Hoshi stood by the window of the small two room apartment, one bathroom, a living and a kitchen of course, the place wasn’t big and it wasn’t even close to being home yet. Kuroi was in her room thumping things around unhappily, the thirteen year old was angry, she didn’t like this place yet, so far people had stared at the two girls from Kumogakure. Hoshi was a jounnin at the age of seventeen, it was quite the feat and the Hokage Tsunade had welcomed the powerful jounnin into her ranks. Especially after seeing Kuroi’s bad attitude about things, the younger girl wasn’t happy about the small apartment, but hoshi knew the younger girl was just hiding the hurt that she felt about her father remarrying after their mother had died. he had tried taking care of Kuroi, but he wanted nothing to do with Hoshi, who wasn’t his daughter. Instead Hoshi had been raised by their grandmother, their mother died not long after Kuroi had turned five, and Hoshi was sent to her mother’s mother.

Hoshi shook her head lightly letting those thoughts leak from her mind as she turned away from the window overlooking the village on the third floor of the apartment building. Kuroi came out, deep red eyes glaring into Hoshi’s bright purple ones as the younger girl crossed her arms over her chest. “I’m finished. I’ve got nothing anyways.” She seethed. “Ready to go shopping for food and other things to make this place more like home?” Hoshi asked looking at her sister. “This isn’t my home.” Kuroi snorted walking towards the door, her stuffed dog in her arms, which was plucked from the couch, where she had thrown it in her anger as they’d opened the door. With a slight sigh Hoshi grabbed the money and the two girls made their way down the stairs and into the marketplace.

Kuroi walked ahead glancing around at things and people alike, Konohagakure was nothing like to Kumogakure, these people smiled and talked with each other, even greeting the two sisters happily. Hoshi hoped this would improve her younger sister’s mood, and slowly it did, and they began shopping, Kuroi got herself some red and black comforter and sheets for her bed. A smile slowly starting to spread across the younger girls face as they gathered things they liked, Hoshi grabbing herself a deep purple bedspread and sheets in a light lavender coloring. The two girls then began shopping for food, in which they slowly began the trek back home with their bags full, also carrying cleaning supplies for the apartment which was a bit dusty.

“Hoshi… I’m really sorry, I know I’ve been a brat since we left Kumo, and I’ve been taking all my anger out on you, and I know it’s not your fault. I just… I don’t know what to say other then I’m sorry.” Kuroi begins while she fiddles with her dark blue colored hair. “It’s alright, I know you’re upset, but if you just want to talk about things to me, you know you can. I know what you’re going through remember?” Hoshi explained while they turned the corner and almost ran into a young kunoichi Hoshi’s own age. She had long dark blue hair and deep black colored eyes, Hoshi grabbed the tan colored scarf Kuroi had around her neck to stop the younger girl from walking into the other one. “Excuse us, we weren’t watching where we were going.” Hoshi says with a smile to the other girl. “Ack! Hoshi, you’re choking me! I’m going to die!” Kuroi yells dramatically grabbing at her throat, Hoshi blinked staring down at her younger sister as she flailed about for no reason. “Kuroi..”

                                                                    [[word count: 621 ]]

The dark blue haired younger sister looked up at her older black haired one, red eyes contrasting with purple, before she heard the remark about them being twins, Kuroi seen Hoshi smile politely as she let Kuroi’s scarf go and bowed. “Please pardon us as well, We’d better let you get on your way, we’re new but we’d hate to be the reason you never see the light of day again.” Hoshi said as she stood up in all her five foot seven inches of glory with her huge chest, Kuroi snorted crossing her arms over her flat thirteen year old chest, she could only wish that she looked like Hoshi did.

“I’m sorry again.” Hoshi said with a smile before grabbing the bags that Kuroi hadn’t noticed that she had dropped and walked around the other girl. “I hope to see you around.” Hoshi says while waiting for Kuroi who hastily bowed before running up to her sister without saying anything, instead glancing back curiously. “Hoshi, why didn’t you correct her on us not being twins?” Kuroi asked while they walked, the younger girl letting the older girl carry all of the rather heavy bags, completely scatter brained.

“It doesn’t really matter Kuroi, you’re my sister, if you’d like I’m sure we’ll see her around again some day and you can tell her yourself.” Hoshi said glancing at the younger girl by her side, who puffed up her cheeks. “I will!” She exclaimed loudly before running up the stairs to the apartment they lived in on the third floor and unlocked the door with her own key. Hoshi made sure they each had one, Hoshi was a jounnin, she’d get lots of missions and be out often, Kuroi was a genin though she’d been trained by Hoshi for the most part. Tomorrow they would find out from Tsunade what was going on with them, Kuroi held open the door while Hoshi moved in sideways and set the bags on the table, one of the only clean places.

“Time to start cleaning, grab the broom and cleaners and begin in your room alright?” Hoshi said looking at her younger sister, who sulked before grabbing the broom, reluctantly setting down her stuffed animal and sinking away towards her room. Hoshi shook her head with a soft laugh before grabbing the window cleaner and beginning on the huge window in the living room. Once the inside was clean she went out standing on the slight overhang from the roof and cleaned the outside too. Hoshi moved along the roof to Kuroi’s window, Hoshi had let the other girl take the room with the window facing the village while Hoshi had the one facing the hallway, where she could watch people in the complex.

She began cleaning the window while Kuroi jumped around wiggling her rear around as she sang something Hoshi couldn’t quite hear, dancing with the broom as she went, Hoshi couldn’t help but smile and shake her head at the younger girl. When Kuroi turned around dancing, she froze seeing Hoshi cleaning the outside of the window before she screamed and ran out of her own room. Hoshi sweatdropped lightly before making her way in through the living room window, Kuroi was hiding in the kitchen acting like she was looking for something in the bags.

“How could you spy on me like that?!” Kuroi turned around yelling her face beet red. “I wasn’t spying, I was cleaning the outside of your window for you.” Hoshi said lifting an eyebrow up slightly. “Don’t do it without telling me!!” Kuroi yelled grabbing the window cleaner from Hoshi and storming off into her room shutting the door. Hoshi could only shake her head more at the younger girl’s antics.

                                                                    [[ word count: 627 ]]

Itachi looked up from the table where he was busy sharpening his Kunai, Sasuke mumbled about something troubling Mimiku, their sister. He set the kunai in his hand down on the table before sitting back in his chair, dark grey eyes looking at his imouto-chan as she panted. He rose an eyebrow slightly turning to face her better. “You still have the groceries with you Imouto.” He pointed out lightly pointing a finger at the bags in her hands still before he looked at her closer. “Are you alright? You seem.. perturbed by something, did something happen?” He asked caringly, he loved his sister just as much as he loved Sasuke.

Glancing at his younger brother he pushed him slightly. “Go take the bags from Mimiku, so that I can talk with her about what’s bothering her, she needs to catch her breath also.” Itachi commanded with a softness in his voice, her was starting to worry about what might be bothering Mimiku, but the groceries need to be put up as well.

                                                                    ----------------------

Kuroi finished her room and began putting her dark red sheets on her new bed, this place still didn’t feel like home yet, but being able to look out of the window and see over the town was a nice feeling. In the Kumogakure it had just been clouds and mountains for as far as her eyes could see. She put up her clothes into the closet and then took her weapons out and set them on her side table, seeing them sitting there she frowned, they were dull and chipped. “Boy Hoshi would scold me if she seen these… maybe I should sneak her whetstone to sharpen them…” Kuroi wondered aloud softly.

Hoshi was in her room across the hall sweeping, after she finished she mopped the floor and let it dry, heading outside to clean the outside of her window, having already done the inside before she mopped the floor. Looking into the room from the outside was normal, this place didn’t feel like home to her yet either, but at least this place was a lot nicer than where they had lived before. Hoshi sighed softly her eyes softening as a sad look crossed her face thinking about their mother, who Kuroi looked a lot like, Kuroi just didn’t act like her. A soft sad smile crossed her face before she pulled herself out of it and stood up.

She made her way back into the apartment, leaving the door open to let in some much needed fresh air, she opened the window in the living room as well to get that circulation going. She began sweeping and mopping the kitchen and living room taking off her ninja shoes at the door so that it was a bit easier to walk around. With the fresh air blowing through the small apartment it took only minutes before the whole house’s wet floors were dry. Hoshi began to pick through the food that they had gotten, deciding on a stir fry, she hooked up the rice cooker putting in the rice and water before letting that go. She turned on the stove to make some tea for the two girls before beginning to cut into the beef that she had gotten.

“Kuroi! How’s beef stir fry sound?” Hoshi yelled through the house. “It sounds good to me, what will you put in it?” Kuroi yelled opening the door to her room. Hoshi smiled as she finished cutting some of the beef and put the rest of it away while she gathered some of the vegetables they had gotten while they were shopping. “How about squash, carrots, red peppers and asparagus?” Hoshi asked pulling them out. “Aw man I don’t like red peppers!” Kuroi grumbled but she didn’t protest anymore.

Hoshi smiled beginning to make the sauce for the beef, before setting them in to soak up the juice while she began washing and cutting all the vegetables. Before long she began cooking them all together the house and out into the hallway began to smell amazingly like food. “Mmmm That smells good.” Kuroi says making her way into the kitchen as the tea kettle went off.

                                                                    [[word count: 701 ]]

Hoshimi slowly made her way off the plane, 14 hours and 10 minutes on that plane, luckily they had sent their things to the house about a week ago, someone was suppose to have it aired out, cleaned and ready for living. They were also suppose to be here waiting for the two girls. Hoshimi stood off to the side of the stairs leading down from the plane while she waited for Jinx, as the redhead joined her; the two girls slowly made their way across with everyone else to look for their names, or Jinx’s anyways. Finding a large cardboard sign with Emiko Tsukino on it made Hoshimi sigh looking at her best friend. Both girls were tired, jet lag was a pain, they slumped over to the man holding the sign, where he bowed quickly. “Welcome back Misses.” He said politely, he was in his mid thirties probably, his hair still luckily full atop his head or Hoshimi might have started giggling from being tired.

They didn’t say much as they greeted him, got their luggage and got into the car he would be driving, it wasn’t anything too ridiculous which Hoshimi was glad for, he explained the house had food and everything the girls could need, but if their was something the would need he left a map of the surrounding area with things marked that they might need to go too. Hoshimi quietly thanked him from the back seat as she stared out the window, luckily the ride to the house was fairly short an hour in a half to get to the place, the school was close enough to walk to thank heavens. He said he would be back in the morning to pick the two girls up early to make sure everything was filled out, they would get lockers, clothes uniforms and everything they would need early that morning so that they could change.

Grabbing their things he waved before saying his number was on a paper on the table and to call him if they needed anything before he drove off. The house before them was beautiful, a red iron gate with beautiful greenery surrounding the house, second story and everything, Jinx opened the gate with a smile as she walked in Hoshimi following as they carried their small bags with them, it was already beginning to turn dark as they made way inside the building. The lights were on and everything was beautiful and clean, the two girls found their boxes on the living room floor where they slowly dragged them together up to the second floor where it had two rooms. They each took one, after all the boxes were done being placed each girl went to work on fixing their rooms.

Blueish purple sheets on the bed, dark blue comforter with stars on it pillows, stuffed cat on her bed where Hoshimi couldn’t wait to fall asleep on. Setting her alarm clock on the table that out looked into the yard gave her a deep sense of calm, she began placing her things around the room. Pictures of her and Jinx in America, elementary, Middle school, no uniforms and you could see even then the girl’s styles had begun to show through. Hoshimi put her clothes away in the closet, her shoes as well, setting her make up and shower supplies into the bathroom that she had alone. She assumed Jinx had her own bathroom as well, she quickly stripped from her clothes grabbing her pajamas before braiding her long hip length hair. She grabbed her stuffed black cat flipped off her light and curled up closing her purple grey eyes as she fell asleep, she’d be starving in the morning...

Hoshimi woke up to her alarm clock at 5am, with a yawn she made her way to grab her regular American running clothes grabbing her running shoes she scrawled a quick note in case Emiko woke while she was out for a quick run. Hoshimi left the house slipping her shoes on before running around for a half an hour finding places near by that would com in handy, two block away was a cute little dog grooming place which was currently looking for some workers. Around the corner was a little convenience store, the other way was a small burger joint also, Hoshimi made her way back to the house making her way back up to her room to shower, after showering she dressed in normal clothes, seeing as they didn’t have the uniform because they weren’t enrolled just yet. Jeans, tank top, hat blow dried hair, a little bit of eyeliner and mascara.

Hoshimi went down the stairs making Okayu, also cooking eggs and some meat to add to the simple americanized japanese breakfast while setting her own food and Emiko’s food out. Luckily the school didn’t start today so they wouldn’t need to make lunch for school, they were just signing up and getting everything they would need for the school. Hoshimi finished eating her breakfast greeting Emiko as she walked down the stairs ready for the day, a knock on the door signalled their driver was here, the girls grabbed cell phones before getting into the car and driving to the school. Four blocks away Hoshimi took notice of a yoga studio with classes, Hoshimi had to stop by today and see about payment plans, she needed a place for that.

They got to the school most students had already signed up but luckily both girls parents had called ahead of time to save them a spot, they walked in filled out paperwork, got a weeks worth of uniform, they were lead around being shown to where each of the girls class would be at and who their teacher’s would be. They were encouraged to join clubs of course, after being given their books and lockers at the front of the school, everything was taken care of and they headed back home once inside Hoshimi told Jinx what she had seen on her little run this morning, mentioning the burger place, the dog groomer looking for workers, and she mentioned how she would need to go to that yoga place for classes.

Evelyn knew one day it would come down to her being Queen, she hadn’t thought it would be this soon, she looked up from the paper in her hands and looked out sadly across the kingdom. They had lost their parents in a sudden tragic fire, she wanted to cry but she would have to be made Queen now, she would have to rule. She held her head up and turned handing the paper back to the steward who had given her the news, she needed to get things together, but first Addison had to know. “Take this to Addison, she needs to know about it, send word for my advisors.” The steward left quickly, and before she knew it her advisors filled the rooms, she turned around straight faced to speak to them. “We need to make preparations for a public wide funeral, bodie’s or not we all need the chance to mourn my father and mother. Two days of mourning and then we must hold the coronation, we cannot hold it off any longer.” She spoke seriously. “We do not advise on holding a public mourning session, your Grace…” They warned. “Whether you dislike my plans or not, we will be going through with them, begin your preparations for the coronation.” She said before waving them out of her chambers.

Alone. It was always like this, she thought as the sound of her door shutting echoed around her room, she continued to stand in the window watching as the news spread. Crying ensued, the whole kingdom would express her very own need to cry, but she wasn’t allowed, not in public anyways. Evelyn turned away from the window as her eyes watered, filling with tears she took a few steps before her legs gave out and she landed on the floor with a sob. She stifled it with a hand over her mouth as the tears streamed down her face feeling icy and cold just like her powers. Eve didn’t know how long she sat in the darkness of her room, her tears eventually froze against her cheeks but she had no strength left in her to stand up just yet so she stayed leaning her head against the chair that was nearby.

The two day mourning period was hard for Evelyn, she had to keep her emotions in check or her powers would surface for everyone to see, and they couldn’t have that, she had promised mother and father. Time came for the coronation, people from the Kingdom would be allowed inside the castle, all of it including her own area, she stood in the window looking out as they gathered by the gates before she gave the order to open them. The chapel quickly filled and Evelyn found herself standing in front of everyone as she held the scepter while saying the passage to make her Queen, they placed the crown upon her head and that was it. Cheering filled the halls as everyone filed away to the ballroom, because what was a coronation without a ball?

She didn’t want to be surrounded by people as she stood on the raised dais smiling at her people as they danced together, Addison soon joined her side and Evelyn turned to face the younger girl. Evelyn couldn’t help but notice how grown up Addy had become; a soft smile crossed her lips, she wore a beautiful gown, her long brown hair up elegantly in curls atop her head. “Addison… you look beautiful tonight.” Evelyn stated while looking at her sister with a smile. She had missed her sister, when they were younger they had been inseparable, it was hard knowing that they had to stop because of an accident, because of Evelyn.

Evelyn smiled as her younger sister told her she also looked beautiful tonight, it was the first time they had talked together since they were young, it was a little awkward at first but they soon were talking together like they were children again. Evelyn had never thought that she would be able to feel this close to Addison again and yet here they were joking like they use to it was almost like a dream. Evelyn didn’t know the man who asked Addison to ask but tonight was Addy’s night to let go, to be free to enjoy herself, and Eve wasn’t going to take that away. Instead she stood up on the dais for a while before making her way around talking to the many people dancing and enjoying her time though she herself wasn’t enjoying herself. She too wanted to let go and enjoy herself, her hair was up atop her head, braided this way around her head and then that way atop her crown and there was where the crown sat. She soon made her way back to the dais talking and greeting people with a polite smile, it was what she had been groomed for all these years to be the figurehead so that Addy could enjoy her life, even if it meant giving up her own happiness.

Halfway through the night Addy rushed over with the man in tow, Eve expected to be introduced to him but she soon found out otherwise, the two wante dto get married, she couldn’t believe it, she had thought Addy had a smart head on her shoulders. “I can’t approve of this Addison, I won’t accept your marriage to a man you just met, nor can I give my blessing.” She said shaking her head before making her way down the dais, she couldn’t believe her sister was so stricken with this man that she wouldn’t think this though. She made her way towards the door signalling that she was about to leave, she might come back after a bit of fresh air, it really all depended on how quickly she calmed down. She didn’t get the chance as Fabio threatened her, turning around in shock she found Fabio holding a knife to her sisters neck, right where the vein was, one small cut and Addy would die. Fear gripped her heart tightly she brought her hands up to her chest clutching as her dress as she watched as the people around her screamed, some ran through the doors other stood there shocked.

Evelyn hadn’t even realized that she was crying until a woman nearby screamed. “Look at her tears!” “They’re freezing on her skin!” “Sorcery!” Everything blended into one loud mushing noise she cradled her ears closing her eyes, the only thing on her mind though was what she could do to save Addison, she was the only one left, Evelyn couldn’t lose her sister for the throne. She opened her eyes determination in them as she stood straight again, she grabbed the crown off her head before dropping it to the floor. “You can have the throne, so long as you keep Addison safe, alive and well.” Evelyn bargained with Fabio, he agreed, the only catch was that Evelyn had to leave and never come back. One look at Addison’s face before Evelyn nodded her head, turned away and ran from the ballroom, outside where every step she took froze, she ran across the lake heading towards the icy mountains. It was the best place to be alone and at least up there she could be free, she could be whoever she wanted, she ran as she hit the land on the other side of the lake, ran through the forest and headed up the mountains.

Being so far away, she paused looking down below her, across the lake, back to the kingdom of Artenia, she felt so free up here she laughed, she couldn’t help it she felt so free. She turned again running and as she did she created snowflakes, ice staircases, Olaf, the silly little snowman the two girls had created together as children, and finally she created a giant ice castle. She had never been able to fully test out her abilities with her powers, she knew enough to control them, to not fear them but she didn’t know to what extent, being away alone from everyone she was finally able to try. She stepped onto the staircase leading up her gown changing with her magic as she let down her hair, it was long, though she kept the braid around the top of her head, her gown turned pure white slinky and glittery much like the snow that surrounded her as she shut the doors behind her.’It was the only thing I could do to save her… right?’ She thought to herself as the sounds of the doors echoed once again as she was alone.

Carter had been in town briefly this morning to sell some of his fur, they were the best since he knew what he was doing, after selling all of them he bought some food for himself and then, of course, carrots for his reindeer Sven. They had went back out of the kingdom quickly, Carter wasn’t a big fan of being surrounded by people, having grown up in the care of fairies out in the wild tended to do that to a person, or that was what he assumed anyways. The two of them had went into the forest under the mountains headed to a lodge they frequented at, they got there usual lodge from Oaken and paid before heading into the room. The two of them laid on the hay together to keep warm from the sudden chill that was only common during winter, Carter had taken a look outside only to find it much colder than it should be. Shrugging it off her laid back down sharing a carrot with Sven when the door had a knock upon it, Carter frowning stood up and opened it.

Standing there was a girl she wore a winter dress, hiking boots, cloak and she looked ready to head into some seriously cold weather. Then she opened her mouth and started talking, carter stared dumbfoundedly hardly understanding what she was saying, and then at the end she demanded that he take her up the mountain, now. “Excuse me? you come barging into my lodge suddenly and just expect me to leave my warm abode to help you?” He asked before shaking his head. “Come inside, we aren’t leaving yet because I don’t know what it is you want with going up the mountain.” Carter said holding the door open as the girl walked into the room. “Sit down and try answering some of my questions.” He said shutting the door to keep the little bit of warmth in the room. “First, did you say Greg told you about me? Second, not sure if you noticed but it’s night time, its the most treacherous time to even try making way up the mountain. Third, why do you want to head up the mountain at all?” He asked while sitting down once again with Sven as she began talking.

After hearing the story Carter couldn’t say no, and the look on Sven’s face was just too much for him to bare, he stood up with a sigh. “Alright then, I guess we aren’t getting any sleep tonight.” He said while gathering his stuff and heading towards the door, he held the door open for Addison to walk through and then Sven. After the three of them were out Carter grabbed a lamp from the ground next to the lodge door, he lit the candle in it, grabbed his bow and quiver of arrows before Sven and him lead the way through the forest heading towards the bottom of the mountain. “Come on then, you wanted to go up the mountain, it will be slow, and difficult.”

It wasn’t very long before the girl before him started to hum, he left that but soon enough it progressed into full blown singing, which was very bad. “Do you mind? Are you trying to attract all the wild animals around here?” He asked hoping she would get his meaning, instead she opened her mouth annoyingly so and started back talking, or she was beginning too until a loud growl came from the right of them. Carter turned finding the large shaggy brown furred bear beginning to stand up on it’s hind legs, it was showing they were unwelcomed in this place. Carter almost slapped himself in the face as Addison screamed, only further attracting the attention of the bear before she took off running, Carter had no choice but to follow, the bear chasing after them.

Sven running beside him snorted lightly, Carter grabbed onto the reindeer's fur around his neck pulling himself up onto Sven, Sven caught up with Addison who was running as quickly as she could, Carter grabbed her pulling her up in front of him and the two of them rode Sven. Carter looked back every now and then, after a good fifteen minutes of Sven running crazily the bear had pulled back heading back the way it had come. A few more minutes of them running before Sven was slowing down and having a hard time pushing through the snow, he was tired and Carter made them stop. “The bear left a little while ago.” He explained pulling Addison off Sven and setting her onto the mountain.

Right about then snow started to fall from the sky, Carter looked up at the dark clouds above the sky it would get worse and quickly. They started walking up the mountain further, Carter leading Sven along until the snow was akin to being a blizzard, they would freeze if they stayed outside much longer. Carter was looking around as they walked up the mountain, it was a difficult prospect considering they couldn’t see more than a few feet in front of them right now. Addison spoke up about resting in there and as Carter turned to squint through the snow he seen a dark gaping hole in the mountain. “Better than nothing, come on.” He said forging the way into the cave, ducking down and setting the light in the middle, it wasn’t very large which meant it would be easier to heat up with their body heat.

Carter watched as Addison sat down pulling her knees to her chest and he stared at her for a while before he spoke. “You know, usually when people come up this mountain it’s because they want to be left alone, I mean I know you care about your sister, but what if she’s happier up here alone and away from everyone?” He asked curiously. He’d been alone most of his life, and look at how he turned out!

Olaf smiled hurrying over to him with a smile. “Hi! I’m Olaf and I like warm hugs!” He said standing excitedly over the man. “Olaf, be careful.” Evelyn stated as she made her way over to him, her white gown trailing behind her across the floor as she walked. “Are you alright?” She asked him holding out her hand to help him up before she thought better of it and pulled away slightly and took a few steps away. “Can I ask what you’re doing inside my castle? Or a better question would probably be why you are so far up into the mountains.” She asked turning to look at him tilting her head as she caught sight of no shoes on his feet. “And without shoes even.”

She herself could go without shoes in the snow and she was wearing heels right now simply because she had been in them when she had left. She stared at him a bit more, white hair, blue eyes. Could he be just like her? Surely it couldn’t be true. “I’m Evelyn, and you would be?” She asked curiously after he had stood up and answered her questions. Olaf looked back and forth between the two of them before turning to Evelyn. “But why do I need to be careful?” He asked confused and tilting his head to the side. Evelyn looked over at Olaf with a soft but sad smile. “My dear Olaf, some humans don’t take to things they don’t understand, you are unnatural to a lot of people, and because of that they might find you scary. Or try to hurt you.” She explains knowing a good deal about being treated differently.

Her eyes turned to the guy before her again, she was curious.

Adelaide got off the plane early that morning before making her way to a taxi, which she told the address for where she wanted to go, after a few assurances that was indeed where she wanted to go, the driver tried a few times to draw Adelaide into conversation but she answered in short simple replies and soon enough he got the idea. She looked out of the window watching as the city faded away and she passed into a forested area, she watched getting more and more nervous as she looked down at her hands which were in her lap. The driver stopped letting Adelaide know she was outside the gates of the school, she looked up getting her first glimpse of the building, taking a deep breathe she got out grabbing her rolling suitcase, her large backpack, her side bag and her carry on bag. Adelaide pulled out the money her parents had given her before she got on the plane, pocketing what was left and pushed her way through the gate and headed up the driveway towards the large school. As she walked up she found a beautiful woman with short orangish red hair with blonde in her hair just inside the building as Adelaide came inside. The woman introduced herself as Natasha and explained that she was a teacher and would be helping Adelaide with her things, she lead Adelaide down the hallways this way and that while helping Adelaide with her luggage, which she was thankful for. Natasha stopped in front of Dorm room Four, where she opened the door and placed Adelaides luggage inside on the floor, it was then that she started talking as Adelaide stepped inside to find another girl, whose name was Myrika after a few more words to the two girls Natasha left.

Adelaide seen the only bed left, which of course was hers. ‘Last one to arrive, I told them I should have come sooner.’ She thought with an internal sigh before smiling at one of her roommates. “I’m Adelaide Sauvage, its nice to meet you.” She said before grabbing her luggage and taking it to her part of the room, she soon began unpacking her things and placing them away in her dresser and closet. She couldn’t help but glance over at the other girl, she’d never had to share a room before, but soon she focused on placing her books together on the bookcase by her bed setting up all of her things before grabbing her side bag and her schedule where she stared down at the piece of paper, she wanted to find out where the library was at the least, and along the way she would find her classes, or at least that was what she hoped. Setting the paper on her bed she put her luggage in the closet out of the way before grabbing the paper again and heading towards the doors, where she paused. “It was nice to meet you, I’ll be going to find my classes now. I’ll see you later.” She said smiling lightly at the other girl Myrika before opening the door and heading out into the hallway again.

Adelaide made her way down the twisting and turning hallways beginning to get a feel for the place, it wasn’t the best feel for the school since all she did was walk through the hallways so far looking at her classes and staring down at her schedule in her hands but she had a basic idea of the layout as she came upon the library, with a smile she opened the door and stepped in silently, she was happy with how large the room was as she wandered around her fingers touching the spins of the books lightly, as she got farther into the room she caught sight of a guy sitting in one of the chairs with a book, she hadn’t been expecting anyone else to be in the library and she lightly bumped into the bookcase in which caused a soft ‘Oof’ to come from her mouth. She grabbed a book that had been knocked loose and fell over onto the shelf on its cover because of her and set it back up right, she was hoping that he wouldn’t have noticed her but she imagined anyone would have heard that, she almost didn’t want to turn around.

Avalon woke up in her cabin, she laid in bed staring up above her as the sun slowly began rising into the sky, her window was open and her curtains pulled aside on the top floor of her loft. She yawned lightly before rolling over and pushing the sheets off her body as she placed her feet upon the cold wooden floor with a slight hiss. “Oooh that’s cold, I should get slippers next time I’m out, or something.” She said lightly to herself as she stood from the bed turning to fix her sheets and blanket, basically making her bed which was easy all it involved was pulling the covers back up over the bed. She turned again kneeling in front of her dresser, she selected a pair of black leggings from one of her drawers before grabbing her under garments, the breeze coming from her open windows told her it would be a bit chilly, not enough to be cold but enough for her to wear the leggings and be comfortable anyways. She grabbed a off white, not quite peach colored dress with quarter sleeves before making her way down the stairs to the first floor, she made her way into the bathroom, shutting the door behind her she turned the water on.

Hot water hit her body as she washed and relaxed, she noticed the cuts and bruises left over from yesterday’s capture the flag, she’d tried her best but she really wasn’t a fighter, she was able to use a sword enough to protect herself, though she wasn’t much help to Coyote or Echo; even Xan did better than she had. With a sigh she finished washing before getting out and drying off, after dressing she blow dried her hair and added a small line of eyeliner, top and bottom, added a bit of blush to her cheeks before a dab of red lipstick. Finishing she made her way out grabbing a dark brown hat topping it onto her head, she noticed she had a long scratch down her forearm which her dress didn’t cover, she stared at it in surprise since she hadn’t noticed it before. Luckily it wasn’t bleeding, and if she was careful it wouldn’t bleed, at least that was what she was hoping for as she grabbed her latest book off the shelf by the door of her cabin and slipped her black ankle boots on her feet.

With Sepulchre in her hand she made her way towards the Food hall, the slight breeze moved her dress as she walked looking up into the sky while holding her hat, as she finally made it she found Coyote with Echo, Xan, Frankie, Freedom and Vasile all together, that was a bit daunting to her. She wanted to congratulate Coyote and Echo but with the group that large she wondered if she might have been interrupting something. She had to walk by them to get her food anyways so as she walked by she paused lightly waiting for a lull in conversation. “Coyote, Echo, great job leading us to victory yesterday. The rest of you did great as well.” She said eyes running over Frankie and Freedom who were on the red team. Though a movement caught her attention, a small black bat peaking out from under Vasile’s hoodie, she couldn’t help but smile and remark. “He’s a cutie.” She said before moving on. She made her way toward the counter where she managed her favorite Earl Grey Tea, taking a huge whiff of the smell coming from the steaming cup made her smile more.

She grabbed oatmeal, some toast and jam, before deciding on strawberries for her oatmeal, she grabbed another plate and somehow deftly carried her plate’s and tea.

Scout laid sprawled diagonally across her bed with her arm covering her eyes, her blonde hair strewn around her head as she tried to sleep more, but she just couldn’t she finally rose up, quite like a zombie in a horror movie minus her arms being held straight in front of her, that would be just silly. Though with the state that her hair was in, it was comical to begin with, it was so knotted that is stuck up like some kind of bird or rats nest, she scratched her head with a loud yawn before standing, with a look towards her bed she judged the state her blankets were in. A heaping mess, she stared down at it almost blankly while trying to figure out what she wanted to do. “Make the bloody bed or shower and get coffee.” As if she really had to think that answer through, she turned grabbing black leggings with white marks on them, grabbing a loose shirt she grabbed undergarments and made her way into the shower. Scout stood in the water for almost forty minutes just standing in it letting the water run over her bruises, aches and pains, and a few cuts, not many though, she had gotten lucky. Or was it skill, she smirked, probably more along the lines of skill. She finally started washing and got out of the water with a sigh, getting dressed she blow dried her hair and placed it in braids, she wasn’t sure what she would do today.

Grabbing her boots she made her way out of the cabin walking down the path towards the cafe, she wasn’t so much hungry as she just wanted coffee, black like her soul. The thought made her quirk a smile, her soul wasn’t black of course but it was humorous to her at least, she made her way in blue eyes scanning the room she found a few others in the place, she walked by, sure the red team had lost yesterday but they had played well, and next time she would do all it that was in her skill to make sure the red team won. She grabbed her coffee straight black and turned leaning against the counter and took her first sip letting the bitter drink wake her up more, she still wasn’t sure about what she would do for the day, but she would figure it out as she came to it. Taking another gulp she turned back around figuring she should eat something, she stared unhappily at the idea of any of them until she came to seeing a fried egg, and some sausage’s she smirked before grabbing two pieces of toast, placing the egg and sausages on it and began eating it.

Breakfast; quick, filling and soon devoured because it was a small meal, she gulped the rest of her coffee down before making her way out of the cafe and heading out towards the meadow, she was just going to look around the area, see who was where and doing what before she actually chose something to do for sure. In the end she knew she would probably head towards the training grounds to begin working, she hoped some of the others would join her eventually, she had heard a bit about new students making their way into the camp today as well, she couldn’t wait to see who would be coming, they needed more raw power on their team. They did good with what they had so far of course, but being the daughter of Athena she did want a bit more man power, it would be better to strategize with anyways. As she made her way over to the meadow she found Isabel running around bare footed, she was swift on her feet as expected of the daughter of Artemis, Scout stood off to the side watching the other girl curiously, she almost felt like walking away again but instead decided on approaching the other girl.

“Isabel.” She called out making her way over. “How’re you feeling after yesterday’s capture the flag?” They were both on the red team and she wondered if Isabel had joined in the fray, Scout couldn’t remember seeing her but that could have just been because she was focused on what she was doing.

Haya teleported to just outside of Vandriel from the Valkyrie’s Song base where she had been working all night taking stock of what the all female guild would or could possibly need. They needed a great many things, basic things such as Health and Mana Potions, the usual food. Typical things really. Haya moved out of the way of a few other players her eye, for one was hidden behind an eyepatch, focused on making sure she didn’t collide with anyone. She had more important things to do in the town then exchange pleasantries with another player; especially one that she didn’t even know personally. Short gray-silver hair bobbed around her face as she walked, armor clinking lightly as she walked, it was pretty clear to see her role was a Knight, whither she wore and helmet or not. Not was more often anyways, it blocked her view of what she was doing.

She kept one hand on the hilt of her long sword Shoukyaku; she knew that her prized blade was worth a bit of money but that was also part of the reason she carried it around with her. It was a sign of her status in the game; so to speak. She made her way weaving in and out of people as she walked along, Valkyrie’s Song was known enough and so were the top tiered ranking members of the guild. Other players whispered here and there, a remark or two as she passed by, people catching sight of the blade she wore, for it was pretty well known as to who carried it.

“That’s her! The one I was telling you about.” A voice assaulted her from close by.

“Really? I can hardly believe it, she’s here, she actually shows up in Vandriel.” Another voice.

“I’d have pictured the Second in Command to be a bit more intimidating… this is actually a let down.” A male voice caught her attention. Ignorance.

“Don’t say that!” Another voice hissed.

“You’ve never seen her fights, she clears floors with ease, especially with a select group of tower goer’s from the guild.” Another comment.

“It’s an all female guild right? Its hard to believe they’re ranked seventh.” More ignorance.

“See that eyepatch? I hear she has two different colored eyes.” A giggle ensued.

An irritable sigh left her lips as she continued walking through the whispers, an annoyance was all they were, just talk but that didn’t mean it was any less irritating. She finally made her way to the stalls of her choice and quickly bought from the NPC’s running them before she made her way back through the streets while she sent all the supply’s to the guild leader. She had some time left on her own, she wasn’t needed for anything important right this second she figured she had a few options on what she could possibly do. One; she could head to one of the lower tower floors and do that alone. Two; she could head to the Vanishing Tavern for a meal and relax a bit. Or Three; she could just wander around and waste some time.

She opted to wander around the town for a while, maybe she might meet up with one of the few players she knew outside of her own guild, solo players who didn’t want to join a guild just yet. She knew a few, having met them in passing or having met them and kept in touch even after joining a guild herself. She got some time to tower crawl by herself; it wasn’t often usually seeing as they tried to clear the tower floor by floor like the rest of the guilds, but when she got alone time she liked to meet up with people not in her guild. Sure, she’d worked hard in the guild to get exactly where she was but the new players gawked at her, talking often ensued it was one of the many reasons she didn’t always like coming to the town.

Someone knocked into her shoulder, with a growl and a glare set into her face her red eye stared up at the brute before her as they sneered down at her, sure she was tall enough for a girl at Five Foot Seven inches, and her weight gave her a bit more to work with. More muscle to wield her swords and carry her heavier armor, but since she was a girl even if she was a knight she was looked down upon instantly by some of the more cocky male players, though Haya was sure she could kick many of them to their knees she wouldn’t because she was bigger than that. Mentally at least. She pushed past them as she continued along her way, finding an empty bench she sat down to people watch for a while, Orc men and women with their weirdly colored skin walking passed her.

The lithe Felis sprouting fur, though more common they just had ears and tails as the slunked around sneakily, a new player, or at least guildless tried sneaking up on Haya’s side with the eyepatch covering her eye. A hand reached out for her sword but Haya grabbed the wrist in her hand turning to look at the scared thing shivering in her shoes; Haya didn’t have to say a thing as the Felis squealed and as soon as Haya let go of the wrist; she ran off frightened. It’s not like Haya would have killed her, nor hurt her for that matter.

The changeling’s boy and girls walking around with round faces and smiles on looking very much like children, those were the ones to worry about, just as sneaky as the Felis sometimes. She kept her eyes on everyone around her as she waited, very aware of her surroundings; she was an easy target with her sword, she almost thought about putting it away but again, it was one of her signatures. That and her runed sword, which was much more valuable. The drow, dark skin pale hair; they walked around mostly alone, few of them in groups of two or threes; usually they didn’t get into larger groups than that, but then again it was getting to be desperate times, and that called for desperate measures.

Lastly, but certainly not least were the Wingers; a large winged tall race with talons sometimes, a few of them could hover around a bit but mostly kept wings tucked away inside the city’s it was much too crowded in here for them. Which meant everyone was beginning to stock up on things they might need. Armor, weapons, upgrades, health and mana potions, food and drink. They must be planning to head to the tower soon as a few of the groups fluttered excitedly, only the new ones to guilds were excited the rest of them were silent about the mission they were about to go into. The tower was dangerous; the new members to guilds thought it exciting, an adventure like the game was suppose to be; in reality it was a nightmare, someplace only the strongest and most skilled could go into.

And even then sometimes the best died. That’s what the tower was, death in an instant. One false move. No one watching your back and you were done for. But Haya wouldn’t gain anything by scaring the new groups, it was no use. They wouldn’t listen anyways.

                                                          [[word count: 1,254]]

It was dark again, he was sinking under the cool water, it was his favorite place in the world, he was most comfortable here, until something slithered around his legs. It was happening again, he struggled he knew he did, he was fighting it, starting to panic no one knew he was here, would this be how it ended? His head broke the surface and his mouth opened before he sunk under again, the next thing he knew he was on the beach vomiting up seawater with his father over him crying.

With a gasp Ryver woke up in his bed in a cold sweat it was still dark outside and it made him shiver he didn’t want to think about it. The light turned on, turning his granite eyes to the door he found Rayne his mother standing with a soft smile, it was easy to see he must have called out in his sleep. His world was perpetually silent as she walked over and sat on the edge of his bed where she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and pulled him close to her. His light brown bangs were plastered to his forehead with sweat which his mother ignored as she rocked him back and forth softly petting his hair. Kipper padded across the floor and sat down by his feet watching Ryver, the blue orange and yellow pokemon watched him in silence before it jumped up onto his lap and rubbed his face against Ryvers. A smile came to the boys lips as his mother pulled away and made a few signs. ‘Are you okay now? You cried out in your sleep.’ Ryver was ashamed, he was eleven now he shouldn’t need his mother to comfort him anymore!

‘Fine.’ He signed irritably, his mothers face softened more as she leaned down placing a kiss on his forehead. ‘Try to go back to sleep if you can.’ She signed softly before she got up and went to the door. ‘I’m just down the hall if you need me.’ She turned off the light plunging him back into darkness, he held Kipper close to him as he laid back down on the bed. He felt much safer with his pokemon close to him, his eyes watched as Kipper laid down and closed his eyes and soon Ryver did the same. Ryver didn’t know what time he woke up again but it was daytime as Kipper used his tail to caress his face and wake him up, the light shining through the window was still dim and kind of murky. He knew what that meant, it was cloudy outside, getting up he walked over to the window of his new house, no longer could he see the waves of the ocean from where he stood instead a mountain met his eyes.

Ryver grabbed his brown swim trunks from his drawer, grabbed his shirt and jacket while he changed, picking up his hat with his goggles on them he made his way out of the room and down the stairs towards the kitchen where his mother was making breakfast his father drinking coffee. ‘Morning.’ His father signed with a smile. ‘Morning. It looks like a storm might be coming in today, is that what the news said?’ He asked curiously sitting down while Kipper ran over to his food happily devouring the bowl. ‘Yes, they also say some weird pokemon has been flying up around by the mountains today, please Ryver be careful today.’ His father signed worriedly. Ryver knew why, if he got hurt or stuck he could call out but he wouldn’t hear anyone call back to him, it was a dangerous situation. Ryver nodded his head, he planned to go outside today, rain was the next best thing if he couldn’t be near the ocean everyday, these lakes didn’t help with much. Rayne set down a plate of food in front of him before she signed to him while she sat in front of him. ‘I’m not making you stay home, go out and explore a little just don’t wander too far away.’

Ryver nodded his head as he started to eat his food, this was a consolation, they would let him go outside today. They had only been moved in for a little while and the few other kids around this town pointed and laughter at him, mocking him signing. He didn’t like them and stayed away from them, today he planned on exploring around the area a little bit more since this was really the only chance he had. Keven grabbed his things kissed Rayne before kissing Ryver on the forehead and leaving for the day signing that he loved Ryver, Ryver signed it back to him. Rayne and Ryver ate before his mother had to leave for work and she left him with a key of his own so that he could go out and explore when he was ready. He packed up his bag with the items he would need for exploring before heading out of the house with kipper at his side, the two of them walked down route 117 for the first time to explore.
