October 2nd, 2009 - The Fa'e Artist Search has ended, pending a reply from our latest invitee. We're very excited for the talent that we have coming into the shop, and appreciative of everyone who sent in an application! Also, we're asking for people to fill out a Metaplot Permission Slip detailing what they are comfortable having happen to their characters in the upcoming metaplot. Guardians, please take a look!

September 29th, 2009 - After a nightmarish time in the land of dreams, our Dream Fa'e Contest winner slept a while in Airi's glade - but has now awakened on Gaia! Congratulations, Zaoll!

September 12th, 2009 - The Dream Fa'e contest has been underway since yesterday, but another battle within dreams has been going on concurrently - and with its resolution, Laylana has grown and passed her powers to a new Fa'e! Welcome, Deidra!

November 2nd, 2009 - The night following the attack from Chaos (who has now completely barricaded the HQ), each Fa'e has a strange dream, and awakens with a written clue....

October 30th, 2009 - Chaos has attacked the bond between the Fa'e and their Guardians! It came so suddenly, so powerfully -- but why?!

October 22nd, 2009 - Prom invitations have been issued! This year, N. Devan has again taken up the mantle of hostess, inviting the Fa'e to join her aboard her new airship, the "Tilting Windmill." The theme will be Steampunk, and all Fa'e are invited to join from November 29th through December 9th (delayed until January!)

October 20th, 2009 - A strange Fa'e named Jack O Magee has turned up at the HQ. He doesn't look like much, though. Other than being a drunkard, what is this strange man supposed to be? And what brings him to the HQ, anyway?

September 17th, 2009 - After a bit of a wait, the metaplot is scheduled to start in the last week of October! Also, Fa'e Prom has been scheduled!

March 19th, 2006 - The next metaplot event will occur some time after all the currently extant Lost Children arrive! Details are forthcoming, however, be aware that part of this event will allow in-character Guardian changes. This does not mean that a Fa'e will be taken out of your OOC care; it does mean that you can switch who your Fa'e's Guardian is, ICly, to another of your characters if you wish.

This switching can be managed in either a lethal or non-lethal fashion, so if you want your current Guardian character to be killed off, we can arrange that too. wink Stay tuned...

Once upon a time, there existed beings of untold power, who could bend reality itself to their whims and desires. Their power came from Chaos and Dream. They were the Sidhe, the Dragons, the Naiads, the Ifriti and many others. But as the world took form and Men set up laws to control the chaos and survive, the powers of the Ancients diminished. They became the things of legends and fairy tales.

Here, on Gaia, where the rules of reality do not hold much sway, there is now a new hope being born. These are the Fa'e. Born from no mother, these children logically are not supposed to exist. They are usually delivered to their Guardians under most strange circumstances and very little is known about them. But it is rumored that these Fa'e are the shadows of Ancients and that, if one ever develops to its full potential, an Ancient will awaken within.

The Fa'e seem at first little more then fairy children, but they are bright and strong and learn quickly about the world. However, even on Gaia, there is not enough pure power of chaos and dream to sustain an oddity like a Fae for long, and so these beings grow up and age fast. It is up to the Guardians of the Fae, these brave Gaians who have taken on a very hard task, to make sure that their time is well spent. And just maybe some of the Fae will be able to achieve the Rebirth of an Ancient.

However, as the first Fa'e Airi once admitted, you cannot bend and break the laws of the universe without consequences, or without something getting very, very angry indeed... Airi, the first of all Fa'e, seems to have a crucial role in discovering new children and in linking them to their Guardians. For what purpose did she undertake such a task of bringing ancient powers back for a new life, for a second chance? To risk so much, it must be something very great, or very terrible... or both...

Baby: The Fa'e are reborn as babies, discovered in any number of odd places and brought fully into this world by the power of an artifact known only as the Talisman. (2nd generation Fa'e are born naturally from Fa'e mothers.) Baby Fa'e start out as helpless as any human baby, although their development is faster than humans. Guardians must care for their new Fa'e with as much care and love as they would for any baby.

Toddler: After undergoing their first quest, a Fa'e grows into a toddler! Toddlers are learning how to walk, fly, and be otherwise mobile, and learning more every day. The toddler stage is full of new explorations and discoveries. Guardians must be watchful, lest their Fa'e get into trouble!


Kid: Fa'e children are beginning to rediscover who they are, though they may not understand their rebirth completely at this point. The kid stage is marked by mental and emotional growth, great curiosity, and the beginning of the Fa'e's road to self-discovery and understanding.


Teen: The teen stage is a troublesome one, for Fa'e puberty is just as difficult and emotional as it is for humans! Fa'e teens are becoming much more self-aware of who they are and who they once were - as well as becoming aware of each other! Parenting squabbles, crushes, and mood swings are common fare for the teen.


Youth: As a youth, a Fa'e begins to truly come into their own, becoming more self-confident and mature as puberty falls behind them. This is the stage where Fa'e must make one of the most important choices of their lives: will they follow the path of the Ancient in an attempt to regain their former glory, or will they follow the path of Humanity to forge a new destiny (and family!) for themselves?

Adult [Fa'e & Human]: Fa'e on the Ancient path and Fa'e on the Human path both must go through the Adult stage. Adult Fa'e are fully matured, and those who retain their abilities are coming into the height of their power. This stage is roughly equivalent to the late 20s/early 30s for human beings.


Elder [Fa'e & Human]: Not much is known about the Elder stage at this time. Both Fa'e on the Ancient path and Fa'e on the Human path must go through this stage, although it is theorized that those who are trying to become Ancients will hit this stage of their life far quicker than those who are not. This is only a theory, however...

Ancient [Fa'e Only]: The Ancient stage is the ultimate, final stage for any Fa'e, and is only available to those Fa'e taking the Path of the Ancient - and even then, it is unsure whether every Fa'e will be able to attain this final form. Not much is known about this stage; however, many think that the Ancient Fa'e will regain the full measure of their power and station that they once held, growing into a magnificent being the equal of the gods themselves...
