This is one thing I don't get. Why does religon matter? I have once again been rejected for it, this time rather painfully by someone close. We are all people and none is better than the other. As long as you keep your mouth shut to your lover and do not try to convert them, why does it matter? This is magnifed in christanity, when you are supposed to love all and turn the other cheek.

Are you just speaking of Christianity? Or are you just speaking of Christians?

Watch my tounge? I know many Christians who accept me for me and do not try and convert me. So, you are speaking of some that you know, not all of them. There are ones who follow the Law of Agape and not what thier pastor's tell them of hell and damnation.

But if you are Christian, you're supposed to make efforts to save your spouse or significant other, if not for them, then for you. Because if you both die, there's a chance you'll be parted forever.

And you would have a hard time proving that. Now I understand the belief that you go to a place without God and the other goes to Heaven, but who is to say that the person in Heaven could not visit the one that they loved?

I can't prove it, no- but I am going off of cannonized material, and you're not. Hence, we're both using material that can't legitimately be debated with outside of theology, but mine comes from a scriptoral source.

But does that make it more knowledgable or better than my beliefs? I could easily say that I am a fifth generation spirit talker and you are not. What does that prove?

not all Christians are like that, alot of other religions are good too.
and to answer your question, religion matters, it is something for people to believe in and to hold on to. i do not believe people should be forced to convert, but that is because of a group of Christians that give them a bad name.

That thing about turning the other cheek is not about saying you don't care about getting hit, since you'll forgive him/her... It's about showing you're not afraid of getting hit.

I'm a really strong Christian, but I'll accept pretty much anyone. I don't convert my friends, but it's really nice when I can talk about my religion with a few of them.

Except for Satanists, because I don't want to mess with that kind of evil. Life is not a game.
