it was an okay trilogy. but i liked her House of Gaian trilogy alot better

*_* I love the Black Jewels Trilogy! Karla was one of my favorite characters, and I adored Saetan. It was a wonderfully written series - I seriously cried after I finished it, since I didn't want it to end. My favorite book of the trilogy is Heir to the Shadows.

I read the book and didn’t care for it much. it seem a little to dirty for my taste. I did like one character Lucivar; however, and that was the only reason I read (skimmed to parts he was in ) the book. but I don’t think I will read the next one unless I find a reason to...

Read it, loved it. blaugh Now I'm reading The Invisible Ring. I ordered that Bishop's another trilogy from online bookstore a couple of days ago, so I will read also those books some day. 3nodding

Love it!! heart Have all the House of Gaian trilogy too. Also have Invisible Ring, and I searched out a copy of the Short story When the Witchblood Blooms.

That short story made me ADORE Surreal. It's great to hear about her "other" profession... and the story gave her a lot more depth. Also love Karla. mrgreen

I've searched out Anne's website - which has some great scenes cut from Heir.

It also says she wants to work on more in this realm - I think a backstory for how Lucivar and Marian met was mentioned. ^^v

love the trilogy. have to say, my fave character is Daemon. it's a great trilogy, but i dun like her other series (or is it trilogy?) so much. i read the first one, and i wasn't very interested while i was completely addicted to Dark Jewels.

im halfway through the house of gaian, the last book in her other trilogy, and i cant put it down (exept for a bitto come on line). my question is, if i started a court guild (since i cant find one) would anyone join it?

also, about a year or so ago, when a friend of mine made me buy Daughter of the Blood, i found a webstie that used yer birthmonth to assighn jewels. has anybody seen it? i lost it.

Ann bishop is one of my all time favourite writers. The Tir Alainn trilogy was as amazing as the black jewels. It just upsets me that her books aren't as well known as they should be.

I've always enjoyed Anne's books. The dark descriptions in some of the books can actually be attributed to historical records, and how people used to torture 'witches'. To me, the Jewels trilogy was a good read. I liked the Tir Alainn books, but it took until the second one to really get me into it. I never really liked Pillars of the World.

Meh, I agree. Aiden's dark horse Minstrel made me giggle. ^_^ And I thought The House of Gaian was the best of the Tir Alainn books.

I only read the first book -- Daughter of the Blood -- and I'm aching to read the rest of the triology. It's a little weird to me how her characters were named -- but they still had stupendous development. I absolutely fell in love with Daemon. heart
