Welcome to Gaia! ::

Nah, half of the examples is just good playing, and any dm worth his salt will realize this.

No, what dm's dread is running a dungeon crawl and the mage says three magic little words: "I cast fireball." Betcha noone did the math on that one.
guess what? I run a D&D game at my school for a bunch of my friends

well they can be pritty immature about it and it made me mad when they wanted to play World of Darkness because that game (in my oppinion) is really only for the most mature of RPers...and now they outvoted me in playing it...

this game is supposed to be about drama and interaction and NOT combat...but one of them already wants a high-powered sniper rifle and another character is soaking a massive amount of points into a thing that will make him really REALLY fast...at liest i think so...THEY HAVENT EVEN LET ME READ ALL THE RULES YET?!?!?!

If you have ever played a Pen and Paper RPG? people think that running it is so easy....it is NOT...i had to think for the better part of a YEAR to come up wth their current game...and now they want me to think up a completely different one in less than a week!!! i cannot believe the gaul of them all!!

if any of you have run into this situation and have any ideas...PM me!!!

If they're sinking points into something that can increase their speed then they're probably playing as a vampire and the abilitiy they are putting points into is called Celerity. For every dot in Celerity the character gets one full extra action that can be split up into multiple actions like normal, or they could choose to use some as movement actions and blahblahblah. Basically, they get more turns per round.

As for the sniper rifle, lettem have it. It won't make a difference if you have access to some Werewolf source stuff. Give'em a little Lovecraftian horror, let them realize that power isn't the only way to win by throwing a Nexus Crawler their way the first time their characters botch some sort of ritual role. Throw things at them that heal fast. Or better yet, if they are a motley crew of sorts, as in a mixture of different supernaturals, throw them into the Dark Umbra, the dark side spirit realm.

Oh... I forgot, which World of Darkness is it? New or Original?

Friend told me this story.
Their in a town near the mountains, and find out that an army of orcs is coming to attack. With about a day to prepare, they dig holes, put barrels of ale in them, and wait. One guy uses his bow to light the barrels on fire and kill almost all of them. The half-celestial fighter flew over and killed the rest.

I doubt that ale is can do that. It's only like 2 to 5% alcohol, by my guessing.

Hm. I only borrowed and read through M:tA once, but I don't recall that ability. But I do recall that casting anything can get you hurt or killed if you go above coincidental magic. Figuring out a way to neutralize or kill off the mage in the campaign shouldn't be hard, unless he's very clever, in which case he deserves to live.
me: dose a 26 kill the mummies
DM: no
me: *rolls some dice* how about a 56
DM: wait i thought you just attacked
me: ya thats my 1.5 times strength in rage with two hits

Ok i thinck im sorry for orcs now saterday the only lady in my party kicked one in the nuts and got a nat 20.....she killed it insantly ....poor orc emo
PC: Today, I am playing CN Tartaric Githzeira Pegasus Monk with a 2d8 unarmed strike damage and flying.
DM: What about the Sparrow Hengokai Barbarian that you had last time?
PC: But this guy's better! He's almost as good as my godmoding Halfling Sorcerer who carried around a cart, and almost killed the paladin with a sling in one hit!
Other PCs: NOOOOO! NOT THE GODMODING SORCERERS!
Other PC: Can I play my new guy? He's an uber godmoder with a flying weasel with a class that I created that's overly cheap, and has 150 hp, even though he's only 5th level! And I have 186 skill points!
That conversation actually happened and all the characters are real. Our DM looked like they wanted to severely injure herself. It was.... interesting.
As I DM, I once got bamboozled into letting one of my PC's take a very defense-oriented prestiege class that was horribly broken.

Try as I might, I could never take the b*****d down without pulling off the ol' "Save Is One Higher Than Whatever You Rolled" on him.
