they are forged, they are destined to be bonded to one particular being. Loyal to the very end, Fandangles can be excellent companions. Having powers and influence over one (or sometimes more) elements makes them very useful to have around. These mechanical familiars go through many growth stages called "evolutions", but only if interacted with on a regular basis. Fandangles are rare, and each is unique in design. This is an rp-required companion.

What is a Sprocket?
A Sprocket is an element battery for Fandangles (although they can be used for anything requiring a bit of their chosen element). They are full of mischief, and quite active. Loyal to their bonded, but especially so if their bonded to a Fandangle- these little creations can be quite a handful to have around. However, having powers and influence over their chosen element also makes them very useful to have around. They can increase their stats and powers, but only if interacted with on a regular basis. Sprockets are common, but come in a wide variety of element types. This is not an rp-required companion.

ME&F Trivia
Every day, Mon.-Fri., I'll try and post three trivia questions. The first person to answer all three correctly in this thread will receive 500 R&D Points. And now, for the rules:

  • DO NOT IM/PM/E-mail/ect. me for answers to the questions or hints.
  • One guess per person.
  • All decisions are final.
  • Seriously, don't ask me (or any ME&F staff) for hints or answers.
  • You may not reserve a post and add in the trivia answers later. You are also not allowed to edit your answer once it has been posted. Any player attempting to do so will be immediately disqualified. Please report such attempts to me via PM, or in this thread.
  • Anyone breaking the rules more than once may be permanently banned from participating in ME&F trivia.
  • If you have already won a trivia game, please consider allowing others to have a chance at winning.

Latest ME&F Trivia (500 points to the winner):

1.) Severus wears a belt made from braided hair- who is this hair from?

2.) How many points would it take to go through every evolution back-to-back and max out every basic stat (Create/Control Mutation Element; Intelligence; Ingenuity/Creativity; Dexterity; Stamina; Speed; Structure; Regeneration)?

3.) What is the name of the Fandangle that willingly assists Morningstar?

Winner: Sosiqui

Latest Bonus Round ME&F Trivia (1000 points to the winner):
These are all just opinion questions- I'll pick my favorite set of answers as the winner. ^_^

1.) How long do you think it will take Moorgahaine to return from the dead, and how do you think he will return?

2.) What do you think of the metaplot, and what sort of future metaplots would you like to see?

3.) Would you like to see occassional custom item auctions at ME&F?

Winner: Britain

Fandangle Flatsales - Currently Closed
  • Each Fandangle costs 100000g (extra gold/items offered will be counted as a tip).
  • All those applying for a flatsale spot must provide an image (drawn, not a photograph) of a gear with their offer post. Any additions (colors, accessories, structure alterations) to the gear may affect the Fandangle's appearance.
  • Flatsales are done IC, and all offer posts must be made IC (using the character you wish the Fandangle to be bonded to).
  • Item offers are accepted (unless otherwise noted), please use the Gaian Exchange Network as a price guide- mid/average values only, please.)
  • A value will be assigned to breedables/changeables/mini shop items, to be used as part of a Fandangle flatsale purchase (post in this thread or via PM to get a value for a specific breedable/changeable/mini shop item).
  • The winner will receive one Fandangle, with a maximum of 9 total evolutions (cog -> evolved cog -> armature -> evolved armature -> gizmoh -> evolved gizmoh -> mechaton -> evolved mechaton -> deus ex machina) and 9 total controller IDs. Total evolutions and controller IDs depends on total development points earned through rp, diary entries, etc.
  • Only the animal spirit and what character/avatar the Fandangle is bonded with may be chosen by the winner. All other traits are chosen by me.
  • If you want your Fandangle to evolve (or don't want to lose it due to inactivity/negative evolutions), this will be a rp-heavy breedable/changeable.
  • All Fandangle owners must abide by the Game Mechanics and shop rules.

Quest Fandangle
Don't want to wait for a flatsale? Well, here's a ridiculously expensive way to get a Fandangle at any time- Quest Fandangles. These are just like normal Fandangles- just drastically more expensive, locked against negative evolutions, and always available.

  • Each Quest Fandangle costs one million gold (extra gold/items offered will be counted as a tip).
  • All those applying for a Quest Fandangle spot must provide an image (drawn, not a photograph) of a gear with their offer post. Any additions (colors, accessories, structure alterations) to the gear may affect the Fandangle's appearance.
  • Quest Fandangles are done IC, and all offer posts must be made IC (using the character you wish the Fandangle to be bonded to).
  • Item offers are accepted (unless otherwise noted), please use the Gaian Exchange Network as a price guide- mid/average values only, please.)
  • Breedables/changeables/mini shop item values will not be allowed unless it is something truly outrageous- like a Fa'e, GMFC appointment... things of that nature. If it's something that has previously auctioned and sold for over 1 million gold, I'll probably consider it.
  • If you want your Fandangle to evolve, this will be a rp-heavy breedable/changeable. Quest Fandangles are locked against negative evolutions, so you won't have to worry about losing something you spent such an insane amount of gold on.
  • All Quest Fandangle owners must abide by the Game Mechanics and shop rules. Even obscene amounts of gold can't buy off the game mechanics.
  • If too many people get in line for this (*looks at the price and coughs*yeah, right*cough*), the price will increase.
  • Yes, you can buy someone else a Quest Fandangle, but they must come into the thread IC as the character they wish the QF to bond to after I've accepted the offer.

Evolution Gear List
Owners will be allowed one spot per waiting list (one spot per OOC person per list). This means owners must wait until the list clears to apply for a second evolution, wait until it clears again to request a third, and so on. Each owner must bring at least one gear image with them - a drawing, no photos allowed. If you choose to add details (colors, accessories, structure designs) to your gear, it may affect your evolution. All owners must apply for an evolution IC- and only when the list is open, Severus Snape (played by Austerulous) is in the shop, and they have their gear image with them.

Once your Fandangle's evolution is posted, you will need to IC place them in their controller for about an hour. Once they are removed from the controller, they will be in their new evolved form. ME&F Staff may deliver new controllers and evolutions, as long as they are marked "Ready for pick-up".

1.) Sosiqui & Biome - gear received - pick-up complete
2.) Ravija & Aionios/Soinoia - gear received - pick-up complete
3.) Cypris & Ailes - gear received - pick-up complete
4.) Xironielle & Esca - gear received - pick-up complete
5.) Linneas & Ning - gears received - pick-up complete
6.) Jerava & Laure gear received - pick-up complete
7.) Zero Dream & Wren gear received - pick-up complete
8.) Orasteele (Aureli's Guardian) & Atratus gear received - ready for pick-up
9.) Silver & Kaze no Tsuki gear received - being forged
10.) Cyrus & Aana gear received - ready for pick-up

A small, unassuming door sits nestled between two old buildings, with an odd sign reading "ME&F" hanging on it. It seems a little out of place, but otherwise absolutely mundane. It sparkles and glows in a vaguely unnatural way as you enter.

The shop is much larger on the inside, impossibly so. There are corridors and doors everywhere, stretching out like a huge hive of wood, metal, and glass. In the center stands a large circular room that every corridor and doorway attaches to. Strange creations shamble, hop, bounce, stride, slink, and crawl about the shop. Shelves line every wall, filled with general sale items and galleries of gift replicas. A patchwork of computers, bizarre tools, large furnaces, assembly lines, and an array of devices both technolgical and magical (sometimes both) are scattered throughout the room. Small monitor gadgets hover along the ceiling, darting along like metallic moths under the flickering glare of computer screens. Inventions line the storage spaces, both finished and incomplete. Some are purely mechanical, and others are a fusion of organics and machine. Several drafting tables are set up near the walls, with plans for future creations scattered along their surface.

Some doors open freely, and others disappear into the walls as soon as they are approached. A few seem playful, and like to move around the room in an odd game of tag when their doorknobs are touched. The plush carpet wiggles slightly, and it's threads move like tiny waves. Any who drop a bit of trash in the shop will find that the carpet is happy to devour such offerings, but leaves anything of value alone.

Welcome to Moorgahaine Emporium & Forge, where even the most mundane items are more than they seem.

As far as roleplay goes, Severus Snape (Gaian Name: Austerulous) is the current owner of ME&F, due to Moorgahaine dying IC.

ME&F is a mutliversal shop that exists on a nexus planet called Gealdritch. Doorways to this shop exist throughout the multiverse, and all lead to the same core shop. Customers may only exit through the door they entered, but may stay as long as they wish. (Do not use ME&F as a way to visit other dimensions or timelines, without Moorgahaine's written approval IC and OOC.)

All customers and lurkers may request membership to the Moorgahaine Emporium & Forge Guild. Post in this thread if you wish to request membership.

Anyone that watches the wiggling carpet strands long enough may note that they seem to be collecting/devouring every bit of genetic debris that fall upon them with especially keen interest.

Some customers walk directly into the main shop area, and others end up wandering through the mazes, lost for hours/days on end. If hopelessly lost, an ME&F service robot will be happy to direct you to the main shop area, or to your exit door.

Art theft, plagiarism, obnoxious OOC behavior, harrasing me about evolutions/new items/getting yourself a Fandangle, and other such unethical/immature/disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. Those found to be taking part in such activities within this thread (or in the M.E. Guild) will be banned from all Emporium locations, and reported to a Gaia moderator (if applicable).

Fandangles require at least one rp session (even a small, solo one) per month, minimum. Fandangle accessories (including sprockets) do not require any rp, and may be used for mini shop collections, signatures, or gifts (any other use must receive my written approval). All requests for R&D Points due to rp activity must be posted in the R&D/Activity/Update Reports Thread to be counted.

Using the official Game Mechanics (These affect all Sprockets and Fandangles!) is not optional. Interaction in metaplots and events is optional.

Place all orders in the ME&F Order Thread. All orders will be picked up from this page, the second page, or from the Sprocket Gallery. If you're waiting on a new Fandangle, check the Fandangle & Sprocket Owner Gallery often.

Co-owning Fandangles is not allowed. Co-owning Sprockets is fine, as long as both participants agree to it beforehand.

Where do I place my orders?

All orders must be placed in the ME&F Order Thread.

Where do I post my Fandangle's rp updates/evolution requests/stat changes/first virus charges/etc.?

All Fandangle stat changes/updates must be placed in the R&D/Activity/Update Reports Thread. All evolutions are currently on hold- do not request one.

What qualities are universal to all Fandangles?
  • Unwavering loyalty to the one they are Bonded with.
  • A chosen element (and need to be immersed in that element once a day).
  • An animal spirit (all stages).
  • A sentient soul (evolved armature and higher stages only).
  • The ability to evolve according to experiences and surroundings.
  • A wish to assist their Bonded owner in every way their personality and abilities allow for.
  • A need for interaction at least once a month (or they will suffer a negative evolution, and may eventually return to the Forge and be listed as "abandoned" wink .
  • Near indestructible, with an ability to slowly regenerate damage.

What qualities are universal to all Sprockets?
  • A strong predisposition for mischief.
  • The ability to speak in the language of their element.
  • An insatiable curiousity.
  • A starting intelligence child/a bit below average human (becomes average human after spending one week with their owner).
  • The ability to create and manipulate their own element (from minor-moderate level).
  • Unwavering loyalty to their bonded Fandangle.
  • A wish to assist their bonded Fandangle in every way their personality and abilities allow.
  • Near indestructible, with an ability to quickly regenerate damage.

What should a Fandangle owner do if they need to go on hiatus?
  • Post in this thread with a request for "stasis". Stasis lasts for no longer than three months, and may not be requested back-to-back. You must wait at least three months after the end of your last stasis to request it again. Failure to interact with your Fandangle by the end of stasis will result in a negative evolution, and may eventually cause your Fandangle to return to the Forge and be listed as "abandoned".

    OR

  • This may only be chosen if you are about to/have completely lost internet access; are being called to active military duty overseas; are suffering from a medical condition that will prevent you from being online with even minimal regularity! Anyone found to be using these reasons under false pretense will have their Fandangle removed immediately and returned to the shop. Choose a temporary owner (must be a current and active Fandangle owner), and post your request for "temporary ownership" in this thread. Temporary ownership lasts no longer than six months, and may not be requested back-to-back. You must wait at least six months after the end of your last temporary ownership to request it again. Failure to interact with your Fandangle by the end of temporary ownership will result in a negative evolution, and may eventually cause your Fandangle to return to the Forge and be listed as "abandoned". Temporary owner interaction counts as half.

Should I avoid negative evolutions?

Negative evolutions should be avoided at all costs! They can cause personality warping, mental disorders, power loss, de-evolving, physical damage, and other such depressing notions. Ultimately, two or more negative evolutions can cause a Fandangle to return to the Forge and be listed as "abandoned". To avoid getting a negative evolution- be sure to interact with your Fandangle at least once a month, and place it in stasis/temporary ownership when you go on hiatus.

How do I join in on the metaplot?

There will be a sign up sheet for each metaplot/event, and you'll need to post in this thread to request placement on it. You may participate even if you're not on the sign up sheet- but only those who sign up will receive extra Research Points for participating. Those who did not participate will have to find some way of getting metaplot/event information IC from those who did participate. Those who do participate may be able to unlock special IC evolutions, items, alterations, powers, and information- but they also take the risk of possible IC injuries, warping, disinformation, and power loss. All you need to participate in metaplots and events (other than signing up) is to own either a Fandangle or a sprocket.

Can Fandangles or Sprockets breed?

Breeding options are available only to Fandangle owners that have reached the Mechaton stage, or higher. Sprocket breeding is not open yet, but will require massive R&D points and a special kit.

What is the difference between "spirit" and "soul"?

In ME&F terms, animal spirits are the "core" of inhuman entities, and souls are the "core" of human (or human-like) entities. Both are equally strong- but only a soul can do what is needed (metaplot) for a Fandangle to reach the highest evolution stages. Spirits have a different "frequency" than souls, thus the difference.

Can I transfer a metaplot item to another character/Fandangle?

I'm afraid not. Metaplot items (like First Lights) are permanently placed in the character's inventory that was interacting at the time they were given out.

What program(s) do you use to make Fandangle, Sprockets, and other ME&F art?

Just Photoshop 7.0, a lot of time, and a fair amount of inspiration. ^_^

Do you take orders for custom items?

The only time I make custom items now is for a) ME&F contests, or b) special gifts. But I don't take orders for them anymore.

What happens if someone other than the ME&F owner or staff puts an Evolution Gear into the FSP?

It sort of... sits there. The chute won't open to allow it into the inner machine, and the Egg Bots will probably steal it for various games (like soccer).

I'm getting too bored/too busy/too uninspired with my Fandangle- can I have them part ways with their Bonded and go do their own thing?

No.

No Fandangle would chose to simply abandon/part ways with their Bonded. Even a Deus Ex Machina would still be by their Bonded's side, unless abandoned. For Fandangles, there is no such thing as "growing apart". They exist to provide companionship, assistance, and occassional aggravation for their Bonded- that always has been (and always will be) their main purpose of existing. Without their Bonded, they negatively evolve and become a mere shell of what they once were (examples: Phidias and the negative evolution of Scrap).

Even with a Finale Kit- they are still loyal to their Bonded (it just negates the rp requirement, not the Bond). That's why the first universal quality in the FAQ is "Unwavering loyalty to the one they are Bonded with." It's why "Bond" and "Bonded" are always capitalized- it's one of the most important concepts. Abandoning their Bonded would go against their main purpose and design.

If I see/hear of any Fandangle owner writing their Fandangle as abandonning their Bond, I will PM them privately and ask for clarification. If there's a good reason (the Fandangle is actually putting on an act at the Bonded's request, or some other situation where the Fandangle is not really breaking the Bond)- it's all good. If the Fandangle really is abandonning their Bond? The situation will be retconned, and the Fandangle will be listed as "abandonned" (i.e.: removed from owner).

How can Parody Fandangles be loyal if they choose to follow a new owner (rather than stay at the shop)?

Parody Fandangles are Bonded to the actual shop building. Each one has a direct connection to the shop's security network (which is basically the shop's brain). So no matter how far away they physically are, they are in constant connection and communication with their Bond.

Insert these CDs into your controller ID to download new languages, knowledges, and skills.
When placed in a controller ID, these CDs will teach your Fandangle one of four skills/knowledges/languages at level 2. All additional levels must be bought via R&D points. Each CD can teach all four listings, but not all at once. You'll need to post in this thread and let me know to update your stats as your Fandangle completes each learning session. Fandangle Familiar Mechanical Mischief Kits
5000g, +quest, +Moorgahaine approval

Finale Kit (Does Not Require A Quest- Can Not Be Reversed!) - This kit allows an owner to permanently freeze their Fandangle's evolutionary stage. Once done, that particular Fandangle will no longer have a "Last Known Activity:" section on their stats, and will no longer be required to roleplay once a month (or at all, for that matter). R&D points may be earned and spent as normal, but no further evolutionary stages may be requested. A good choice for those who want a signature companion only, or can not keep up with the once-a-month rp requirement of normal Fandangles.

Custom Appearance Kit - This kit allows an owner to completely alter their Fandangle's appearance. However, there is a chance that using this kit may create extreme vanity (if your Fandangle likes the new look) or low self esteem (if your Fandangle doesn't like the new look).

Grunge Kit - Like the rusted, decayed look- but don't want the mental and power problems that come with a negative evolution? Use this kit to give your Fandangle a broken down, scruffed up look. However, there is a chance that this kit may cause extreme aggression (if your Fandangle likes the change) or broodiness (if your Fandangle doesn't like the change). There is also a slight chance of power additions with the use of this kit.

Replication Kit - Only two (or more) Fandangles that have reached the mechaton stage or higher may use this kit! Each Fandangle using this kit contributes to the appearance, powers, and personality of the offspring. However, having more than two Fandangles use one kit may create... unexpected results.

Self-replication Kit - Only a Fandangle that has reached the mechaton stage or higher may use this kit! The lone Fandangle will contribute to all of the offspring's appearance, powers, and personality. However, using a self-replication kit may create an exact opposite of the contributing Fandangle.

Network Kit - Two or more Fandangles may create a permanent mental link by using this kit. However, Fandangles attached to a network may affect/be affected by other members of the network when it comes time to evolve.

Bonded Network Kit - A Fandangle may create a permanent telepathic link to their Bonded by using this kit. However, Fandangles may affect/be affected when it comes time to evolve.

Power Kit - Help your Fandangle gain a random new power by using this kit. Please keep in mind that use of this kit has a chance of changing a Fandangle's chosen element, and possibly rewriting their entire power set. Proceed with caution.

Mind Kit - Give your Fandangle's intelligence a boost with this kit. Please keep in mind that use of this kit has a chance of altering their personality, and possibly creating a super-genius. Proceed with caution.

Chapter One
  • An image of a bladed crown was seen on the Fandangle Press monitors, and the first Virus Fandangle was forged.
  • An unknown entity took control of the Fandangle Press, and the ME&F security network had no choice but to destroy the device and move all Fandangle forging to the Sprocket Press. This caused all Fandangles and Sprockets to go offline for approximately 1-2 hours.
  • A message from an unkown entity claiming to be the parent of all Sprockets and Fandangles was received by all Fandangles, Sprockets, and Bonded. This was not the same entity that hacked the Fandangle Press.
  • Messages from the hacker received by all Fandangles, Sprockets, and Bonded. Most were very disturbed by the messages. The hacker's name is now commonly known to be Morningstar.
  • Morningstar found a Fandangle ally, and used it to enter ME&F and destroy the first Virused Fandangle's core gem. This put many things in motion, the most obvious of which was opening one of ME&F's classified rooms to the public. Many disturbing experiments were discovered, along with the fact that every ME&F creation sends genetic samples back to the shop, to be used in various classified experiments.
  • All metaplot participants received a happy, bouncing, purring, chiming ball of joy known as a Liquid Light (or First Light).
  • Moorgahaine explained that he viewed the genetic material gathering much the same as collecting discarded junk or aluminum cans. It was revealed that some of these experiments are used to find cures for various diseases and genetic deformities across the multiverse. It was also revealed that each ME&F brochure listed details about the genetic material gathering- but Moorgahaine forgot to include a language other than Gealdritchean. The Gealdritchean language looks like stylized gears and machinery, and can easily be mistaken for design work.
  • Moorgahaine believes Morningstar is attempting to destroy the multiverse, and is now devoting all of his attention to stopping that possiblity from occuring.
  • The Cloister Bell began tolling loudly, Severus Snape (seventh year Hogwarts drop-out) returned from a long hiatus, and Moorgahaine's corpse was found nearly ripped in half in a small ME&F enclosure. His adopted son Herald saw the corpse, and was greatly traumatized.
  • It was discovered that the Cloister Bell was something that had been installed previous to Moorgahaine getting the shop. This device only rings when the multiverse is in imminent danger.
  • An odd soul that did not match Moorgahaine's was found bonded to the corpse. Strong signs of solar radiation and spirit residue where discovered all around the murder scene. One First Light was also found at the scene.
  • It was discovered that Moorgahaine was killed by Morningstar, who had manipulated the old wizard's Edelsteine jewel to kill him from the inside out.
  • Due to the difficult-to-decipher request of the soul bonded to the corpse, Moorgahaine's corpse was brought to the Rose Room. This room was found to have a scent of roses, and was filled with concentrated healing energies. Severus Snape was trapped in the room for a short time (to allow his broken jaw, courtesy of Herald, to heal), while Herald and his father's corpse were trapped there for a much longer period of time.
  • A powerful storm raged outside of ME&F, which led to several Storm Sprockets creating a smaller storm within the shop.
  • A solid hologram of Moorgahaine appeared to Severus Snape once he left the Rose Room, and let him know he was to inherit all of ME&F as the 'chosen'. A powerful magic transferred Moorgahaine's memories, powers, and part of his essence to the dour young wizard.
  • Moorgahaine's corpse turned into a being of pure energy that appeared as two siamese twins attached at the spine. This being referred to Herald as its son, spoke of the 'chosen', promised to return at a later date, and dissappeared in a shower of multicolored sparks.
  • Hundreds of Faith and Hope Sprockets answered an ernest prayer by summoning The Metatron from one of the universes ME&F connects to. This angel helped make Severus Snape's transition into becoming an immortal Gealdritchean much smoother, and then left without a trace.
  • Severus Snape accepted his new resposibilities, along with becoming the new temporary guardian of Herald. The Cloister Bell stopped making its loud tolling, and now only sounds out a soft chime.

Chapter Two
  • Severus found out he must get seven special Fandangles and Bonded in order to create a device (possibly) capable of defeating Morningstar. He placed a message on the community bulletin board asking for ME&F staff to assist in finding candidates. The elements/abilities needed are as follows:
    Time
    Space
    Power
    Soul
    Mind
    Reality
    Protection, Organization, & Focus
  • Severus chooses the winning applicants:
    Time: Sosiqui and Shangri
    Space: Xironielle and Esca
    Power: Cyrus and Aana
    Mind: Jerava and Laure
    Soul: Friskit and Samael
    Reality: Globin and Shalatame
Protection, Organization, and Focus: Ravija, Aionios, and Soinoia
  • Moorgahaine returns from the dead, in the form of two golden siamese twins with a rather djinn-like tail whisp.
  • The ME&F speakers randomly play static and odd bits and pieces from various songs.
  • Severus tells ME&F staff member Ravija that the shop security has been severely compromised, and to assemble the Seven immediately (along with one sentimental item from each Seven Bonded). He also informs her that the Seven and Morningstar should not be mentioned at all- by staff or customers, until this threat is neutralized. A device on his desk is filled with an unknown energy that is slowly depleting.
  • Severus explains to Ravija that not all Seven may survive, and that they will be in a deep sleep while being used against Morningstar. All contact with their Bonded will likely be cut off during this time period.
  • The Seven assemble.
  • A 'Welcome Home Moorgahaine' party is announced. Moorgahaine plans to attend.
  • Moorgahaine is found to have been Morningstar in disguise, and is cleaved in half by the real Moorgahaine (with an assist by Snape).
  • Light beasts flood the shop, and a massive fight breaks out. Moorgahaine and Snape get lost in the bowels of ME&F, after Snape find out Moorgahaine has amnesia.
  • Moorgahaine & Snape find their way back to familiar territory. One of the Fandangles died in the conflict against Morningstar.
  • It is discovered that Aionios & Soinoia are the departed Fandangle, and Snape delivers the bad news.
  • Herald shows Moorgahaine the Dream Experiments, and the two begin work immediately to complete the project. A bell tolls on Gealdritch.
  • Severus Snape changes his name to Sweven Austerulous, after discovering it was his birth father's name.
  • Aionios & Soinoia discover what happens to Fandangles in the afterlife.

About Moorgahaine

Moorgahaine is the owner of Moorgahaine Emporium, and creator of everything within its various halls. He used to look a bit like Terry Pratchett and Ian McKellen had a child (now aren't you glad I put that mental image in your mind?). Now days, thanks to bonding with an Edelsteine, he looks more like Malcolm McDowell had a drunken fling with a cyborg. His voice sounds like three seperate voices woven into a deep, soft tone. He is also immortal, but don't expect some loon with a sword to come for his head because of it- his immortality is the sort that ends when the multiverse ceases to exist. So, he's got a lot of time on his hands (and a slight case of attention deficit disorder to complicate such a long existance). His power level is... well, he's a Deus Ex Machina of the highest order. If you have a situation you can't get out of, he's willing to help- but only if asked. Can't go around fixing other people's problems all willy-nilly, after all (they tend to yell at you, or worship you, or curse your descendants... that sort of nonsense).

He is from Gealdritch- an odd duck of a planet that exists as a nexus to all points of space, time, and reality. Gealdritch has a very victorian steampunk flavor to it, with bits of various British science fiction and fantasy thrown in for good measure. It ranges from awfully serious to exceedingly silly- sometimes at the same place.

He's also a descendant of Xaihn, some Gealdritchean wizard that no one remembers anymore. I'm sure it's not important.

Gealdritch - A universe of a different color.

Did you know? (Gealdritch Trivial Trivia)

Gealdritcheans typically have a very dry or very absurd wit. The worst have both.

Gealdritch uses a special kind of portal for all travel (space, dimension, time, or reality), called a Dimensional Interstellar Newfangled Gateway Bugger for Arriving Travelers (D.I.N.G.B.A.T.).

Gealdritch has one governing body with countless ministries. Sort of a New World Order, but with more crazy conspiracy theories and a better benefits package.

Gealdritchean airships are often referred to as "wingdings". They earned their name when an unfortunate passenger fell off of one of the vessles, leaving a rather large ding in the wing.

Gealdritch only has one bank, "Persons Insisting Cash Nexus - aka P.A.I.N". To absolutely no one's surprise, it is run by the government.

The Gealdritchean justice branch is called "Jurried Alliance of Impartial Learneds - aka J.A.I.L".

There are approximately 1,234,987 religions on Gealdritch. The Society Keeping Erudite Peoples Truly Intellectually Copacetic - aka S.K.E.P.T.I.C. thinks they're all nutters.

Gealdritch is about ten times the size of Jupiter and has a core of volatile, but mostly harmless, gas. A common saying on Gealdritch is that ministries (and many government officials) are born in the planet's core.

During the rare occurance of war, Gealdritcheans on either side of the conflict will always take a break in hostilities for tea at noon. The only country to ever break this tradition was quickly bombed out of existance by all surrounding nations, and rightly so.

The largest guild of Gealdritchean historians is Society for Holistic Archaic Magic - aka S.H.A.M.

The most active social organization on Gealdritch is Notably Unstable Theriopods Crafting Against Society Entirely - aka N.U.T.C.A.S.E. Their activities include culture jamming, satire, flash mobs, pranks, graffiti/tagging, and occassionally getting commited to asylums for the purpose of visiting friends and family.

The largest guild of Gealdritchean dark magic practitioners is Heretical Exorcistic Xiaists - aka H.E.X.

Gealdritch has a planet-wide public transport system consisting of trains, buses, boats, and airships called "rumbuggles". A popular anagram joke for the public transport system is "Brakish Rumbuggle Overhaul Keening Exhaust Down Obscure Winding Narrows - aka B.R.O.K.E.D.O.W.N."

A "jabroclunk" is a sentient Gealdritchean typewriter that types out both voice and key-tappings. They look similar to mechanical beetles (with a keyboard concealed beneath their wings), and often have unusual personalities.

A "catbinet" is a sentient Gealdritchean organizing bin that looks like a large mechanical house cat with stubby little legs. Their back opens up to a pocket dimension with an amazing amount of storage space. One word of caution, catbinets will often stalk and pounce jabroclunks.

The most popular watch on Gealdritch is a "tickerflick". It's an amazing little pocket watch that simultaneously tells time, terrial location and star placement in the sky. For anyone who can read the entire 666 page manual, it's a very handy little gadget.

For laundry and general cleaning, Gealdritcheans use a handy device called a "splisherfluff", which both washes, dries, shines, mends, and irons any fabric or metal. A word of caution- always remember to tie down your splisherfluff prior to use. Another word of caution- while you can wash your catbinet in a splisherfluff, it's not advisable.

"Automatraptions" are Gealdritchen computers (complete with sentient A.I. hardware). "Glitchens" are Gealdritchen palmtops (also sentient, but they tend to be a bit more hyper and addlebrained).

For lighting, "blinderblinks" are the best in Gealdritchean illumination. These compact lights come complete with retractable mechanical legs, a hover pack, voice control, brightness settings, hue control, and blinking options. A word of caution- the initial brightness is always set to maximum.

A popular toy on Gealdritch is the "wowerzow!". Aside from blinking, spinning, and making the most obnoxious sounds- no one is really sure what it does, but the kids seem to like it.

Most Gealdritcheans have a "sizzlebang" in the kitchen. This sentient device looks like a large mechanical egg with a flat bottom, and is like having a portable chef. Simply program in your recipe (or use one of over a million pre-programmed recipes), pop the top, place the ingredients in, and wait five minutes. When the meal is done, you'll hear a loud "bang!". Just open the top and dinner, lunch, or breakfast is served! A word of caution- some models have been reported to spit potatoes back at the user.

Most Gealdritcheans have a "sprinkledon" shower/bath device in their bathroom. With over 1000 settings for pressure, temperature, water softener, bubble bath, bath salts, bath oils, and more- you're sure to have a relaxing experience (if you can find the right settings).

"Widgies" are the most popular plush toys on Gealdritch. These adorable creations come in an amazing variety of sizes, shapes, and designs. They have built-in, tamper-proof sentient A.I. hardware, are fully articulated, have a full range of movement, come with over 1000000 educational games, and have delightful personalities that adapt to their owner. A word of caution- widgies in the hands of unruly and rebellious children have been known to go "rogue", and encourage/participate in very bad behavior.

"Bahkabonks" are large, soft, rubber-like mallets that let out a squeak when they hit something, popular with both children and adults. Excellent for bonking some annoying person on the head.
