Welcome to Gaia! ::

It has come to our attention that far too many of the Highest Donator Contest result in Scamming. sad Because of this, we have come to the decision that this type of contest is no longer allowed on Gaia. We are allowing all current contests two weeks to finish -- all currently running Highest Donator contests must be completed by April 18th.

Beginning tomorrow, April 5th, any newly created threads for Highest Donator contests will be removed from the forums, and the thread creator will be notified that they are no longer allowed.

After April 18th, any new Highest Donator threads will be removed with an official warning.

Thank you everyone for understanding and helping keep Gaia a fun place. 3nodding
What is a Highest Donator Contest?
    A Highest Donator Contest is when a member creates a thread, where many other members will give them gold or items, and they give a prize to the person who gives them most gold or items. The person running the contest will keep all bids, regardless of who the winner is.

How is this different than a Lottery?
    With a Lottery, members are purchasing tickets or simply putting their name down as someone who would like to gamble for the prize offered. There is no incentive to give as much gold or items as possible, everyone is welcome to enter for the specified amount. All members entering have an equal chance of winning the lottery

How is this different than an Auction?
    In an Auction, only the person who has the highest bid will give the gold or items to the member who is running the contest.
