Towering stacks of tombs created a scenic skyline in a small room. A single window on one of the walls provided the natural rays of light to brighten the room. This stream of sun started its track on the opposite wall and ticked its way down to now shine on a pile of books in the middle of the room. Stagnant air allowed dust particles to stand still as if time was on hold within this tight space. Suddenly there a gentle rustle in one of the larger piles of already toppled books. The shaking increased rapidly until a lanky form burst from the heap while gasping for breath.

                                                                      CRASH BOOM BANG SMACK CRASH

Wispy white hair clung to pale skin due to the humid atmosphere, and transparent wings fluttered pitifully as the figure struggled to take in the air once more. After a moment, having gathered the ability to breathe back, the ghostly face slowly stood up, books and papers falling aside as they did so. Molten gold eyes scanned the cramped room, then turned to gaze at the small window.

“I forgot to eat again,” Khion said to himself, his voice rough from disuse and lacking hydration.

This hopeless researcher had been up for about seventy- two hours working on a theory and finding evidence sifting through documents he had been able to obtain. He had finally passed out from exhaustion late last night after finding a deep contradiction that to the theory that tore it to shreds.

Khion looked at the scattered notes around him with a deep pout. “Such a waste.”

Stumbling, Khion waded his way through the pillars of knowledge. Seemingly halfway to the single door of the room, he reached down and from the debris picked up a travelers satchel. Smirking, the Unseelie dug around in the bag, but quickly a frown was grown. It seems his reserves of food had been used up at some point, probably in the first twenty-four hours of his latest research being. He was never good at rationing while preoccupied with a book.

“Looks like I am going to have to buy in bulk.” Khion mumbled as he planned out what he was going to need, as well as how much it would cost. A deep rumble echoed throughout the room, cutting off his mental tangent.

“First though, it seems I should consume in bulk.” He wondered in amazement at the violent sound he had just produced.

Continuing his trek through the hazardous terrain, he finally reached the door. A quarter circle section of the floor was visible, as the door opened inward, a path needed to be clear for its swing. Miraculously he had managed to keep it that way in his haze of study.

Pulling open the door unleashed a gust of fresh air into the room, disturbing the presently floating dust. Shivering he exited out into the halls of the Lab.

This was his new home after leaving the biles of the merchants guild in Va Ailth he had stayed for the last fifty or so years. Before that, it was a shed outside his parent's abode in Eeania. Though that ended a decade after his maturity into adulthood, when they kicked him out to learn how to be productive to society.

Hence why he wandered down to Va Ailth in its formative years and stayed ever since. He had a job and good place to sleep, so there productive. Take that mother.

It had gotten boring, however, in the last decade as he had read everything he had found, and bookkeeping was extremely repetitive, so no entertainment there. When word of the Treaty of Caytelle and Red Wind had reached him, which was very quick given his information gathering skills, his boredom was fixed.

After that it was a simple ‘see ya’ to the chaps in charge, gathering the pay he never used, and traveling to the encampment. Khion had arrived about a year after it had formed, having gotten distracted along the way too often.

So, now here he was, perusing the square, off to find food, living the life of knowledge. Best days ever. Minus the doom bringing fog not too far off.

'Now where to go get food from..'
Khion thought dazedly, not really paying attention as he walked, shoulders slouched, hands in pockets,

                                                                      ════════════════════════════════════════

                  ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━xxxxx
                  XXXXXXXXXXX

Gleaming blade met gleaming blades as a hysterical giggle echoed off the brick walls. There in the dark back alley, two figures could be seen clashing together and quickly breaking apart, only to repeat these actions again. Mud flying up and spattering the damp walls at each impact. The fighters, far from clean, as their clothes were drenched and caked with gross substances. The one that giggled was a head shorter than her opponent, forest locks of hair swaying with each of her movements. Honey orbs glowing in her excitement as she watched her opponent closely. Curved blades encircled her hands as she held her chakrams by their center, ready to twirl about in a slice at a moment's call. The ones peeking out of her sleeves, that adorned her wrists, ready to be propelled at any moment as well.

With a huff and puff, a hand of surrendered was raised as its owner leaned over to catch his breath. Kaimar, the green haired women pouted. It always ended before it got to the best part. Though the best part usually involved blood and lots of it, so it was understandable people backed out beforehand. Kaimar never understood it though.

“Our agreement?” She asked uninterested, crossing her arms and shifting to stand with most her weight on one foot. Pose completely bored and done with this interaction, now that the fighting was cut short.

                  “I’ll join..”
the young man huffed, getting his breathing under control. “..the group. Consider me recruited.” He breathed deep, settling himself. “Just leave me be for a while. Please?” He begged, standing at his full high and pouting to Kaimar.

“Fine.” She sighed. Turning around, twirling her chakrams, Lullaby and Amnesia, headed to the opening of the alley. “Just make sure you show up” And with that, she marched out into the streets. No one turning to mention that she looked very akin to a drowned cat, as most anyone daring to go out during or after a magical storm, wouldn’t care.

Kicking a poor defenseless pebble in her way, Kaimar pouted. Here she was on a special mission, ordered by her dear Emperor, one that seemed tailor fit for her. Go Recruit some strong individuals, ‘convince’ them to join a task force he needed. Simple, and violence was permitted, perfect it seemed.

Then why was she so bored and done with it?

She had been given a list of suggested targets, but she was free to pick up anyone who seemed promising, they would look through closely later if necessary.Snorting, she thought of the moment when she was tasked with her...task.

”Dear girl, go find capable people. They don't need to be able to command anything, just follow orders. You know the type. I trust you can complete the mission. Now shoo I have things to do."

Yeah, that summed up her meeting with their ruler quite well, perhaps with a bit of ad-libbing, but it turned out the same.
Suddenly, Kaimar stopped. Raising her head she took a deep whiff. Seems there was a large fire going on, means someone was stupid enough to leave some magical fire going. When would these idiots learn? Put out the burning blue thing when you see purple s**t in the sky! Groaning she jumped up on some crates, and the vaulted up to some rickety roof, that didn’t seem like it could hold her, but did.

Following her nose, she pinpointed that it was coming from the Eastern District, mighty close to her own turf. That was concerning. Especially as she could see some orange glow reflecting off buildings not too far away. Means it was too close to their families Northern domain then she was comfortable with.

Spinning, she hung her head over the side of the building, the edge that made up another ally connecting to streets. In doing so her head was right in front of a stern-looking man shrouded in black. It was one of the tails her father put on her whenever she went out. It was cute how worried he got about her.

“Milo, do send one of the other goons off to make sure that father is aware of what is going on at the edge of our borders. He probably knows about it, but just in case. He wouldn’t want the Easterns problem becoming ours if it spreads.” and with that she pulled herself back up to look at the emergency going on off in the distance, smiling as she heard Milo follow her orders.

Now that she was fulling paying attention, she could hear the pandemonium going on over there. Calls for help, or loved ones, screams, crashing, breaking. Quite the party. One she wanted to join but knew she wouldn’t be there to be of use. There was also the mission she just HAD to finish, as it was an order from the top.

‘Hold on!’ she thought, catching herself mid-thought. ‘There are people needing help. That means heroic wanna-be’s will show up.’ and these shining examples of goodness were just the kinda people she was looking for. Kaimar could also think of a few she knew off the top of her head.

There was that Ari…...As...Ami...Ai...yes! Aislor...no Asilin! Yeah, the redhead chick. She seemed the save-the-day type if she was nearby. Kaimar had seen her fight a few times in a bar as well, that was fun. So she was a good potential recruit. Her pet, Art or whatever his name was, seemed pretty skilled as well. So she might even get two for one. There was the Oz guy too, he might show up. Give or take on that one, she hadn’t seen him for awhile.

Teacher Seiverial though! He sometimes felt the need to save people, and if he was out of his lair doing something, he might stop by. She hadn't seen him for so long, what if he was still grimm looking? She would definitely need to get a smile out of him. Now that she was thinking of him, she wondered if he would be on this task forces as well. He was so knowledgeable, and dealt with the Emperor a lot….maybe.

                  Oh she was excited now.

Back to giggling, she hopped down off the roof and started running off to where she smelt the ash and cooked people. At the very least she might be able to piss off some people by not helping.

"you know you want to keep on believing
what your open eyes have been seeing
as you cower long before the dawn
all your darkest nightmares have been coming true
real survivors, strength undying
stabbing backs and always lying
those who survive till the end are the winners
fairness is just an illusion
secret hunter, creeping toward you
worldly whispers, tries to warn you
sharpening claws on emergency exits
tell me where is tomorrow?

XXXX Lightly stained lips, almost looking like a natural gloss, parted slowly in a mighty yawn. Slender pale arms reached up above their owners head, becoming visible as the robe covering them slid down to bunch at the equally soft colored elbows. Small wrists were locked by the opposing hands, then dropped down onto the pastel lavender head of heart below them. The muffled “thump” sounded oddly loud in the almost empty stone room, the only occupant being the petite seemingly young adult that had just stretched so uncouthly. Sliding deeper into the green wingback chair that she resided in, the wee beauty glanced at her with glazed and tired eyes. The violet orbs took in her surroundings.

XXXXA small parlor with a masterfully crafted white stone fireplace, various shades of green upholstered the couches and chairs about the room. Brown's and other earthly tones made up the curtains and other furniture needed to complete the room. And metal fixtures, such as knobs and lighting, were pure gold or iron. Anaed, the name of this timeless woman, glanced down to her lap was a book rested open on her stomach. It was bound in black leather, gold and bronze buckles and clasps cover it decoratively with no real purpose than aesthetics.

XXXXSighing, Anaed dropped her hands from their resting place on her head to pick up the book, then proceed to carelessly toss it to a couch across the room from her. Seemingly caring nothing for the obviously ancient work it was. And she didn’t. Anaed had read this book at least a handful of times if not more, while nice it was still immensely lacking. So what if she damaged the handwritten works of old masters, she would just flawlessly recopy it as if nothing happened.

XXXX‘hmm, maybe that would be something to do? I haven’t messed with my calligraphy in awhile….’ the woman thought to herself but shook her head as she sat back up properly in her chair, beginning to speak to the room as if a companion. “Never mind, King Krauss might not like me scraping his entire library, just to hand write them again, just because I’m bored. Then again, maybe he would understand, he is a fair bit older than me….a fair fair fair bit.”

XXXXGlancing around again, Anaed huffed and stood up, her lavender tails falling down her chest smoothly, as if she harder been crumpled in a chair for hours napping. The heavy storm outside blasting against the aged glass of the three grand windows lining the wall behind her. This gave her silhouette an eerie unearthly form, revealing her true self in a metaphoric way.“Time to see if there is any fresh food around, I feel a bit peckish” and with that, she precedes out to a grand hall that was one of the many corridors it his even grander castle.

XXXXWondering her way through mazes of corridors and stairs, the tiny four foot eleven vampire found her way to the main hall. Connecting the entryway, main parlors, smoke, and gathering rooms. Taking a breath, a scent caught her primal senses attention. Following the smell like a hunting hound, Anaed found her way to the living room that Maverick, that bitten vampire, seems to greet ‘guests’ in.

XXXXSneering she walked closer so she could smell and hear a bit to see what was going on. There were three beings in the room, two vampires, and a….human? ‘A female at that, how pleasant.’ Anaed thought sarcastically to herself. She hated female humans the most, so cringy and frail. She could never understand why King Krauss liked them so much, ‘fairer sex’ as he called them. Weak cattle is what she called them.

XXXXStills seems they have a human guest, Maverick greeted them like the creepy hostess she enjoyed playing, and the king decided he wanted to play too. Looks like they were having fun. Too bad she wanted nothing to do with any of that or she might have finally found her entertainment.

XXXXTurning away she decided to go see if she could find a male snack tucked away somewhere. That was her preference was, conquering and draining a male that precisely though they were top of the world hierarchy in all way. Physically, mentally, capability. Laughing softly to herself she walked out to the main hall's entryway.

XXXXNow to the dungeons on her right, or forward to the meat shack outside.

"How do I balance loving you and not loving you? The scales always tip one way or the other. I can't maintain equilibrium. I'm not even sure if I want to? "

═════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

                                                                        User Image

Devi had been watching the slowly aligning celestial bodies for some time, avoiding her feelings of impending doom as the time of prophecy ticked closer. As the goddess of energy, she had felt the shifts in magics almost immediately, and it had hit her the hardest when it started disappearing from their realm. She had been among the first, if not the first, to leave their immortal plane, the drain and hurt quickly becoming too much. When the very essence around you was actively being stripped away, it was surprisingly painful to anyone in direct contact with it. Though she had stayed as long as she could, both not wanting to alarm anyone to the severity of the situation and not wanting to appear weak. She was one of the original gods born to what she was, how could she act carelessly, especially in the situation of the losing control of her own domain.

She no longer had many if any believers, but she could still vaguely see blurs of images if she truly wished, as even if they didn’t believe they were still impacted by her blessings. As it dampened her mood to see them though, she had stopped peaking long ago.

So, Devi escaped to her hovel in Eridanus. Well, hovel was a relative term, as the place was only lackluster compared to her true homes grandness, otherwise, it was spectacular. A reaching watch tower of impressive height, surrounded by forest, a water wheel turning with the rivers flow at the base. Libraries, studies, astrological domes, as well as tea rooms and gardens were locked away inside, despite its seeming size. At the top, her view was far-reaching in every direction, past even the walls of their kingdom.

Now, on the week of true alignment, Devi had been procrastinating by rearranging her entire study. Millions of books with new places to go, no time to think of unnecessary things. The servants under her services watched from the sidelines nervously, knowing how touchy she was about things and their places. Puer, the little mammal creature she had found in her forest, injured, a few years ago. Nursing it back to health she decided she like his company and kept him. Devi always loved nature and how it found the balance it the oddest of ways. Anyway, this strange creature was curled up by a window, watching her with amusement as she ran about here and there in a concealed panic.

Now, after a few days of trying to avoid it, the day finally came. The Goddess of Equuqeus was heading down the pure white path toward the pearly gates of their kingdom on the mortal realm. It wasn’t so much the day she was dreading, but having to be wedded to a mortal. Intermittently she would story to thinking about what they could be like, but she would quickly gather herself. Mortals on principle were ungrateful, greedy, and forgetful, and now she would have to live with one in union. Of course, there were some that have redeeming qualities, but they were so few of them, what did it matter? Like her fate would allow her to meet the one out of millions in such a preordained moment.

                                                                        Jingle...Clink...Jingle...Clank…

The gold adornments on her crown, ears, neck, wrists, and necked ankles jostled as she came to a sudden stop just a ways away from the gleaming gates. The ghostly stark path she had been following leading her on still more. Down a ways more, a dark form of a stead could be seen, as well as the flickering form that looks her a moment to recognize. Vanas, God of Ixion. The immortal that was once mortal. Devi had sadly forgotten about this child.

                                                                        ‘Poor thing’
she thought, deciding to stay where she was, not really ready to interact just yet. ‘ I remember the talk of him being some cold-blooded monster after he took over, I wonder if that is still a thing?’

She, of course, could see through such rumors. As one who observes balance itself, she could see the golden scales of his very being when she gazed upon him. If he was true as black-hearted as the rumors said, then the white feather of truth would have been flung up by how quickly his scales tipped. Now, it only quivered down and back up, showing how uncertain he was inside, despite his stoic appearance.

Devi had always been unsure about how to deal with him after his forceful take over from his predecessor. Not due to how he did so, violence was a part of life, and if he lost the other would be there still, that's how things worked. No, it was the still mortal feel he had to him, despite becoming a god. Now the feeling had greatly lessened, though he still minutely had the feeling to her. Perhaps she could interact with him more, he was probably lonely, if only to complain about their new shared issues. Though maybe he was excited about this whole prophecy thing.

Well, at least she now she had an internal dilemma to deal with while she awaited her troubles, distracting her again from what she wished not to think of.

                                                          ....squeak...crunch...clank…creak...crunch...

Large wooden wheels, made of high-quality yew, rolled across stone tiling. The spokes inside the circle were inlaid with golds, silvers, and gems, appearing much like a snowflake. The stones on the ground made up the main road that had been followed for the past three hours or so. Before that, the gleaming carriage had traveled across dirt paths and mountain ledges.

                                                          ...creak...crunch...squeak...crunch...creak…

Within this cage of white wood, an interior made of an array of blues and silver. Upholstered couch benches and cushions, a small table was placed in the middle of the two, kept in place by an introductory carved leg bolted to the carpeted floor. Thick azure curtains covered the windows, with pearly tassels at their sides, ready for when the owner wished to bring light into the coach.

                                                          ...clank...crunch...creak...squeak...creak…

This structure showcased the finest craftsmanship of the Isinn Kingdom. Carpenters, trailers, metalworkers, artists, and so forth. They all came together to make this masterpiece when the news had spread that their eldest princess was going off to be married for their benefits. It was both farewell gif and a reminder of her homeland for later. Said princess was currently dozing on one of the finely upholstered benches.

Gently curled white hair cushioned the beautiful frosty pale face as it laid unflatteringly on the wall of the carriage. Blue tinted lips, looking as if glossed by ice but still retaining a lively pink hue, hung open as soundless snores were breathed. Princess Khione was reclining sideways on the bench, head resting on the corner where the bench met the wall, her shoulders rolled slightly forward so that transparent wings, with intricately swirling patterns, could flutter freely in her sleep. One leg propped up on the couch, but the other had fallen to the floor some time ago.

Across the small compartment from her highness, an older woman sat looking on with an expression of fond exasperation. She looked about twice the age of Khione, with deep black hair pulled up neatly into a bun. Glacial blue eyes soft and warm as she watched her charge. This was Aura, the most trusted handmaiden of the Gwyllion family. She had help care for King Noreasis when he was a child, so her apparent age was mighty deceptive as the king hadn’t had children of his own until well into his hundreds. It was this fact of her long services and closeness with the family that Boreasis instructed her to look after his daughter. He knew it would be hard on Khione, no matter how willing she was to help her people and would need someone in her corner. Thus, Aura was assigned and went happily.

She had watched this child grow as well, and felt a second mother to her. She may now only be there to talk to, care for the personal possessions, and handle the dressing, but she would stand by this dear child's side till her end.

                                                          ...thump...flutter...flutter...groan...rustle…

Suddenly, after a larger than usual bump, those slick wings quivered and Khione groaned while trying to bury her head into the wall.

“Princess?” Aura gently asked in an almost whisper, knowing the young women need to get up soon, but not willing to disturb her.

Glazed white orbs appeared between slow blinks as their owner regained consciousness. Soon they sharpened back to awareness as they took in their surrounding then finally settled on Aura.

                                                          “Are we there yet?"
Khione spoke without a hint of the grogginess one usually had when they just awoke.

“Almost, Princess, we have reached Shira and are now heading to the palace to be received.” Aura answered in hushed awe knowing the women in front of her was not yet quite awake, seeing as she had not bothered to sit up. Though Aura truly did love hearing this child speak, the talent of songcraft she had been gifted with carried many a blessing.

Our Princess hummed in thought, absently lifting a hand to peak past the curtain in front of her face. Crowds could be seen on the edge of the road, milling about the shops and homes. Many turning to look in confusion at the oddly out of place carriage rolling down their roads. Off in the distance, a grand castle could be seen. Their destination and the beginning of her unavoidable fate.

Sighing with resignation, Khione dropped her hand, pulling her body up to sit right. Lifting her thin pale arms she worked out the kinks in her spine with a stretch. Twisting to do so in the small compartment they were in, wings flapping slowly to work themselves out as well.

“I suppose we should open up the curtains, get used to the new view.” she said as she settled back properly.

Aura nodded tightly and began pulling and tieing the curtains up so that the late morning sun could stream in. Khione went to help, but the glare shot at her by the maid made her back down quickly. Right, she had to act like a princess here, manners and duties different from her home. When all the windows were uncovered, sunbeams shined in at all angles. Reaching out her ghostly hand, Khione observed how the light warmed her hand instantly.

‘So different from Isinn, was even on a sunny day there was no warmth to be found.’ She thought mournfully., already missing the cold.

Aura, noticing the mood Khione was exhibiting now that they were so close to their destination, knew she needed to do something.

“Princess, we have at least half an hour, how about we play a game?” she offered.

The princess quickly glanced up a cruel smirk on her lips.

“If you're prepared to lose again, I don’t mind. How about we finish our card game from earlier?”

Aura gulped but nodded. Gathering the deck, she started laying the cards on the small table between them. Anything to make the princess feel better.

                                                          ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿• Time Passes • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ┿ • ╃

Two large horses pulled the winter carriage through the large gates leading to the front of the castle. Both a glowing white, with silvery hair for their main and fluffy about their hooves. Ice crystals jingled about their bit and bridles. Small feathered wings rested on their back, relaxed, as they focused on their job. These northern pegusi too were a gift to the princess from the Isinn beastmasters, whom raised and trained these beauties.

The equestrian duo pulled around to rest in front of the grand stairs leading up to the entrance of the castle. Four guards on horseback following behind, positioning themselves at each corner protectively. These a gift from her Uncle Jax, a general of their army back home, and brother of her mother. The coachman jumped down, giving a single pat to each of the horses before going to open the carriage door for his passenger.

“We have arrived, Princess.” His voice deep as he spoke. Black horns curling from his head of equally black hair, a bit of grey nipping at the tips.

“Excellent. Thank you, Thomas.” The gentle voice from inside was heard, before the white vision of beauty stepped down out of the carriage.

“Make sure Ghost and Phantom are well cared for. Also, reward them for their hard work on this journey." Khione said, looking fondly at her steeds. “Oh, and the horses of my guards as well. I know they look after them, but I want to spoil them a bit.” She laughed lightly, accepting the coachman's nod and bow awkwardly, before turning back to face the grandness in front of her.

Aura stepped out and behind her to the left, holding the carrying case filled with the princesses most personal effects. She knew the princess was hiding her nerves and wished she could do more to reassure her it would turn out fine.

‘Time to meet my fate head-on, I suppose. Whatever that may be.’ Khione thought resigned.

XXXXBang. Crash. Thud. Sounds echoed through out the small cottage that sat serenely surrounded by bright foliage, enhanced by the evening sun. This calm was broken by a small purple haired girl stumbling out of the home, glaring behind her as she exited. It was completely the houses fault that she had stumbled over that small thing on the floor, run into a table, and fell to the floor. Yes, the homes fault. And so she preceded off the porch, letting the door slam back to its frame, then descended the stairs off said porch. But of course not in the normal, healthy way. Head first flailing as she tripped once again. Groaning, Aiken picked herself up, sitting down, legs crossed under her as she rubbed at her head. "How can this day be this bad? I swear, a hundred times today alone I've tripped, fallen, what have 'ya!" Thinking back, she couldn't come up with a reason for her horrible luck, perhaps she should perform a blessing to get rid of it? It was a plan, when she got around to it.

XXXX Standing, she brushed off the soil from her rabbit hoodie, then moved onto her legs. Stretching after, she worked out some small aches that she received from the fall. Glancing around she couldn't help but smile, her garden was so beautiful. She would definitely have to dance around in it tonight. Nodding to herself, agreeing with that wonderful idea she proceeded to exit her property. But it was at this time she started wondering what she should do. Perhaps take a walk around the graveyard, her wonderful domain of the dead? But she sees it everyday, maybe somewhere else? Oh there was that pirate ship that washed ashore, she could take a peak around! But that was so boring by oneself. "Oooh! How boring! Why can't someone jsut die so I can do some work!" The small girl stopped walking to stomp her foot, acting like the petulant child she seemed to look.

XXXXHuffing she crossed her arms in thought. her twin tails of lavender hair swayed in the summer breeze, along side the long rabbit ears that hung from the hood she wasn't wearing. Too warm to do that right now, but it was perfect for winter. Almost white eyes glared down at the ground as her mind raced with ideas. Perhaps she could collect herbs, for that blessing she was planning, she needed clean water as well. Perhaps she could get some of that sweet, to fairies, water from the bar? Normally she gathered it from the spring in her fairy home, but there was a mineral deposit that was starting to enter the water. It wasn't bad, like human water, but it wouldn't do for a spell.

XXXXAs soon as humans crossed her mind she growled inhumanly, sharp teeth showing momentarily. Dirty, dirty humans, contaminating wonderful earth and her gifts. "Riamh d'fhéadfadh go mbeadh go leor de do dhaoine a dhéanamh ar leath-a leagan síos. Is féidir leat go léir bás ó do ghníomhartha impure féin!" The old tongue of Gaelic slipped from her as she burned in memories. But she quickly shook herself from counting down the road of discourteous, unloyal humans. They embodied everything she hated, and wanted as little to do with them as she could. But for some reason many others of her face held out hope that some of them might chance, or hung onto the few that held good qualities. Sighing, Aiken returned to walking, clearing her thoughts of negativity.

XXXXGasping she stopped a second time. The library! She suddenly realized she forgot all the ingredients of the blessing she would need. She could of course go back home for it, but she needed to get out of the house, and this was the perfect excuse. Smiling, she began to skip off in the direction of the library. She had a plan again.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXDecisions were points in time where the course of a person's life could go one way or another. And it was a dire choice like this that stood monumentally overbearing before an average height green haired maiden. It was the beginning on turn, a bright Monday morning, and here the kitsune woman stood before her closet. She needed to finish putting her cosplay together for the day. Izumuri wanted to make a large impact on her students today, seeing as it was the start of a great new term, and there was the new incoming students she had to welcome. The choices were staggering for what she could wear. Of course there was her favorite, a ninja, or her second favorite, a shrine maiden. But maybe those were too over used, maybe something she hadn't worn in awhile. A knight? A nun? ohh, maybe a thief!? Sighing, Izumuri sagged on to her closet door. She just went full circle. First days were always nerve racking for her. So maybe something normal to keep her even a bit calmer.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXperking up she nodded to herself. "Alright! Ninja it is, classic and safe...well relatively. Now fox ninja is returning, but what colors. Orange? Blue?" The tailed girl standing in only her towel scanned the large open closet with her cat like red eyes. "Oh! I can use the ruffled ones to make a new kind of ninja! Haha!" And with that cry of triumph, Izumuri gathered the clothes in a rushed storm of blurring fabric. A minute later she was fully dressed and in character. Smirking she started to walk over to her desk, where she had left her work related things, stuff that she would need to take with her to the school. But as she took that step, 'something' flashed in front of her and caused her to fall flat on her face with a SMASH! CLATTER! BANG! Groaning, Izumuri sat up rubbing her head, glancing behind her she hissed in irritation. She tripped over nothing again. Well, at least it was in the privacy of her own home.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXGroaning once more, Izumuri struggled to get to her feet and staggered over to her desk, grabbing her stuff. Growling she started stomping out of her house. Once she was out side, she took a deep breath, calming herself with breathing exercises. Opening her eyes, that she had just realized she had closed, a smile returning tho her lips. Now, on to the school!

═════════════════════

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXNot long later, Izumuri made it to the school grounds, thankfully because she didn't live that far away. Spotting all the students appearing and wondering around made her start beaming even more. She loved this school, and the students. One of her ears started twitching , and her fluffy tail started swaying back and forth showing her joy. Humming she started making her way to the main building.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXBut as she walked, her pace slowed. Thinking, she couldn't remember anything she really needed to do till the second morning class, as she taught 3rd years today at 10. And the Newspaper Club, that she was in charge of wasn't meeting till Wednesday. "The day has just started, and I'm already a lost ninja!" Her cry of anguish drew quite a few stares from the students nearby, but those who recognized her as the crazy teacher with an otaku problem quickly turned to look in the apposite direction. Glancing around again she smiled sheepishly before starting her walk again, deciding to just wander till she thought of something.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX As she was walking she had heard the softest of sounds, her ears flicked and turned, but she paid little mind to it as there were students about here and there. "A lost ninja are you? You look more like a lost puppy to me... Or rather, a fox I suppose." A voice said suddenly, causing Izumuri to jump slightly. Her tail straightened and raised defensively, ears shot up. But she quickly relaxed, acting as if nothing happened. Turning to face the speaker she had to pause and blink.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXIt was male, she thought, he had very sharp features and had the haunting red eyes she did, well aside from the cat like pupil. He looked like a vampire, actually. He seemed familiar but she couldn't put her finger on where. But taking another glance at his attire she was starting to get excited. Was he cosplaying too? Has she found an eternal friend of Otaku joy?! But then she caught up with what he said, she pouted. Puppy? Really? She didn't act like a puppy! Well...most times.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXShe would have replied but he had gone on talking. Maybe he like his own voice. "I do hope you remember me, though we've only met with each other briefly in the past. Izumuri Genkuro was your name if I recall correctly." Well that wasn't creepy sounding or anything, but it was friendly, and she did vaguely remember him, kinda. He was really into his vampire character. her tail swayed."I hope you don't mind my prying, but I couldn't help but overhear your declaration from not to long ago. Though I don't think I'm the only one who did. Where were you heading? Perhaps I could guide you in the right direction? If you've no where to be Miss Genkuro, I'd be happy to have some company."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXSeeing that he was done, she beamed, her fangs showing with how wide she grinned. He was so helpful, unknowingly pawning himself off as her entertainment till teaching students, or whatever popped up next."Why thank you! And yes, I'm Izumuri, you can just call me Izu. I'm aware my name is a tongue twister sometimes." Here she glanced around sheepishly. " I have to admit that I'm not lost or nothing. Just...wandering the path of unfilled time? Bored? I don't have a class to teach 'til 10, and my club isn't going on till Wensday..."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXHer long, fluffy tail started swaying again, picking up momentum, her ear twitched too. The joyful smile returning. " You really okay with wasting time with me? Don't you have something to do.....er.." Grounding she rubbed her head. " I know it, darn it! That guy ahead of me... Icho something, Icha?Ichi?" She growled in frustration, then stared at Vampire guy. " I will get this..."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXIzumuri was glad that Ichiyo didn't get tiffed that she had just jumped into that. She turned back to fully face the two, her fox features returning to natural pose, and going back to their natural positions as she watched their interactions. Ichi seemed be having a conversation with himself over what to do with her. Cleaning up with a toothbrush, that was harsh, but able to be done. But, he moved on to maybe detentions, but no apparently she wouldn't even show up to those. "No, the worst punishment for this little firecracker would be to do nothing at all. You should work on your insults dear, they've not come very far since last year. Keep this up, and you'll bore me even more next year... And the year after that, and the year after that, and even the year after that. In fact, keep this up and you'll likely never graduate, and then we can be best friends forever."Ichiyo finished with another chuckle.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX'Ouch.' was all Izumuri could think. Stepping forward she was about to suggest something, but Elanore desired to jump in before she could. "Well, maybe if you weren't so ******** busy trying to spot all the things I do wrong, and instead ask me what is wrong with you would understand why I am such a 'child'" Izumuri's ears started to wilt slightly, something tugging in her as the girl spoke. There was something she was missing, and she wasn't liking it.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXIchi seemed concerned about something, and started moving closer to her. Izu glanced at him wondering what it was. And then something seemed to dampen the air, and the girls's bag shot out at Izumuri. The Japanese teacher slightly crouched, ready to jump out of the way, but it was handled by Ichi. He caught the bad, making a loud sound at the impact. "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry...I really didn't mean to almost hit you, I was just... why should I even bothering explaining what happened its not like your going to believe me anyways."

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXThat really made Izumuri concerned, she wasn't a guidance councilor or anything, but she could sense major problems here. Ichiyo seemed to off on the student in return having little sympathy for the situation. Very fitting for his appearance, she guessed. He handed her bag back over, he stated an extra charge for aggression on a teacher. He turned to Izumuri with a playful look, making her tail wag for a second. She loved playing games."So what do you think her punishment should be? I was thinking of grounding her from leaving the school grounds for a week. Does that sound good to you, Izumuri?"

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXHumming in thought Izumuri considered all the recent events, and then nodded to herself. "Perfect." Looking into the eyes of the girl, she smiled gently. " I can accept your apology, and I will tell you, even if you wish not to listen, that even if someone doesn't care or believe you, say you sorry anyway. Karma will reward you eventually. And I will personally say, I'm free if you wish to explain something or just have an ear. I have pretty nice ones I must say." Winking, she twitched one of her long ears intentionally.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXGlancing at Ichiyo, her smile turned into a smirk, fangs and all."But that aside, punishment must be handed out. Hmm, grounding from leaving the school is alright, but not necessarily a punishment, we have excellent facilities and need for very little. Hmm, personal escort to class? Make sure she attends? Oh and a recommendation to the P.E. Teacher that she may need some extra work. Work out that Aggression and all."

XXXXXXSHe sat trying to absorb all the information that this 'Conductor' was giving, but with her brain feeling a bit hazy she wasn't sure how much she was actually getting. Deciding to let her subconscious brain work on that she glanced around at those on this train with her. There were two young looking girls, one with reddish hair and topaz eyes and the other with almost orange hair and violet eyes. The male was a pompous looking blue eyed blond. The red head was currently looking up, so following her gaze, a mirror was found. Looking in the mirror, she found herself to have white hair and gray-blue eyes, maybe a bit older then those other girls on the train.

XXXXXXShe was jolted from her observations by the conductor talking about their pouches and some tokens being our new identity. Turning to look at her side she found her own, and started digging through it. First she found her token, which had a figure of an owl carved into a very very light shade of aqua, almost light grey. Putting it on herself she started trying to think of herself as Owl in her mind, seeing as she had no other information to go on. Owl turned back to her bag and look at the other two objects, a card which would apparently give them a power depending on which one, and this flip thingy. And after messing with it and opening it, Owl found that it held the map.

XXXXXXOwl jumped a bit when the blond, whom seemed to have the Peacock token waltzed out of the train, and after him went the Red Rabbit. Moving, Owl got up to see what they were up to, but not in any rush. But they time she got over there, Peacock had used his card, 01- The Magician apparently. It caused a fire orb to shoot at Rabbit. Soon, Rabbit used her card, 10- Fortune, causing a gust to impact Peacock. Now Owl noticed the beep that had fallowed the two using thier card, sighing she fully exited the train.

XXXXXX"Well, I'm going to the desert to see what's in those supply crates. You can join along, as long as you don't plan on attacking me." Rabbit suddenly said before glancing at Peacock and then walking off. Looking back at the other orange girl Owl shrugged "Why not, no reasoning to stick around here after that magic show." and with that she attached her pouch to her person and started after Rabbit. Owl hummed as she noticed the taller girl clutching her shoulder, and thought about asking but shrugged and decided not to.

XXXXXX Thinking back to the magic card show, she wondered what her card did. She was half tempted to use it now, seeing as the postions were already marked, but decided to hold off on it. Not sure if the current company could be trusted. Maybe later.

XXXXXXThe first rays of sun started to break through the windows on the far side of the room. They made their way, creeping along the floor and walls until the light touched the tip of a red scaled tail. The end twitched slightly, but slowed to an almost wag as it spread over the rest of the appendage. Soon lavender skin was under the slowly warming lights. Lyndai hissed in pleasure as she rolled over, slithering to get all of her mass under the rays. Her white hair sparkling in contrast to her purple horns that adorned her like a crown. She arched her back in her euphoria, the nakedness of her form showing. It was a Naga's nature to not wear anything at all, but due to social niceties, she was required to at least cover somewhat. She had her leather armor pieces for that, but only when she was going out of her room.

XXXXXX"Ugg...Why must I leave this wonderful warmth...right, food..."

XXXXXXLyndai sighed as she reminded herself of why she was being forced to get out of her rock like bed and the warmth it was absorbing. She wasn't able to hunt in these building, and instead was provided food, at certain times, well if she wasn't anything good anyway. Groaning she slithers all the way out of her bed and coiled in an up right positions, stretching up in the air as she did so. After she when about getting ready to go out in public. Hair combed, dress in armor, flower accessories in place. Done. She was about to exit but after looking at the clock decided there would be people out and about.

XXXXXXShe hated having her tail stepped on or run into, so she started the habit of using her humanoid form. It wasn't as comfortable as her natural form, but it was descent enough, still not as good as when she went full snake. As she approached the door her long serpent tail shrunk and split, her skin tone turning a light pale pink, and her horns shrunk and dissipated. Sighing she picked up the boots by her door and started putting them on as well.

XXXXXX "So much work for public decencies, and they call us Nagas uncouth, its almost self harming the things people have to go through so as to not offend another."

XXXXXXWalking out of her room, her sharp gold eyes glanced around for anyone. Seeing no one she shrugged, probably all in bed or the dinning room...or work. Speaking of work she needed to touch up her dances, they were starting to feel repetitive and not as seductive. Walking over to the female bathroom she did a quick check and shine on her fangs, giving herself an intimidating smirk, testing out how it looked to day. Still scary if she said so herself. Leaving the bathroom she waltzed over to the stairs and swayed down the staircase. She had to cross they foyer before she entered the Dining room.

XXXXXXIn the room was already three people, not to crowded, but it seemed to be a normal start to a day none-the-less. There was the ogre female, Eiji, and Kadaj the Arabic guy. She hummed as she noticed the food. She started walking over to it, her hips doing the same swaying motion as she would with her tail, before pausing. Right, polite to say morning greetings. She had glanced over at the Arab a culture she was raised in, and the others. Shrugging she decided to say the normal greeting her mothers clan gave at morning hunts.

          XXXXXX "التبرك ، والحظ الجيد"

XXXXXX She completed with a small bow before continuing her trek to a seat and food. Sitting down she started gathering her meal. Only partially paying attention to the others in room, but being a Naga she was a social creature. Waking up the more she was with other beings.

Lyndai was having one of 'those' days. The day were eveything seemed to eith go wonderfuly your way, or tragicly the other direction. She had woken early, went out to go gather some fresh herbs, as she had been running low and it got her out of the house. And what do you know, bountiful gatherings of herbs everywhere, she would be stoked for a long time. Plus one for the good things. After working and gathering, Lyndai sluggishy made her way back to where she lived, having to get her cart and wares ready for the open market.

As she was stocking her cart, three boxes fell, braking dozens of bottles and spilling pouches. A huge mess, a loss of goods, double towards the bad. After cleaning it all up, and trying to replace what was lost she finally was able to set out. Finding a good spot out of the way and yet able to be seen and herd, a plus for good stuff. But as the day wore on, she was begining to get that sense that something was going to happen.

A she was treating the seventh case of horrid foot ails, which was a whole group of pooints to just bad bad things, she heard a commotion going on not that far off. After asking around, as she wasn't about to leaver her stuff, she found out some rather off putting news. The rumor was that a whole bunch of people were brutily murdered. As it was a rumor, Lyndai put it off to exaderation in either brutality, the number, or both.

Sighing She got back to what she did best, selling herb pouches and 'potions' to women, and curing the aches of the elderly and sick. There were of course whispers of witchcraft, but seeing as she wasn't murrmering spells or hoodoo praphasys, they passed it off as just talk. Which was good, cause Lyndai didn't really want to be stoned or burned, as many books said a witch should be

Smiling joyfuly, grimcing on the inside, Lyndai bid yet another rickidy old man a good day. Somedays she really hoped she never got that old, it seemed like it hurt all the time.

Lyndai had been waving off a little girl, who had come to her with a bad cough, when it started. It started off with a commotion off down the way, from the other side of the market. Lyndai's cart was far enough away from the main market that she couldn't see what was going on exactly. She thought maybe it was a drunken brag again, but then she noticed many Atauis guards and soldiers marching and drowning their weapons. Her eyes widened in panic, 'Is the city being attacked? By who? Samora? The Brotherhood?'

Looking about at the other people panicking, she realized she needed to get out of the way, things were turning very bad. Quickly she closed up the cart, folding it up and locking it, then pushed it off into a recess, so no one would pay it any mind. Turning back to the chaos of panic she realized people were too stunned to do much so she went over and started telling people to return home and leave the area. "Let the fighters do their jobs, and let's do ours by staying out of the way! Come on, we should leave"

Once she got the mob moving she did too, taking her cart and heading home. Inside she was hoping no one got to hurt on either side. No matter what she hated having people hurt needlessly. After making it inside her small lower class house she made herself some herb tea to calm down. Her nerves were fired already, she never should have left the house today.

It was a little while latter that she heard a heavy pounding on her door. Scared her, as she had been doing inventory on her stock in a very focused silence. Rushing she answered it, as the knock sounded kinda intimidating. On the other side of her door was a small group of guards, decked out in full armor. Gulping she gave a small bow. "Sirs, how may I help you?" The one in the middle stood tall and mean looking. "Are you Lyndai Blackmoore? The witch of the market?"

Lyndai floundered for a moment, before recovering. "I don't know about witch, but I am Lyndai..." Nodding the guard moved aside a bit, showing a wagon carriage behind the group. "Good. His majesty, King Damen, and the guard have need of your healing services." Again, she floundered, but this time couldn't stop her jaw from dropping slightly. Still in shock she turn, "Of course, let me get my supplies." So in shock she didn't register getting her bag and herbs, or getting in the carriage. Wow, job from the crown...why her?

Lyndai was ushered around through maze like passages as soon as she was rather rudely led from the carriage. No one had spoken, yet alone explained what she was being expected to do. It seemed to be getting colder the more the walked, and there were many stairs they had taken. It was very unsettling to think she was being taken to the lower levels of what seemed to be the palace. Wasn't that where the Dungeon were?

She was so caught up in her confusion and growing panic that she almost missed the group about to pass them in the hallway. Her guides step off to the side and she was pushed between them out of the way. They gave a bowed salute, and she wasn't sure what to do so she did a curtsy, looking down at the floor, her skirt held with one hand, the other had her bag. There was an even more heavy silence as the steady footsteps passed. The trio moved on as soon as they couldn't be hear any more. Lyndai wasn't sure who that was, but they were highly intimidating.

Finally, they stopped at a door, the man to her left stepped forward and unlocked the door. Then stepped in. "We have the healer." was all he said, but apparently it was enough, cause as she was nudged non-too gently into the room. Which proved her fears right, they were in a dungeon, with cells. And she was being led to one.

Now she spotted why she was here, it was a man, leaning on the wall at the far end of the cell. On instinct she rushed to get to him, but a guard stopped her. "Remember witch, healing only. No tricks, this man is behind the attack at the market." She nodded quickly as she was let into the cell.

Rushing over she set her back down and went to reach for him, but stopped. Getting her act together she got into her role. "My name is Lyndai, I'm here to heal you. Can you tell me where it hurts and what kind of pain?"

Lyndai nodded. "Diego, okay." She gently took his shoulder and moved so she get a look at his wound. She tried to ignore the comment made by the guards outside the cell. How exactly she was odd she never understood, but if got her the privileged to help this guy who would otherwise be in great pain she would stick to it, but she couldn't help the pout.

As she glanced over the wound she hissed in sympathy. "This looks like a rather poorly made arrow head, too ridged to be made by a proper maker, and it seems to even have been made with poor stone, rather then metals. she glanced at her patient. "Though I suppose giving where we are, they don't care much."

Turning to her bag she took out her morter and pestle, and a few jars that held parts of herbs. Humming she though. "Lets see, its pretty close to a major blood way, so Yarrow to reduce blood loss...some chives for the immune system..no that won't work with Yarrow, so use chives and Lady's Mantel.." She went on mumbling for a second before she decided on a mixture.

Looking to the guard she spoke, hesitantly. "I'm going to need some milk or honey...is that possible?" If she was going to make a paste, she would need something to bind it but still keep the healing properties.

After treating Diego the first time, she had been lead up to a small servant quarters, and told not to leave them unless sent for. It was a little scary this whole situation, but she felt she was doing what she should be doing, so she held her head high. Though she was worried, for good reason.

She knew they were torturing Diego, the wounds told it all, and she wasn't too happy about it. She felt like she was helping them, as after she healed him, they hurt him more. But there wasn't much she could do. She had found out, after over hearing some guards talking the Diego was the leader of the Brotherhood that had been fighting in the market. But it changed nothing.

Right now she was healing him once again, silently thinking about what to do, when he asked her. " Any chance you'd be willing to put me down?" Lyndai glared, but realized he was joking. "No, Diego, I can't. As it would be me they had in here next. Not to mention I have no herbs for a peaceful put down.' She smiled, but grimaced imminently after.

Glancing over she marked that the guards were so use to this that they weren't bothering to watch them too closely. So she seized the chance for some more dangerous talk."Diego, do you have a plan to get out of here? Someone coming or something?" She asked in a whisper as she leaned forward pretending to carefully peal off an old bandage.

She had been a bit worried when he coughed and winced after chuckling, it meant he had some internal issues.Which were not pretty at all, or good when one was not being healed completely. But she sighed when he replyed "I have only faith in Theron and the brotherhood." But she perked up and paid more attention when he added about having help. Was this what she was suppose to do?

He admitted to knowing - believing- she was more skilled then she let on, making her flush from the praise. She wasn't acknowledged easily, so complements made her unsettled. Smiling she nodded. "I came to this place because I felt a calling, a reason to come here. I think I've found that reason." Glancing back at the guards "I know not about going with you, but I do know how to help."

Slowly, so as not to draw attention to the movement, as the guard had her in his peripheral side, she reach to a small pouch at her waist. Taking a breath she steadied herself. With a pinch of the powder into her hand she took a deep breath and and then exhaled, blowing the powder into the direction of the guards. All while not moving as much as possible. She made a wave of her hand, sending a small breeze to carry her gift. It wasn't instant but slowly the guards grew different, swaying before leaning on the wall. A soft snore started coming from them.

"That won't last long, not enough to get you out, but it will be enough to heal you completely." Taking her hands, she spread her palms out over him. One near his head, the other on his chest. Taking a breath she focused. Humming, so as not to draw more attention to where they were, she began her magic. Singing would have help guide the workings, but humming would surface. Her hands glowed, as she worked. Sweat gathered as she finished, slouching as she did so, releasing the magic. "The internal damage has been healed, it took more then I thought, as it was more worse then I feared." She looked at the guard. "He should think they just fell asleep on the job, act like you didn't notice."
