Good news everyone! Gaia Staff agreed to do a kickstarter for our user-run event for President Diedrich's 5th birthday! This was nice of them, because we were really considering just raising taxes on everybody to cover President Diedrich's exorbitant party life style!

We are the third user-run event in Gaia's history to have a kickstarter! Wow! Thank you Gaia Staff! We hope to make you proud!

This here is a handy-dandy little guide we put together to help the people of Gaia understand the kickstarter.

This is the GCD, so we hope you will take the time to discuss the contents of the guide!

This is funding President Diedrich's 5th Birthday Party! IT WILL BE ONE HECKUVA PARTY! I TELL YOU WHAT! I don't even remember my 5th birthday, THAT'S HOW I KNOW IT'S GONNA BE INTENSE!

We wanted to take a moment to show you exactly what sort of event we will be putting together with the donations from the community. To do this, we have pulled some information out about last year's event, and have posted our proposal for this year's activities. All gold will go towards funding this event.




For an idea of the sort of event we will be pulling together, we thought it would be a good idea to show you what we pulled off last year.

For Diedrich's fourth birthday, the D-Party hosted and sponsored President Diedrich's Birthday Bonanza! We held six different contests, and the party went on for a whopping 1056 pages! Seventeen artists donated their amazing artistic ability to beautify the party, and we had an amazing time!

We even had a Diedrich Piñata! HE WAS FULL OF DELICIOUS CANDY! AND FACTS!

If last year was amazing, THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE EVEN BETTER!

We have asked artists across the art freebies to donate their talents to draw Diedrich enjoying his birthday, and so far we have not been disappointed!

All of the gold donations will 100% go towards prizes for contests, giveaways, raffles and whatever other items we wish to purchase for the purpose of giving out during this event! All items purchased will be Diedrich themed! They will either be directly related to the President, or they will at least be his fur color, toxic green!

As of right this moment, we have plans to host 8 different contests to celebrate Diedrich's Birthday. Depending on funding, we may expand the number of contests to an even higher number! We don't want to give everything away, but you can expect contests for every talent type! Art, music, writing, avatar building, quoting and even luck-based contests! We are trying to keep it interesting! Everyone should be able to enter at least one contest!

There is more than one way for you to help make this event a success! We have put together a small guide so you can see how you can help make Diedrich's Birthday even better! We look forward to your help, no matter what format you provide!




If there is one thing the D-Party is good at, it's partying! Planning the President's party is pretty paramount to our prosperity as a political party! HAHA!

If you're an artist, and you want to doodle a Diedrich masterpiece for us, we promise to feature EVERY DIEDRICH ART in the event thread! Not only that, but we are going to credit each artist for their amazing work!

How did you guys get an official Kickstarter?

Our leader asked during an AtS about a month ago. A Gaia Staff member responded, and they helped to set it up for us.

Did you choose the items or achievements in the kickstarter?

We did not! The staff members who set it up did all that work!

Did you guys choose the personal tier amounts?

The gaia staff chose the donation levels.

I don't have any gold to donate. Can I still participate in your event on April 1st?

Of course! Everyone is welcome! You can help us out in other ways besides donations! We could use bumps in our art thread, or help planning!

What are you going to do with all the gold?

100% of the donations we get from the event will go towards prizes for celebrating Diedrich's Birthday!

What if you don't get enough donations to get all of the tiers?

That's Ok! We are happy just to have the recognition! A lot more people know about our event now that they did when we weren't going to have a kickstarter, so this is still successful!

You can only get up to 50% of the donations from this kickstarter! Is that bad?

Not at all! This kickstarter both helps us raise gold and awareness about our events, and acts as a goldsink to fix the economy! This is a good thing! WIN/WIN!

I don't even like Diedrich! But I want to win stuff. Can I still participate?

Absolutely! Unless you are mean. Please don't be mean! Diedrich is friends with everyone! Just ask the Easter Bunny!

Woah. You guys like parties! Do you do any other parties during the year?

Why is Diedrich a different shade of green compared to the original grunnies??

This is a very good question which top Gaian scientists have been debating for many years. We theorize the shade difference has to do with the magical implications of Diedrich's birth. You see, classic grunnies were made in a lab. Diedrich, however, was born like a phoenix from the ashes of a dead man. These starkly contrasting origins have lead to two very distinct kinds of grunnies. Both are still good, but only one is president.

Why is Diedrich bipedal?

Another good question, for which we do not have an answer. Why does Rufus wear a little suit? Why does Radio Jack have such little wings, but such giant wing-like ears? Where do babies come from? Not every question can be answered by one such as me. The D-Party is a very powerful political party, but we are not all-knowing.

Why do YOU get an event without an amethyst ticket?

We would have hosted this event regardless of whether or not Gaia was willing to help us with a kickstarter. It was very kind of the staff to help us like this, and we are very thankful to them for all that they do for us and Diedrich. We hope that this chance at getting a kickstarter to support our event, will challenge others to go out and plan thier own events on Gaia.

We thought it might be a good idea to tell you a little about the grunny himself, and the folks behind this event.




Diedrich is the Loveable self-elected president of Gaiaonline. Based on the older Grunnies, Diedrich holds his humble beginnings to the featured Grant item, Gambino’s ashes, given out during the 2010 April fools celebration. Born from humble beginnings, Diedrich rose from Gambino's Ashes on April first, 2010. Johnny K.Gambino was murdered by Zhivahgo and his urn acted as Diedrich's egg.



Diedrich's character was invented by Jenzee and Reapersun.

We celebrate President Diedrich's birthday on April 1st.

Since his birth he has gone on to an illustrious career in Gaiaonline events. She has been featured in Easter, Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Pie Hard. Diedrich seems destined for a life of conflict. Events pitted our Green squishy hero head to head against Radio Jack, The Easter Bunny, and the entire cast of Gaia.

After Pie Hard Diedrich took a brief break to enjoy the experience of motherhood, and inundated all of Gaia with his tiny bunny spawn. Though many were turned to soup, other were adopted and given loving if somewhat fanatical homes. Diedrich decided motherhood was a one-time experience and hastily spayed itself.

Our loveable president then decided to run for election unopposed. Soon competition arose via his Mitt Romney-esque Clone, Friedrich. The two duked it out over a presidential debate. Diedrich won by a landslide!!

Since his presidency has has done few things. Most notably he declared the Month of March "Cute Month". During the Government shut down, Diedrich made an announcement where he decided he would also take on the position of Government. He even has a 69% Approval rating. Ok, so 69.5%, but that's not as funny. He held a D-Party Tea-Part Summit in November of last year in order to get to know the people of Gaia a little better, and helped to get Carl elected as his Vice President. That might not feel like a lot for his first two years of presidency, but there is no congress on Gaia. How else is he gonna do it?

The D-Party was formed as the only political party on Gaia in support of it's president, Diedrich. It mainly focuses on monopartisan issues such as "Where can I party today?" and also "How can I Diedrich more?" Well, the D-Party cares about these things! We also care about Diedrich!

Now you might be thinking, "How do I become a member of the D-Party?" Well, it is very easy, my friend! Anybody can be a member of the D-Party! You just got to show up! You don't have to bring anything. All we need you to do is give unending lifetime support to Diedrich which you pretty much have done anyway, you know, since he's president!
