The species that most commonly nests in the regions around
Taniwhapuia are known as Levitrias pacifica to scientists, named after the infamous sea
monsters "Leviathans" and the ocean in which they reside, the Pacific Ocean.

Levitria are a cold-blooded, reptilian species who generally lead nomadic lives, forming small
packs called "gatherings" in order to hunt and care for young. They hatch from eggs about the
size of a basketball, and stay around their mother until around four weeks of age. When fully
grown, can easily reach the length of a blue whale, at around 25 metres, making the Levitrias
pacifica the largest species of sea serpent in the world.

Long and heavily scaled, levitria usually range in the dull green-blues to murky purples, although
there are many grey, brown, and and blue varieties. More unusually are their luminescent
tentacle-like protrusions known as "fronds". Each frond is tipped with a circular patch of colour,
unique to the levitrias. Scientists have reported that in some levitria, the circular patches glow,
much like the bioluminescence of several species of fish and insects.

Growth stages.

Levitria society is governed through a loose form of matriarchy. The gatherings are led by the
strongest female, although patriarchs have been observed in rare cases. Not all levitria live in
gatherings, however. Occasionally, outcast or lone levitria may wander the seas with only
their young or yearly mate. Most levitria are not particularly loyal to their gatherings; instead,
they usually stay with one gathering until it runs out of beneficiaries, and then joins another
gathering. Most gatherings are small and range around three to ten levitria, although they are
known to form gathering "alliances," in which multiple gatherings group to form a single large
gathering, oftentimes ranging up to fifty levitria in one alliance.

Naming Rules:

◄ FULL NAMING RULES ►

Levitria are not named by the parents, but through a peculiar system of self-observation and
"enlightenment" of their names. They are nameless as eggs, and remain nameless as hatchlings
until they "discover" their name. During an approximately week-long period that starts when
they hatch, the hatchling "discovers" its name through exploring its natural environment and
community. Levitria names usually come in the form of a description of the hatchling, using a
combination of a verb and its subject that describes the actions of the hatchling during its
naming period. Although most Levitria use this action-description form, some Levitria find their
names to come from natural origins.

02 ► There are three types of flatsales: growing eggs, growing hatchlings, and adults. Levitria found in flatsales are usually simply-coloured and without edits or unusual traits. Flatsales can range from speed flatsales to flaffles to anything else we happen to think of. For more information and individual, please refer to the flatsale rules posted at each event.

RAFFLES:
01 ►► Ranges from free raffles to 100g per ticket.
02 ► Raffles are usually for rarer levitria than those found in flatsales. We usually have a mix of free raffles and paid raffles, where paid raffles are usually for edited or unusual levitria. For specific raffle rules, please read the raffle rules posted at every event.

AUCTIONS:
01 ►► SB: 5k || MI: 1k || AB: Depends on the auction. || Items are accepted at 90% mid-TekTek. || 15 minute anti-snipe guard.
02 ► Auctions are usually for rare, edited levitria never found in raffles or flatsales. While some do not have to be roleplayed, some auctions are combined with RP requirements. In these cases, bidders must submit a roleplay sample along with their bid. For more information, refer to the auction rules posted at every event.

RP PROMPTS:
01 ►► Ranges from free to 30k.
02 ► One of Levitrias' most popular methods to obtain a levitrias. Most of the levitria offered through these prompts have some form of RP requirement. These levitria are usually edited, an unusual colour, and will not be found in raffles or flatsales. Some come with special restrictions or benefits. Prompted sales can range from free to a hefty price tag for special levitria. Occasionally, there are "custom" prompt sales, in which the colourist will colour a levitrias based on the winning RP prompt reply.
