I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and pretend it was a typing error. . .

What is your experience?

My father is an Editor and I always come and help him correct mistakes and errors. I also write my own stories and let him edit it and tell me what I did wrong and how to improve. I've been in 7 writers contests and either won 3rd or on some very lucky occasions, 1st. I haven't written a famous book yet, but I'm planning on it. (Yet, im still gangsta xd cool )
I don't mean to insult you, but your father's career isn't YOUR career. And I would also like to point out that being a writer doesn't make you an editor, either. In fact, allow me...

Anyway, becoming an editor is difficult work. You should know that, especially if your father is one. I would place your writing, as much as I've seen, at about an eleventh grade level.

If you don't have the qualifications, you shouldn't offer to be at our "survice". Yes, it's always nice to offer. As a rookie at best, however, it would behoove you to simply offer your editing services, not claim to be a real editor.

I hope this didn't turn out to be a lecture; I hate doing that. Anyway, good luck becoming a real editor!

That's good! It's great motivation. I'd recommend getting in touch with your school newspaper and watching the editor-in-chief work on an article. In most cases, that helps a lot.

Also, if you're interested, I run a once-defunct (but now active) writing, editing, and reviewing ring. I'm always looking for new members! Contact me if you're interested.
