So the creative bug has gotten a strong hold on me recently, and as such, has got me thinking of running a game under one of the aforementioned systems. The system notwithstanding, my thoughts are as such:
Dawnforge
For those not familiar with this setting, it's basically a new world. There are no "Elder Evils," so to speak, no "Dungeons of Yore," nothing of the like. I'm not exactly sure how I'd like to run a campaign within this kind of setting, but the pure aspect of unexplored territory appeals to me greatly. This one would doubtlessly be an Open World where the PCs control the direction, and possibly what some encounters are. But as I said, I don't know how I'd run a campaign in this setting.
Midnight
Ah Midnight. The world of "What if Sauron Won." This one is easier to think of a campaign. One is of The Shadow, basically an Evil Campaign to continue the scourge and war against the Good races. I'd scavenge up a story for this side. This would be considerably easier on the PCs as they'd constantly have the upper hand; what-with being better equipped, having the only God on their side, and overall better off.
On the flip-side, the Good races could try and be one of the last lights that burn the brightest. I've always entertained the thought of those select heroes trying to be the Crusaders that push back the Shadow from one village at a time.
The above two have specific campaign books. Midnight is on the web
here. But to my knowledge, Dawnforge does not have the same luxury.
Generic Setting
This one is the easiest for setting, and books. Most everyone who has played under these systems know these worlds. Here I have a small premise of a "calm" world, and a set of heroes starting from their usual roots, to the possibility of starting the first real trial at exterminating all undead life on the world. But this one, as I flesh it out, feels awfully railroad-y to me. But maybe that's because I'm just trying to foresee each possibility.
But here I sit with three different concepts that are on my mind, but willing to run only one of them.
I'll put it to a vote; what do you guys want?
<EDIT 1>
Poll added
I would like to note that I do not enjoy starting at a high tier. At most, I may put starting levels at 3. But more than likely it'll be first level with some boosts to allow PCs to survive a bit longer on the HP front.
<EDIT 2>
Ignore one vote on Generic. It is merely so I may watch the poll.
<EDIT 3>
All of this shall be PbP.
