Hi! I'm Felicific, known on deviantArt as Pseudocognition! Since I’m rather proud of my made up word and the spelling frustrations it creates, it’s also the name of my shop. In this post you can read more information than you ever cared to know about me!

Felicific and Gaia:

I’ve been a member of Gaia since 8/14/2004. My interest in it wavered from year to year and eventually I abandoned it for a long period of time. I tried making a shop once a while ago, but I sucked back then and it was very unsuccessful. Maybe that’s why I left, haha. Upon entering high school, I learned that while none of my really close friends had Facebook accounts, they were all members of Gaia. So I hopped back on only to learn that art commissions on Gaia can be very profitable and fun to do. And here I am!

Felicific and Art:

I’ve been drawing since I could hold a pencil, basically. My favorite thing to draw is people and clothing. My goal in life is to be a character designer, and if you get to know me you’ll find that I customize and tweak just about everything, redesign outfits I’ve already redesigned thirty times, and rarely draw fanart. My art teachers think I’m insane. I’ve never taken a class outside of school for drawing, but I have taken classes at FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology), the local art guild for jewelry making, classes in Corning for lampworking (making molten glass into beads), and classes for 3D character modeling. The programs I use are Photoshop CS and occasionally Painter 8. I use the smallest size Wacom tablet they sell because it’s cheap, even though my monitor is so huge that one small move sends my cursor across the screen. I draw mostly in pen for reasons I don’t really understand myself, but sometimes when artists I like go through a ‘pencil’ phase I’ll pick up a mechanical pencil and go nuts. I’m really competitive with art, which I am well aware is stupid. My favorite artists are Limha Lekan, Yi Lee, Tetsuya Nomura, Akihiko Yoshida, Jo Chen, Hyung-Tae Kim, ”Neoclassic”, and deviantArt members Michelle84, JayAxer, asuka111, wen-m, satougaki, klar, and cellar-fcp.

I'm calling this shop officially closed for the school year. I'll hopefully reopen next summer. There's just no time : I'll be finishing up stuff I owe people but that's it for Gaia art until school lets out. Good god, even having dropped my pain-in-the-a** class, school has me totally booked. If you want to see more WIPs for projects (and subsequently get a better idea of why exactly slots aren't open) you can friend me on LiveJournal. Introduce yourself, and remember to comment on the public post so I know to friend you back. If you've been personally offended by the sudden unavailability in art, here's a shortened list of my current obligations: 10+ hr painting for Honors Art, 5 drawings weekly for Adv. Drawing & Painting, a buttload of writing for Hon. Short Fiction, brainercize for Hon. Physics, an hour of confusion every night from Pre-Calculus, angsting over French tests/orals/compositions (if anyone speaks french fluently (and has a grasp of "proper" grammar) and is willing to "beta" my compositions, I would be eternally grateful and draw you stuff. (I'm dead serious, if you want free art and speak French, you're getting it), Vice President-ing for Anime Club, looking at colleges, trying to deal with my newly diagnosed anxiety issues, and of course my personal art which may/may not count as portfolio art. D:

I repeat: anyone that speaks French fluently, knows the nuances of "proper" grammar, is willing to beta my compositions, and would like the occasional free doodle for your trouble, please comment or PM me!

I've gotten a few questions about when slots will open, and about bribes etc, so I'm going to lay some concrete information down: slots will not open until after Jean-Paul's auction art is done. Once it's done, I'll see what my schedule is like, but I will probably only take two or three commissions for batch three. If I don't open regular slots, which is likely, I will accept bribes. They will work like this: I'll say X number of bribe slots are open, I'll wait, and then I will choose the most attractive offers/most interesting characters out of offers that accumulate overnight or while I'm at school.

In other news, finalfantasy-xiii.net reported the following...
According to PSU, Kitase, Imaizumi, Tabata and Nomura have sat down with Famitsu recently for another interview. The Final Fantasy VII remake came up in discussion again and Famitsu was told releasing a remake is a question of timing with all of the staff currently involved in the Fabula Nova Crystallis compilation. Imaizumi also added that a new title would be announced at TGS which Playstation 3 owners should be excited about. There hasn't been any hints as to what the game might be but if it involves all of these developers it could be another Final Fantasy XIII title.

Expect ridiculous fangirling from me once the Tokyo Game Show gets underway!

I: I absolutely will not draw: porn, full-frontal nudity, detailed backgrounds.
II: No redistributing art, claiming it as your own, editing/altering the image, removing the watermark, and generally doing anything disrespectful to either me or the art itself.
III: Refrain from requesting art you wouldn't want your mom or grandmother to see.
IV: I'm best at the type of subject matter you see in my gallery on DeviantArt. If it's not there, I probably am not spectacular at it.
V: I will employ a degree of artistic interpretation unless you specifically request otherwise.
VI: I would like two or three drawings to work from if I'm drawing your OC. For Gaia avatars, a separate .jpg with the avatar in the outfit you want as well as a list of individual items equipped would be ideal.
VII: One commission slot = one character. You may not ask for multiple slots in one "batch" of commissions.
VIII: Unless you're offering a buttload of Gold or won an auction, I'm not going to take the effort to make major changes to your piece. Small things, like changing the shape of an accessory or hairstyle, is as far as I go for what is technically free art.

Restrictions on Gaia Gold Commissions:

I: Maximum 150 DPI resolution, no larger than 12 inches in height.
II: A watermark with my deviantArt address will overlap a part of the character.
III: Art may not be used for any non-Gaia related purposes. That means no LiveJournal icons, banners, website layouts etc. If there are any questions, feel free to PM me.
IV: I will not mail you the original sketch.

How to Claim a Commission Slot:

I. PM me with something about wanting a commission in the subject. If you do not at least have the word "Commission" in the subject, I will not read your PM or give you a slot. NEW: Include an image of the character or characters I can choose from, no description is necessary until you have the slot.
II. Usually I work on a first come first serve basis but if you've been lurking and I like you/your characters, you might be more likely to get a spot. I reserve the right to decline your order.
III. I will reply to your PM if you have gotten a slot.
IV. After I reply, you have 24 get back to me with information or your slot will be given to someone who I feel has been waiting patiently.

Payment:

I. Start a trade offering the total cost of your commission.
II. I will accept the trade.
III. When I'm done, I send you a cropped/low quality version of the image to prove that it's done or to see if you want any changes made.
IV. Confirm and I will send you the art.

Can/Can't/Other:

Go for it: Cute boys and girls, sexy boys and girls, girlymens, manlywimmins, muscular/athletic bodies, as much blood as you want, mechanical limbs/parts/suits, armor, wings of any type, really foldy/ruffled stuff, etc.
...No: Transformers level mech, animal faces, backgrounds, characters that look like they just walked out of a hentai game, really buff/big/thick guys like Lexaeus.
I don't want to draw (but might if you're nice/you have a cool character): 45+ years old (immortals don't count), huge boobs, traditional kimonos, anything very different from "normal" anatomy, (like, additional arms) slutty-sexy.
In case you're wondering: I like yaoi. I would love to draw your yaoi/shonen-ai character. I won't go ew if you like yuri/hentai or hate you if you don't like yaoi. I like character design. I will design an outfit for your character. I like complicated outfits/challenges. Nothing is tl;dr when it comes to having enough info about your character to draw him/her properly.

Do not PM me about commissions if they are closed, unless you intend to pay with actual money. In which case, PM away! Gaians who intend to pay in USD will AUTOMATICALLY BE GIVEN PRIORITY over those who don't. HOWEVER, you must MENTION "CASH" IN THE SUBJECT or else the same rules apply and you must pay in gold. I am not going to open your PM. If I have a ton of PMs from overnight or have not been actively adding people to the slot list, disregarding when the PMs arrived, the people paying cash will get the slots. HOWEVER, people who have already been put on the list will not be kicked off for someone paying cash. Gold may be substituted for Monthly Collectible items/envelopes at any time. Please include tektek.org average marketplace values. If the value of the item you wish to pay with inflates between the start of the trade and the completion of your image, that’s not my problem.

I will love you forever, and your art will be featured in this post!

Name: "Mute"
Age: 15

Physical: Short, between 5' 2" and 5' 5". Pale to tan, doesn't matter! His right eye is red, left is blue. Red has poor eyesight. He has shaggy chin length brown hair, with short pieces around his face. He is slightly underweight (as if he was ill), with an average build.As for musculature, he just looks like a teenage boy who runs, jumps, swims, and occasionally engages in epic battle. He is not deliberately feminine. Any femininity is a horrible error on my part. You, however, can draw him however you want!

Personality: He smiles even though he has no reason to. He's very optimistic even though he's been through a lot (that is, being an unknown person's science project) and can't communicate. It's not that he can't speak, it's that one day he woke up in tank three years older, asked someone what was going on, and they died a gruesome death involving blood pouring from every orifice of their body just from hearing his voice. He's smart and cares much more about others than he cares about himself. He can be found writing, reading, or playing handheld video games. I draw him looking badass and angry but he rarely finds reasons to be mad. Since he doesn't talk, he tries to reflect what he's thinking in his facial expressions.

Clothes: If you don't want to draw him in the outfit that I've given him (which is fine! I was going to redesign it anyway), he wears the hand-me-downs of another character not shown here named Roux. Most of his pants have holes in them at the knee and on the hem. Roux went through a shirts-with-graphics on them phase when he was Mute's height/age. Made up band shirts are awesome. It is key that all of his clothes don't fit him perfectly. If Mute has a short sleeve shirt on, you can see a lot of his wrapped bandages and some scars. He has a lot of scars. I invite you to give him many and put them wherever you think a mysterious evil jerk might cut up. The mask is a must. Any design is okay. Any stretch of scientific imagination is also okay. For example, the aqua fabric in the picture here is supposedly able to let air in/out but eliminate sound waves. I usually make the mask a peacock/greenish blue. Some of his clothes should be industrial in some way, with heavy duty zippers, rivets, reflective tape, synthetic materials, unusual colors, asymmetrical details, graphic decals, etc.

Name: Robiyn (the y does not change pronounciation)

Physical: Around 6'. Tan. His eyes are white-on-black, meaning the white part on normal eyes is black and the iris is white. His eyes are artificial/mechanic. His hairstyle is under construction, but think Dante from Devil May Cry 3 hair in an auburn color. He has a very nice muscular body but he doesn't look like he can do what he can, such punch through a wall or throw an armored guy across a room. He has what I lovingly refer to as Cheekbones of Sexytiem. Real life Robiyn would be model Dylan Cannon. Obviously I cannot do that man justice. Basically, Robiyn is eye-searingly hot not only because I can't draw bad looking people but because he really, really is.

Personality: Robiyn is a sweetheart. He doesn't like to see anyone unhappy, which means pretending he himself is happy. He's not unhappy, but he's very distracted and thinks a lot. He's preoccupied with who he is, because, like Mute, he was messed with but unlike Mute, he can't remember anything that isn't a skill or instinct (meaning he still knows language, stuff he learned in school, and how to get dressed in the morning). A good chunk of his body is mechanical or mechanically enhanced. Don't ask me how, I'm not an engineer. Call him a cyborg and I will shoot you. P.S. Aiment was the one who commissioned the mechanical stuff to be put in; if it hadn't been done Robiyn would be dead. P.P.S. He doesn't know any of this. Anyway, Robiyn loves a good fight because it's distracting, but otherwise he's all for keeping the peace.

Clothes: Long coats, leather boots and gloves, tight shirts, anything sexy. Keep in mind that Aiment gave him his first set of clothes and that woman is obsessed with poor Robiyn. The quilted leather gloves are a must. Every outfit I've had Robiyn in includes a tight black shirt with some sort of close fitting vest or zipper up thing on top. Like Mute, some of his clothes should be industrial in some way, with heavy duty zippers, rivets, reflective tape, synthetic materials, unusual colors, asymmetrical details, graphic decals, etc. Robiyn's clothes should like... define industrial. For some reason I've been putting reflectors (like you see on bicycles) on his clothes lately. I like them. Go nuts unless you want to keep the outfit(s) I put him in.

Physical: Tallish, 5' 9" with shoes on. Pale. She has naturally blonde hair, cut longer in the front tapering to just below chin-length in the back. A dyed red segment of hair frames her face. Her eyes are a rusty orange. She likes black eyeliner. A lot. She has a very athletic body which comes from the fact that she could probably break Mute in half with her bare hands. Protip: despite her ridiculous amounts of evil, she has average sized boobs.

Personality: Utter b***h. She only keeps her job in the military because to object to her methods would be suicide. She commands around ten thousand men but frequently leaves them stranded and without orders, or with vague ones, because she's bored or has better things to do than wage war. She can go from caring about something to killing it in a matter of seconds. Impulsive, bored, rich. She, however, is obsessed with Robiyn. There's more to her and their relationship than that but I'll refrain from posting a long-winded explanation. If you draw a couple picture with these two, Aiment would probably have a predatory glare or something. She wears the pants in their relationship, whatever it is >_>;

Clothes: Again with the industrial look! Aiment's outfits throughout the years have included many different materials, from leather to vinyl to cotton to whatever. Her outfits tend to have lots of open places but she never reveals too much skin. For example, her current outfit shows clevage, but that's the only skin you see besides her face and some of her legs. Her clothes are flattering but show strength, such as a tight shirt with lines that outline muscle groups. She wears pointy-toed high heeled boots. She tends to dress completly inappropriately for her environment, which is in a desert, like the heat doesn't bother her. And it doesn't.
