I would prefer if people would just let this thread die now. I, and whoever else wants to, will continue not buying MCs, but it's clear that most people who post here can't comprehend what the first post is saying, or they mention issues that have already been addressed, or they post just to shoot down this idea.
Gaia is now working on things that have been down for a while (the gift system) so I assume that it's on a better track. Though I am sad that Gaians with special characters in their names will probably have to change whenever Gaia implements the email system.

This thread has been updated due to the number of people who refuse to tell time. It was created before Lanzer's announcement about the usernames.
Here is a run down of what you need to know:
- This thread is for boycotting monthly collectible items which you would have bought from the website.
We've gotten to keep our usernames with spaces, which I was really happy about. I hope that Gaia can continue to find a new way of incorporating special characters as well.
We will continue this boycott until Gaia resolves other issues such as glitches, communication problems, and a general attitude of not caring what the users want (though they say they do). We know it's their site, but it was and is essentially built on the backs of users buying MCs, myself included.
We love Gaia, and would never want to close it down. Our aim is to only do enough "damage" to make ourselves known. We know that we won't influence the entire site. The idea is that people shouldn't be compelled to pay for bad service just because they get some pixels with internet worth, or because it might harm the website.
Lanzer posted on page 4 when he could have chosen somewhere else to post, so don't tell us that the threat of a boycott won't affect anything.
