<3 this? </3 this? It might not matter! Changes coming today to the topic voting system to make it optional

Hey everyone,

Just wanted to give you a heads up on a feature I think a lot of you will really like - the ability to disable the voting feature in your thread. You know, that little <3 and </3 that some of you really love or have grown to despise? We'll be rolling out some changes to this feature today to make it optional for you whether you want to have that in your thread or not.

SDPlus Box Change

Hello! Just wanted to let you know, SDPlus Blind Boxes now work a little differently than they used to. When you open an SDPlus Blind Box you'll receive a package with a year on it, and that package will contain an SDPlus doll from the year listed. This affects all existing SDPlus Blind Boxes you may have in your inventory, as well as the ones you may receive in the future.

This was done due to a technical limitation of the system, but it also makes it easier to find the SDPlus dolls that you are looking for!

Ignore List Changes Coming Soon!

Coming soon to a Gaia near you, improved Ignore features! That's right, we're completely overhauling the old system and bringing it up to speed with where the site is today. It will actually work like we've wanted it to for a long time. We're planning to launch this early next week so keep your eyes open! For all the detailed changes and to give your feedback, check out this thread here.

Ignore List Changes Live!

The changes to the Ignore List mentioned here have been pushed live and should be available to all users now. As a bonus, we've also added username colors and titles back into Journals so you can tell who is staff and who isn't. If you notice any issues that are out of the ordinary with this, please let us know by creating a Bug Report thread here.

New BBCode Tag
Embed Vimeo content into Gaia forums.
Vimeo.com hosts user-submitted videos (like YouTube does) but has generally higher value content.

You can embed Vimeo videos using the new VIDEO BBCode tag:

If you aren't familiar with Vimeo, I suggest you start on their "Staff Picks" channel and peruse.

You can also embed YouTube links with the same new tag.

These two types of YouTube URLs work equally well:

Note: no special options (autoplay, looping, custom player controls UI, etc.) are available. We look through the video tag for a URL we recognize, pull out the hosting website (so far only "YouTube" and "Vimeo" are supported) and get the "ID" of the video from the URL.

Currently, the new tag only works in the "new" BBCode parser (only in forums, not in PMs or Guilds). This will change in the coming days.
The "YouTube" button will be replaced by a "Video" button.

If you find any issues, please reply to a similar topic or create your own in the Bug Reports forum.

Take our survey to help us pick a name for our upcoming mobile game!

Hey Gaians!

We've been working on a fun new mobile game for all of you who like to play games on your phone! We cannot give away too many details at present (we don't want to spoil the surprise) but we think you'll really like it!

One thing we DON'T have, however, is a name! We have lots of good ideas of course, but we cannot decide which name we like best. We'd like to ask if you would take our quick survey and help us pick the name. We've included some concept art from the game in the survey, and you can use that to guide your decision, plus it'll be a clue as to what might be going on in the game!

Purchasing on Android app is fixed (again)

Sorry a recent security addition had broken the G-Cash purchasing on the Android app. The problem had just been fixed.

For those who experienced problem in the past 2 days, please try the following:

- launch the android app
- select "Express Store"
- click on "Get G-Cash"
- select "500 Gaia Cash"
- wait for the Google Play screen to appear, then click cancel

The app should try to revive your last failed purchase that happened one or two days ago. If that doesn't work, please contact a Gaia admin and we'll get everything sorted out ASAP. Sorry for the trouble. sweatdrop
