Spoilers sitewide + more
All of the site should have spoilers in just a few minutes. This should include Forums, Guilds, PMs, Profiles, etc.

Also included in this patch:

Guilds are getting commas in their numbers
zOMG shop will now be able to work even with no Voice Fonts in the inventory
Misc. fixes to bad code that users don't see

New Meebo Bar

Meebo has updated their footer bar to the new version for Gaia Online. Some of the colors have changed on their end so we also had to update our colors. You might see some text that is not readable until the changes are synced up.

The new version of Meebo will continue to get updates while the old version is being deprecated. Functionality is the same but there are a few layout changes.

CashShop Changes & Faster Pages
The CashShop is moving to the same format as the gold shops. This should mean that you can view more item thumbnails at a time / per page.

Also, we are doing a major overhaul on some forum/guild pages. You won't see much different when you look at the pages but they should load much faster under certain circumstances (for users of modern browsers). It's likely that JavaScript such as "QuickReply", "PageJump", the "Share" button, "Like / Dislike" could all break temporarily (5-10 minutes) while the servers are getting upgraded.

Since these changes could possibly make it harder to post in forums temporarily, you can post issues directly to my profile comments if you like, but please wait 10 minutes to make sure it's not a temporary hiccup.

Monster Galaxy Facebook Connect Is No Longer Supported

Starting today we will no longer be supporting the Facebook Connect version of Monster Galaxy.

Players still have the option to play on Gaia with their Gaia Friends and earn Gaia gold using Viximo: here.

Players can also continue playing on Facebook itself with their Facebook Friends here.

Backyard Monsters Ending?

If you have played Backyard Monsters recently you probably noticed a message in the game stating that Backyard Monsters will be ending July 15.

Sadly, we were not notified of this. We've reached out to our contact at Viximo (a third party game publisher) but they have yet to get back to us with details on this. A search through Kixeye's (the creators of the game) forum revealed we aren't the only site the game is apparently being pulled from. So far messaging appears to indicate that those who wish to continue playing will only be able to do so through Facebook however until we hear back from the publisher this is not confirmed information.

We ask the community to continue to be patient while we work to get answers for you. Should the worse come to pass we are also looking into replacement games we believe will be a great fit for the community.

Backyard Monsters ending 7/15

We have confirmed that support for Backyard Monsters, per the creators request, will be ending for everyone except Facebook on 7/15/2012. As this is a third party game, there is nothing more we can do to try to keep the game on Gaia.

Independence Day!
Happy Independence Day!
Here in the United States, July 4th is when we celebrate our independence. (Details here) In celebration, we are giving out an item for posting certain keywords around the forums. One of the keywords has already been discovered, but there are others. Work with your fellow Gaians to figure out what to post for the item grant. If you need help getting started, I recommend perusing the GCD for further info.

Beach Party update
We've added some more items to the list of items that will allow you to enter the Beach Party forum. We also fixed bugs with items in the list that should have granted you access to the forum but weren't.

For details on what specifically was fixed/added, please see this thread.

Side notes
The Independence day mini-event is currently schedule to end at midnight July 5th.

The Beach Party mini-event is currently set to run the month. (but is subject to change)
