Welcome to the Matope Multi-Cultural Festival of Abundance Event!

If you're unfamiliar with the shop, click the image above to head over to the main thread and read up about the world of Matope and the Kimeti that inhabit it, as well as the rest of our shop's rules. It is especially important that you read up on the naming conventions for the world, as they are very specific, and if you do not know the rules then you might be excluded or disqualified from certain events.

This event will begin June 1st and end June 30th.

NOTE: All contests and events end at 10pm EST unless otherwise noted.

THE FESTIVAL OF ABUNDANCE

The Festival of Abundance occurs at the height of spring and is designed to celebrate the enormous life in the Swamp at this time. For the younger kin, the Festival of Abundance may be a time simply for feasting till the belly aches, but for mature kin, the night times of the Festival are a time, quite simply, for unrepentent romance. For weeks following this festival, the swamp is full of clutches of new eggs.

With all of the MotherFather's children reunited in the Swamp, this annual festival has grown larger than any have ever seen. With the arrival of the Kimeti's cousins came the different springtime rituals and practices of the lands beyond the Swamp. Gathered for celebration, kin share these practices with each other as they all feast and play games with each other.

THIS EVENT

This is a pet-centric event -- meaning pretty much all the prizes are pets and familiars! A lot of them are limited-permission in some way, and all of them are beautiful. They can be won in various games and contests, from dice games to art contests to writing to scavenger hunts and madlibs! Each contest has its own small supply of amazing pets that will be up for grabs for the next month. And, on top of that, there are ample opportunities for RP...

Special Event Threads:
These are the major points of the festival, start here!

Festival of Abundance Prompts - species-themed RP prompts that can be fulfilled alone or together for RP points
Mixer - a random / staff-pick mixer where kin can be randomly paired with a mate
Wolf Breedings - the official, and permanent, opening of wolf breedings, with an RP req

Full-length Event Threads
Events that run the entire length of the event! Note that these events are inspired by species, but you do NOT have to be that particular species to participate! Any kin can participate in any event.

[kiokote] Hopscratch - play a game of hopscratch for a shot at some plains pets!
[acha] Feast Preparations - help prepare a great feast for some food-ish pets!
[totoma] Sparring - spar against other kin for some aggressive pets!
[zikwa] Echo Poetry - write an echoing poem for a shot at some dark pets!

Shorter Event Threads:
These contests are shorter, lasting only a week or less.
