Having a slow day? Need a pet that can keep up? Why not give Sneeps a try? These cuddly snails come in a variety of colors and patterns and are easy to care for. They live in a very easy to maintain bottle, so easy- they practically take care of themselves! Their humble abodes are outfitted with lush vegetation; to serve as food, and as a comfortable substrate to live on. All you have to do with these little guys, is sit back, relax, and enjoy their company! And make sure to keep the salt out!

Sneeps come in 8 different colors in nature. Just what do these basic shells look like, you ask? Well, I'll show you.

Only 8 different colors though? That could get boring! Luckily, the Sneeps can be affected by eating certain exotic mushrooms. These mushrooms will result in different patterns, only 3 patterns, and their corresponding mushrooms, have been found so far. I just happen to have a few examples of these rare effects for your very eyes!

Here we have the polka-dotted shells. Only two shells have been found so far, maybe once more mushrooms are found, we'll be able to have more examples of their stunning shells.<center>

Next are the swirly shells. They're equally as rare as the polka-dotted ones.

And last, but certainly not least, the jungly shells! These were found deep in a tropical jungle off the coast of Gambino. The shells seem to mimic the markings of a snake native to the area.

Sneeps also have very different, distinguishable faces that reflect their personality. When raising the young Sneeps, how you raise them will often determine their disposition.<center>

Sneeps make themselves home in quaint, little bottles. They're a solitary species, except for in breeding season, so there is a one per bottle limit. Our researchers (and by researches, I mean me xd ) have developed 3 different homes to suit their needs. You can view the different bottles in the "Ordering" section. That's it for the basic info, now, on to the breeding! Before, Sneeps were just Sneeps, but now the can evolve, read on to find out about it!

Carramaena was being dragged through dense forest by the hand. Clasping it was a small child, about waist-high, and as energetic as can be. She bounded over roots and stones, seemingly knowing exactly where to go. Light that filtered through the canopy made shadows dance on the foliage around them. Lush, green ferns parted as they rushed through. Stumbling one time too many, Carramaena came to a halt, placed both hands on her knees, and hunched over to catch her breath. "Do we have to rush?" she panted, "They'll still be there in 10 minutes, right?" With an exasperated sigh, the child grabbed her hand once again and began tugging her. "Oh, alright! Let's go!" The child smiled and continued to lead her through winding, barely discernable paths.

Finally, after what seemed to be an eternity in the jungle, they arrived at a clearing in the forest. Pausing to catch her breath once more, Carramaena took in the surroundings. At the center of the clearing, water bubbled from the ground and began to flow slightly south. A faint, purple glow seemed to hover above where the water emerged. It was twilight now, and the setting sun made everything have an almost preternatural glow. The greens were more vibrant than anything she had ever seen before; the water, more crystal clear and inviting.

Gathered 'round the water were dozens upon dozens of Sneeps. Their heads were bowed down in concentration, completely unaware of the intruders. They were so still, so silent, that the entire scene seemed to be frozen in time. Carramaena looked to the small child who had brought her here, with a questioning gaze, not daring to speak - lest she break the eerie silence. She just looked up, smiled, and squeezed Carramaena's hand reassuringly. She then approached the gathering, and sat down amongst the Sneeps. Patting the ground next to her, she invited Carramaena to join her and her kin.

You see, this child was no normal child. She had delicately curled antenna emerging from her head on either side, large, blushed cheeks adorned her face, and a spiral-shaped shell was on her back. She was a Sneeple, and very much akin to the Sneeps surrounding her. She also bore a striking resemblance to Carramaena, and all other humans. She had medium length, blond hair that glistened in the sunlight. She had five fingers, five toes, and everything else a normal, human child should have.

Elyria, as the child was called, raised a finger to her lips to signal Carramaena to remain silent. She motioned for Carramaena to follow suit, and then bowed her head like the Sneeps surrounding them. With the entire congregation's head bowed, no one noticed a fine mist, aglow with the purple light, forming above the water. The mist grew into a roughly human shape, billowing and twisting in a slight breeze. An outstretched hand seemed to emerge from the mist, solidify, and touch Elyria on the chin, gently raising her face up.

Elyria opened her eyes and gazed up at the mist and whispered the name 'Venia.' Slowly, Carramaena looked up and opened her eyes to see the mist become a solid, female human figure. She was draped in a sheath of pure white fabric, upon which the mist seemed to cling and dance. The dying sunlight, caught by each droplet, refracted into a myriad of sparkling colours. Her hair, waving slightly in the breeze, was a silvery blond and hung down to well below her navel. She wore a peaceful countenance, with the corners of her mouth upturned slightly in a bemused grin at the awestruck Carramaena.

"Hello child," the words seemed smooth and delicate as they left her mouth, "I see you've changed," she said, smiling at Elyria. Elyria nodded enthusiastically and smiled back, "Yep! Thanks to you!" "How did she-" Carramaena began to ask, but was cut off by Venia. "Here child, let me explain," she said while stepping down from above the stream, and settling down next to Carramaena and Elyria. She delicately smoothed out her dress and began.

"This island Elyria brought you to is called Lentinsula. It is the birthplace of the Sneeps. Millenia ago, the snails living on this island were cut off from the evolutionary path of other snails. Isolated, they began to grow and adapt to the environment here. They became more intelligent, quick-witted, and developed a culture, of sorts, and what you humans call feelings. However, despite those advancements, they still retained the appearances of their ancestors." she paused for a smile. "As you know, snails are not very strong, they can't fight for and defend what's rightfully theirs. That's why I sent the Sneeps this." she stopped once more to clasp her hands together, a soft golden light began to glow from between her interlocked fingers. Just as soon as it has started, it began to dim, and as Venia unfolded her hands, a beautiful, pale flower lay in her hands. "Hey! That's the flower I found in my Sneeps bottle!" she exclaimed. "Correct," replied Venia, handing the flower to Carramaena, "Take this, treat it well. Help it flourish so that this plant will not die out, but grow to be many in number." Nodding slowly, taking it all in, Carramaena replied, "But why..?" Venia laughed, "Why isn't it obvious? Just look at your Sneep, Fluffy! He's getting quite big now, isn't he? This flower is very special, it makes the Sneeps change into what Elyria here is, a Sneeple. This way, they can defend what's theirs." Carramaena looked puzzled, "Defend against what?"

"A ship heading north from the Isle de Gambino, as you call it, was carrying some cargo onboard. It ran into a patch of rough weather, and some of its cargo was lost to the sea. One particular crate contained an animal, the Ke'alla. They managed to swim to the shores of Lentinsula, and make this their new home. They're pretty harmless really, except for their appetites, that is. They've been eating the Sneeps out of house and home. The Ke'alla are so ravenous, that should their appetites remain unbridled, soon the Sneeps will be without food. That's why I sent the flower, Sneeps need to be able to stop the Ke'alla. Do I want them to be hurt? No, not at all," she said with a firm nod of her head. "I'm quite confident that the Ke'alla can be tamed," she said as she rose from her seat on the earth and smoothed her dress once more. "Promise me you'll help the Sneeps survive, Carramaena, you and your friends. Help spread the flower I gave to you, let the Sneeps grow like Elyria here has. Promise me that." Carramaena nodded solemnly, "I will, I promise you I'll do everything I can."

Venia smiled and turned towards the water, stepping onto the surface. Her foot, on contact with the water, was circled 'round by a fine mist, that swept up and around her body, engulfing her entirely. A faint breeze blew threw the clearing, dispelling the mist. Venia was gone.

Carramaena rose, shivering slightly from the breeze, "Okay," she murmured, "We can do this." She grasped Elyria's hand firmly and turned toward the path that they had taken to get here, which now appeared much, much longer than it had on the way here. They were in for quite a journey.

And so I took up the task of protecting the flower. Eventually, my own Sneep, Fluffy grew to become a Sneeple as well. With hard work and dedication, I'm sure many more will follow. Due to the rarity of the flowers, I will only let those who are worth have them. You must give your Sneep attention and love for him to evolve. If you feel your Sneep is ready to take this step in his life, ask me about it. I will be selling the flowers for 5,000 gold, to cover the cost of fertilizer and keeping my green house warm. wink

Carramaena peered into the dense jungle. "I don't see any of these Ke'alla critters," she muttered, kicking some dirt, "How can they be such a threat if we can't even find them?" "They're there, don't worry, they're just very skittish, and hide really well," Elyria said, parting some plants and peering through them. A slight rustling noise, barely audible above the general chatter of the forest, was heard just above their heads.

Carramaena looked sharply up and saw the elusive Ke'alla. They were small, about as big as a house cat. They had fluffy tails, and large, round ears, tufted with fur. The Ke'alla turned its head to the side curiously, then darted out of view. "Wow, for an invader, he's pretty cute, eh?" Carramaena grinned, nudging Elyria. Elyria just scrunched up her nose at Carramaena and replied, "I guess."

"So now that we've seen the little buggers, how do we catch them? They're so skittish! If catching them will be this hard, just imaging taming the buggers!" Carramaena groaned. "To be honest, I don't know how we're going to do this," Elyria said, rubbing her head, "I guess we'll just have to do this by trial and error, eh? Let's get started!"

Once you manage to find and tame a Ke'alla, they will remain loyal to your Sneeple, they'll even accompany them wherever they go! We know that these furry little guys are gluttons, so to tame them, let's try appeasing their tummies, shall we? I imagined to snap a few pictures of them, take a look.

So, you like the idea of having your own baby Sneeps to look after? Good! Here's the place to find out all about breeding. But remember, you must roleplay your Sneep courting another in order for them to be eligible for breeding!

The breeding process is actually very easy. All the owners have to do, is drop off their Sneeps at the breeding facility (this thread) and we'll take care of the rest. The female and male are placed into a breeding bottle together. Once the female Sneep lays her eggs, and the male fertilizes them, the eggs are removed from the bottle and placed into their own tiny bottle. Each mating will yield anywhere from 2 to 5 eggs. These are then given back to the owners, who will raise them untill they hatch. Which takes about 2-4 days. Unfortunately, they can't stay in their tiny bottles for long. About a week or two after they are hatched, they are big enough, and old enough to move into their own bottle. A tough decision awaits the owners. They can choose to keep the offspring, and purchase bottles for all of the babies. Or they can simply give them back to the facility, for re-distribution to hopeful Sneep owners. The latter is recommended, to spread new shell patterns and colorations. You don't have to give all of the offspring to the facility, you will probably want to keep one of your own little Sneeps! How the eggs are divided between the owners of the parent snails is entirely up to them, I just need to see agreement from both parties posted in this thread.

On the Info page, you learned about the different types of mushrooms, and their effects on the shells of the Sneeps. However, I did not go into much detail about what colors they will be, I will do that here.

The color of the offspring depend on the colors of the parents, obviously. If you mate a red Sneep, with a purple Sneep, without either parent having a patterned shell, the babies will have a 50/50 chance of being either color. It's completely random, and you could end up with all reds, or all purple. Luckily, explorers have been searching in different forests in hopes of finding a mushroom that will force certain colors on all of the offspring.

When mating Sneeps who have patterned shells, the effects are a bit different. Say the mother has a red and purple swirly shell, and the father has a green and blue polka dotted shell. The offspring have a chance of picking up either trait, swirly or polka dot, and any of the 4 colors. It's all completely random, so I'm sure the combinations will be a nice suprise!

The eggs are small, spherical, and the color of their future shell. Should you ever be exploring the woods, and come across a mushroom, use this picture as a reference!

Number 1 is the polka dot mushroom, number two is the swirly mushroom, and number 3 is the jungly mushroom. The eggs preceding the mushrooms are just your basic colored eggs.

All that was said about combining shell colors in Sneeps is true for Sneeples. However, Sneeples and Sneeps may not breed! As children, Sneeples can not breed, you must wait until they are a teenager or adult to breed Sneeples. The price of breeding Sneeples has yet to be confirmed, we'll cross that bridge when we get to it, k? whee

Breeding Prices!</center>
</center>Breeding will cost a flat-out 1,000g. This figure includes the price of the tiny bottles the offspring are housed in, and only those! Not the larger ones! If the owners decide to keep all the eggs for themselves, they will be required to pay the additional fee for the adult bottles. It may seem pricey, but I hate setting up the bottles, so basically you're paying for my time ^_^;; If the owners of the babies would like them to be sold, auctioned, or flatsold, they can talk to me about pricing. They, of course, will get a split of the profit since they paid for the breeding. Each cut on profit will depend on how much the sneep is sold for, how much money they put into it, etc. It's all a "we'll see" kind of deal. I hope this clear some stuff up for you all!

Should you purchase Sneeps from a flat sale, or breed them yourselves. I will need to know certain things about how your want your Sneep and it's home to look. You can choose from 3 different bottles, any straw color, and a variety of foliage and rocks.

This pop bottle, bottle 1, is the most expensive, costing 600g, it is the most luxurious, and it is sure to please your Sneep! You can choose any straw color you wish, the color change is included in the 600g fee. Please specify when ordering!

The next step down from the above bottle, is bottle 2, the Jar! This one is an affordable 450g. The lid of this jar is also customizable, you may pick any color you desire, the cost is included in the 450g fee! Please specify when ordering!

Don't have that much money to spend, or want your snail to have a nice, simple home? Then this aquarium-like bottle, bottle 3, is the right one for you, costing only 300g, it won't put a dent in your pocket. The lid of this tank is also customizable, you may pick any color you desire, the cost is included in the 300g fee! Please specify when ordering!

Left and right side bean sprouts cost 75g each. Tall left side bean sprouts are 100g each. Left and right side large rocks are 25g each. Small rocks, in any position are 15g each.
You will need to specify which plants, and in what quanitity you want to order when giving specifications for your purchased flat sale Sneep, or when purchasing a bottle for your offspring. Please put the number of each item you wish to order, you can have up to 2 bean sprouts, 1 large bean sprout, 1 large rock, and up to 3 small rocks per bottle.

You also can purchase flowers to put in your Sneeps bottle, they come in these colors shown, from left to right: red, orange, yellow, blue, turqoise, purple and pink. You can have a maximum of 2 per bottle, they cost 100g.

You can now also order two different kinds of tulips and a daffodil, available only in the colors shown for now. They also cost 100g each, and you can have up to 2 per bottle.

Flowering ground cover is available in the following colors for only 50g each: red, orange, yellow, blue, turqoise, purple and pink. Each plant comes in a cluster of two, so the two right next to eachother count as one plant for 50g.

You can get your tag in any of these colors, the cost is free, just specify which you would like. From left to right, the tag colors are: red, orange, yellow, light green, dark green, turqoise, blue, purple and pink.

You will also need to let me know a few more things. First off, and it's very important, you will need to let me know what face number (refer to the above image, on the info page) you wish your sneep to have. Secondly, you must name your sneep! Your Sneep's name, gender, date of birth, owner, and mate will appear on it's tag. The gender of your sneep appears next to the words 'Mate:' on it's tag. You may choose your Sneeps gender. It's date of birth is the day it hatches out of it's egg. Just be sure to let me know once your sneep finds a mate, so that I may alter the tag!

Important Note: Even though when you receive your snail egg, it comes in a small bottle, you must specify which larger bottle you want to order for when it matures. You wouldn't want him cramped in there because I don't know what bottle to give him!

Another note: Please, please, please send the trade over as soon as you post your order and it is confirmed. Make sure to tally up the cost of the bottle, accessories, etc! Thanks!

One more note: You must buy the snail and bottle seperately! A snail egg sells for 600g. And a bottle costs between 300-600g. So you're looking at about a 1k figure. Sorry for the confusion in the thread earlier, I will try to correct my error here! xd

Originally, I set up this donation section to help earn money for my mini wings quest, now that I have achieved them, I have a new goal in mind, the ever coveted panda hat! Donations are greatly appreciated, but not expected! If you do donate to me, I've come up with a bit of a reward system, to show my gratitude. It's like the real Gaia donation system, if you donate 500g, or upwards, I will send you a donation letter. What's sort of things are in the letters? Well, so far I have a bunch of headgears for the snails made, and scarves. I won't reveal which letter holds which item, it will be a suprise ^_^! This is a list of the rules I've decided to lay down, whether you like them or not, you must obey them. They are subject to change, and I'm sure I will come up some new ones. With that said, on with the rules!

1. You may not, under any circumstance, use any of the images that I've created for any purpose, without my permission. You may rotate my image, and combine it in a collage, even shrink it down if you want, which I do not recommend, since it is pixel art, and would cause it to blue and distort. The point? DON'T STEAL MY ART!

2. You may not resell any Sneep, even if it is the result of one of your breedings, all transactions regarding Sneeps must go through me.

3. No form of rude behavior, flaming, or any of that crap will be tolerated.

4. Your adult Sneep must live in a large-sized bottle, you must order this when placing your order from a flat sale or breeding!

5. You may not buy a swirly, polka dot, or jungly egg directly from me (unless you bribe me via PM with a lot of money, Haha, I wish xd )
All special effect eggs must be the result of an owner breeding his or her Sneep with another, and then giving any extras back to the breeding program.

6. You may keep your excess offspring, provided you buy them each their own large bottle!

7. If you bought a basic colored Sneep, and bred it to get a special effect one, you may switch bottles with the original, and return it's ownership to me if you wish to just have the special one. This is frowned upon though, since your poor little Sneep will be missing his Mommy or Daddy. crying

8. I will be hosting the image of your Sneep untill it reaches it's adult stage. Once it does, you have to host it on your own server. If you can't find one, let me know and we can work something out.

9. Chatting in the thread is encourage. I want this place to be a nice place for people to visit and make friends. So place, chat as much as you want!

10. Again, please don't steal my art, this means you, Mallow_cup. stare

Well, I put alot of time and work into Sneeps, and I would love to see my hardwork bring in some gold for me. I feel the prices are fair, and if they were too high, people wouldn't buy them, right?

User Image Why can't I resell the Sneeps I breed?
I want all Sneeps to go through me to control which ones are being produced, who's owning them, etc. Breeding is not a requirement, if you don't want to breed, you don't have to! It's an expensive process, and you should only consider it if you can fund your baby Sneeps!

User Image Can I just buy the bottle first and then buy the decorations later?
Yes, you may. You can always add decorations later, or upgrade bottles. Just post in the thread with your new request. 3nodding The price of switching is included in the decorations and bottles cost.

Nope, sorry. There was a bit of confusion regarding this one. You must purchase the bottle and Sneep seperately!

Yes, and so are Sneeples. Although not as strict, they just don't prefer meat at all. Sweets are always good though. heart

User Image How long do I have to wait to make my Sneep a Sneeple?
There is no set time, it all depends on how much you RP.

User Image How do you pronounce _______?
Sneeps is pronounced like it looks, nothing tricky. Sneeples, think "sneep people," snee-pulls. Ke'alla is pronounce "kay-allah." Lentinsula is a combination of the french word 'lent,' meaning slow, and the latin word 'insula,' meaning island. To pronounce it, say "lawn-tin-su-lah."

Well, you just have to role play you and your sneep trying to catch one. You have to do it several times, be creative, it won't work on the first try. Once you do catch one, it'll appear on the tag with the sneeple.

User Image Can Sneeps or Sneeples talk?
Sneeples can talk to humans just fine. 3nodding Just like we can talk to sneeps, and they have an understanding of what we say, Sneeples can as well. However, the Sneeps cannot reply back. Sneeps just can't talk to anyone, poor guys. They can relay feelings and emotions with their actions, and noises to convey emotions, but that's about it. Sneeples are more in tuned to Sneeps, so they have a better understanding of what they feel. So yeah, if you're still confused, just ask in the thread!

Up until November 2004, it has been done entirely by me. I've enlisted the help of Friday_Dora, she'll answer questions and help with RP monitoring. Also, credit for all adult and teenage forms of the Sneeples lineart goes to Caoilte.

User Image Is each sneeple custom drawn?
Sort of, I have basic poses for each gender and age. Right now, I have 1 male child and 1 female child pose, 2 teenage male poses and 2 teenage female poses, and finally 2 adult male poses and 2 female adult poses. I draw a custom outfit and hairstyle for every sneeple based on one of the poses above. I'm going to try an add as many new poses as possible, to add some variety!
