Let's play a game. I'll start off by giving a cliche, something that's been done to death, or even just a genre convention.
The next person will give us a twist and a way to make it not suck, and another cliche.
Note that these cliches can be anything from "The princess who doesn't want to be" to "The blood ran crimson from her wrists"-- i.e. descriptive or plot conventions/cliches. Likewise, the person who responds can write some sentences or paragraphs or just explain how they'd handle it.
