Twenty years. It’s taken twenty years for Team Rocket to finally achieve the goals that Giovanni couldn’t achieve during his reign. It was a shame he was defeated by a ten-year-old. It sapped a lot of his energy and then just vanished. We never broke up when he did – our numbers simply dwindled to make the world assume we have been vanquished. With the rise of new executives we regrouped and became stronger than ever, but the majority of the executives felt that they needed their leader to return, so they focused their energy on Johto’s radio towers to signal for his return. It was a foolish move on their part, and another prodigy child defeated them. With their defeat, it was up to me to continue the line. I maintained the team underground, training grunts to take things in a business-like manner. Things were moving smoothly and according to my plans – then Giovanni returned.
With his return all of the grunts immediately saw him as their leader, and not myself. I maintained my posture as Giovanni controlled my plans, my dreams. I had to get rid of him. It wasn’t terribly difficult to do, after all I was executive for about five years before Giovanni’s return. All I needed was a few terrorist attacks and some evidence that pointed to Giovanni. Of course I laid out evidence that didn’t point to Team Rocket. It was perfect. He was arrested for conspiracy, first degree murder, and assault on government property. While he rotted away in prison, I regained the throne and continued on conquest for total domination. Slowly, Team Rocket grew into a massive business, buying off many locations, such as the Hoenn Weather Station, the Goldenrod City Radio Station, and even every major department store in each region, including Sinnoh. All that’s left for us to take is the Isshu region, but that’s a risky investment seeing as it is conveniently far from the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions. For now I will send two scouts to being as much information as they can.
During our rise, intelligence had shown us that powerful, mythical creatures of time past roamed the lands. Naturally I assumed these were fossil Pokémon, and our first order of business was buying every corporation that supported fossil regeneration. This was not to be the case; our research led us to an ancient Pokémon race known as the Unown, a strange Psychic Pokémon that lives in what is known as the Distortion World, and within this realm lied a powerful ancient Pokémon known as Giratina. It has been said that this ancient Pokémon was one of the first Pokémon to ever exist, along with Dialga, master of time, and Palkia, master of space. These three Pokémon were created by the first Pokémon in existence, and possibly the Creator of all life on our planet, Arceus. After Arceus created these three Pokémon, He created Uxie the Omniscient, Mesprit the Omnipresent, and Azelf the Omnipotent, to maintain peace and order between Dialga and Palkia. After their creation, He created many demi-Pokémon that controlled other aspects of the developing world. These demigods would continue to shift the world until their part was complete, and fall into a deep slumber until their need was needed once again.
Why did I explain all of this? Truth be told, I've always believed the Sinnoh mythos. I’ve read about it when I was in grade school. I had a friend who moved from Sinnoh to Kanto and he had a book full of myths and legends about the beginning of the universe. He let me borrow it and I read it religiously. I was completely fascinated by the ideas that were within the pages, and I knew from that day on that I would do anything to meet these Pokémon. This is the real reason why I joined team rocket; this is the reason why I increased in rank during Giovanni’s reign. I knew that Team Rocket had the potential for great things, and thanks to the conquest that I've achieved, Team Rocket gained power and knowledge from other fallen teams: Team Aqua, Team Magma, and Team Galactic. Their technology and ideals were transferred into the Team Rocket’s agenda, into my agenda. Little by little my dream will be achieved. All that’s needed is…
Before the executive could finish the video log, the glass wall behind her was hit by a blast, leaving behind a scene of chaos. The main building of the mega-corporation Rocket was attacked by a rebel group named Resistance. From the roof of the adjacent building the attacker returned her Tyranitar into her Poké ball and escaped from view, sending out her Pidgeot to escape the scene. The admin recollected her posture and slowly walked towards the hole, the strong gust pushing against her. He looked to the afternoon sky and saw the outline of a Pidgeot flying west towards the Johto region. She clenched her fist and stared at the outline in rage.

Our first attack was a failure. We had failed to bring down their leader and now we must face his fierce wrath. Even now he is plotting to attack us. All he needs to do is find our location and attack head on. Hopefully he didn’t send someone to follow our subordinates, or even better, didn’t spot which direction our subordinate fled. If he were to figure it out, and at our current power, we wouldn’t stand a chance. We have worked harder into recruiting more people into our resistance group against Team Rocket. Our constant preaching to others may seem like propaganda against a major corporation, but without us letting them know what is occurring behind closed doors, the average person will never know anything, and wont to a damn thing to change things. Hopefully some will heed our warnings, and will join our fight against Team Rocket.

Seven years have passed since our initial attack against Team Rocket. Our numbers may have grown over the years, but we are still completely overshadowed by their menacing army. We need more help now than ever. They’ve invaded Orre and are slowly moving their way to our base. We’ve managed to hold them off for the last seven months, but were running low on supplies and morale. It seems that Rocket has turned the entire world against Orre and its inhabitants, giving their pledge to Rocket for the betterment of the world. The lies they feed the masses. If only they knew. Then again, there are those individuals that join forces within the unharmed regions that rally peace and freedom of the Orre region, and there are the exceptionally few that rally against Rocket, though these groups truly are extremists in their cause. These individual groups bring a bad light to The Resistance by kidnapping important political figures, including their Pokémon. They push their agendas for peace and equality, but their actions speak otherwise. Their leader, if they even have one, may have other things in plan if it involves kidnapping and murder. There are more groups mimicking our group, and the extremist group all across the globe. Is our world really coming down to this? If this keeps up, all that will be left Is war and bloodshed.
Human existence has always been growing and evolving. With evolution come different points of views of everything around us. We continue to grow, expand, and complicate life. More options open, new technologies develop; more species of Pokémon are discovered, even more become extinct. It’s because of this that we’ve developed away from zero sum, but it’s also because of this that we could return to a zero sum. If war and extinction continues, life could become nil, and the only way to stop it is to bring down Rocket. Their corruption of the world is the cause, and the Resistance is the solution. This will end, and the Resistance will prevail.

Team Rocket and the Resistance have been in constant battle, with Rocket almost always the victor. Because of the Resistance’s power increasing, they’ve managed to hold back Rocket around the edges of Orre, maintaining a relatively safe region for its inhabitants. Of course, because of the propaganda Rocket has released against them the rest of the world is against them, with the few exceptions. Who will you choose to be in this fight? Will you be a part of Rocket, fighting for control and for an unknown cause, or will you be part of the Resistance, fighting to halt Rocket’s grasp over the world? Or maybe you’re simply a trainer in a world of war, and somehow caught in the middle of it all? It’s your story but remember this: there is more to the war than simply control.
