Twilight Saga Hot-Topics forum is here for discussion about Twilight (the
movies/
characters/
books). However sometimes threads that don't relate to Twilight may end up here.
Don't panic! There is a simple solution to the problem. Inside each thread is a
Report Topic button (found at the top and the bottom of every page). If you click the button and fill out the report form, you can bring the topic to Gaia's attention. After you've reported the topic you can leave it and go chat about Twilight in another thread. A moderator will come and take a look at the topic and see what needs to be done.
What you should never do with a non-Twilight/spam topic is replying to it. It may seem like a good idea at the time (you can just correct the user). However, just like kicking a pebble at the top of a mountain seems harmless; replying can avalanche the topic out of control. When you reply to a topic it also bumps the topic back to the top of the forum. By posting in the thread, it appears at the top of the forum where more people see it and come to reply. If a spam/misplaced thread is constantly bumped to the top of the forum, it means a legitimate thread is not.
Please remember to report threads instead of replying to them - by bumping a spam thread, you are contributing to the spam! Report it, leave it, ignore it and it will drop from view as well as be handled by Gaia. Replying to topics that don't belong create more problems than they solve. It creates a type of spam that is self-perpetuating; if one person spams to tell off the thread creator, several other people will also post the same thing.
This also applies to replying to threads telling people to "GTFO" or similar.
It is never appropriate to tell someone to "gtfo" or leave the forum (use the report button instead!) or to abuse the thread creator. Abuse is not something Gaia wants or tolerates, and anyone abusing or flaming people for misplacing threads should have their post reported (preferably by the person being flamed).
This forum is here for everyone, so please help keep the Twilight Saga forum fun for everyone! Report misplaced threads and don't post in them!
