CULTURE
Firstly this must be said. ALL Dukuuluuukuuuushuuuuun adore the feet. It is the most precious part of the body. It is what enables one to walk about and carry on through the day.
Playing 'footsies' with someone is the ultimate act of love.
And because of the feet, and the five toes on each foot Dukuuluuukuuuushuuuuun prefer to do things in five to honor the feet.
Northern ;;
Southern ;;
Weather ,, The southern hemisphere has sand too! Only, it's golden because of massive amounts of sunlight. Whatever sun the North lacks, the South gains. Temperature is very sweet closer to the north, a constant mid-sixty (F) degrees with a few light winds. Travel further South and it only increases. Rain come often further up, but tropical storms are more prevailent amoung the coastlines.
Housing ,, The villagers live in huts, very much similiar to yurts. Families paint crests all along the fabric of the outersides. The Southern people are very ornate in their use of paints and beadwork. Glassblowing is also popular.
Diet ,, Their diet consists mainly of fruits, corn, fish, and nuts. On special occasions meat. They drink the milk of the coconuts variebly spread along the shore.
Terrain ,, It is mostly filled with sand, with patches of grass, tall palm trees, a wide assortment of ferns and an endless display of rainbow coloured flowers. A few rolling hills, but mostly flat.
Dress ,,The dress is just as colourful. Dress mainly consists of four pieces of fabric: a scarf to wrap around the bustline, a front flap as well as a back on the lower half, and another which serves as a belt to hold the flaps together. That is the main dress. Accessories are held in high approval here. Villagers are often decked out in numerous piercings, headdresses, hair pin, necklaces, body jewely, and anklets made from twine, metal, shell, and glass.
Coming of Age ,, At fifteen children become adults. They design their oen crest, which patterns their house as well as their clothing. It is then that you also may date and start an apprenticeship.
Courting ,, Do you notice how I didn't say bracelets up above? Well that's because, at the age of fifteen, children design their own set of bracelets as well as their own crests. These bracelets are given to their crushes, in hopes they will enjoy the gift and return to thank them and start a relationship. All sexualities embraced, marriage is used only for political purposes.
Schooling ,, There is no true schooling, until your coming of age, when the priest decided what career you're best set out for, then you are placed under a master to serve for about two and a half years.
Religion ,, Southerners honor the Gods of the Sky, Water, and Fire. There are three mini temples alongside Gilepsiiee. Banquets are held during the seasons: Winter for the Night, Spring for the Water, Summer for Sun, and Autumn for Fire.
