Of the betting pool:

1. Once a bet is placed, it can't be changed - not even to add further bets!
2. All people who participate must post at least a bump in the thread!
3. When/if you receive a PM with the amount you've earned, you MUST respond within two weeks of the 'sent' date or you will not receive your winnings!
4. Bets will be taken starting from March 21st to July 7th of 2007. DO NOT SEND BETS BEFORE THEN.
5. Suggestions for the question list will be taken from the inception of this thread until one month before the pool opens!
6. The answer of "NC" or "New Character" can be given as answers for questions where you believe the answer requires the name of a character, but you believe we haven't been introduced to them yet.
7. Read the instructions on how to place your bet. It makes life easier for everyone :3

Of the thread:

1. No spam!
2. No arguing about theories - there's a sticky for that very purpose - go there!
3. Gaia ToS will be enforced!
4. No attacking/flaming anyone in the thread.
5. No quoting the posts on the first page.
6. Especially no quoting the question list!
7. Do not give answers for the question list! This isn't a quiz rolleyes (plus, bets in the thread will not be accepted)
8. Bumping is allowed - just to make this clear!
9. No posting whatsoever of any type of spoilers. DO NOT DO IT, this will result you in being blacklisted and potentially reported for spamming.

Failure to comply with the rules of the thread will result in being blacklisted! Bets will not be accepted from anyone on the blacklist and if you've placed bets you will be cut out of the betting pool and there will be no refunds!

Betting Pool Question List

Note: Pertaining to multi-part questions - if the answer to part "A" is "No", then all bets pertaining to further parts will be paid back as part of your winnings! Also, you don't have to bet on the further parts if you answer "Yes" to part "A."
Take into account that part "A" and part "B" are two seperate questions that cost 5 gold each.

Finally, if any questions presented here remain unanswered, all bets will be paid back as part of your winnings.

How to Bet

BETS ARE NO LONGER BEING ACCEPTED

Step-by-Step
1. Post in the thread
- Even a bump's okay. This way the staff can find you since we clean out our mailboxes regularly. If you want to make it on the credit list, offer questions for the list or post regularly with helpful hints. Don't try to post a list of your bets in the pool - it'll just get you blacklisted if you do it one too many times.

2. Wait until the pool opens
- The pool will open four months before the confirmed release date. This way, we don't have to worry about accidently spending Gaia Gold meant for the pool almost two years before it opens. People who attempt to PM Angel or one of the bookies with bets before that time will be blacklisted starting November 18, 2005 - no exceptions!!

3. PM one bookie (not me, Vinnie, the mule) with your bets
- They're listed under the staff post. They're the ones who take in the bets. You bet by selecting questions from the above list and posting answers to them in a PM.
There will be no discussion of why you chose that answer in the PM, or in the answer itself! An over-described bet is only going to lower your chances of winning. Just answer it and go!

Remember: 1 Question costs 5 Gold!

4. Wait until the bookie PMs you back to confirm the bet
- The bookie will be busy contacting Angel with the betting request so she can be update the ledger and the list of bets. Remember: once you send the bookie your bet, you can't attempt to change your bets in any way! This PM will give you the calculated total for your questions and a last chance to retract from the pool altogether.

5. Send a trade to the mule (Vinnie. That's me!) with the amount of gold you are contributing to the pool
- Self-explanatory - We don't do credit and if you don't do this within a month of when the bookie PMs you or when the pool closes, you'll be removed from the pool and blacklisted altogether!

TITLE THE TRADE "Harry Potter Betting Pool"

6. Wait.
- It'll take a while for the callers listed above to go through the book searching for the answers. If an answer isn't a clear cut yes or no (or name, or item), you will be paid back - the same thing will occur if no one gets that particular question right.

7. Receive confirmation PM and respond
- You'll get a PM from your bookie listing the questions you got right and wrong and a total of the gold you will receive. This will be done in intervals, with three people per bookie being paid off every week to make it easier to keep track of. The order of payoffs will be listed above! And you MUST respond to the PM so we know you're still interested!

8. Final trade
- Your bookie will send Angel the same thing s/he PMs you to confirm the bet and once Angel receives the confirmation you want your gold, she will send you a trade titled "Harry Potter Betting Pool Payoff" with the gold and possibly any items you win.

Jackpot
This will be a Harry Potter themed item set. The specific items will be decided at a later date, but here is the current rundown of items we're thinking of.

1).Wizards Wand (Confirmed - sold in Durem)
2). Witches hat (Confirmed - sold in Durem)
3). House scarf (Unknown - scarves are sold in Durem, but we have yet to find ones more approariate)
4). Lunar Cloak
5). House/Weasley sweater (Unknown - have yet to find an appropriate one)

These will go to the person with the most correct answers in addition to their gold!
