@ Superstition: most of the time I meet up with one lonely little cuttlefish or Hermit Cat in my wanderings. Only ONCE did I play a tank with two active cuttlefish and not since.

Now I am wondering why that is? I know people who have only just cuttlefish or a whole LOT of hermit cats (I dont see too many snails) and yet only one active critter out of them all almost ever? I know I complained about this before and yes, it WOULD make it more fun chasing two or three of them around. (Hermit Cats are FAST little buggers!!)

Since cuttlefishes and hermit cats are free, I doubt that they will let them drop more than 'sometimes' or 'once in a while'. Though this would be funny since a hermit cat has a higher gold max than an octopii. (hermit 150g; octopii 100g).

The nerf on the watermeats is ridiculous. I played 3 tanks, one with a single watermeat, 1 with a single turtle and 1 with a single dark knight fish. On every tank I caught one gold increase and some speed ups / downs (on single fish tanks I don't try to avoid these because they dont make a difference at those lousy drop rates). I made 135g on the watermeat, 155g on the turtle and 178g on the dark knight. So what's the point in buying expensive watermeats if cheaper fishes give more gold? I wouldn't recommend watermeats anymore unless they sell them for 299 cash each or undo the nerf. They are not worth their price.

It was a Great Gold Sink for them when I used my 3,000,000 gold to buy 15 Aquarium Bundle #4 off the MP.

I thought I could sell the extra fish to obtain 15 Watermeat at a cost more like 1.5 million.

Now that those meats are in my tank, they are soulbound, and the only reason for buying them was because of their pwnage in bootygrab...

...or should I say former pwnage.

I didn't pay real $$$ for them, but tell that to the 15 people running around with MY gold.

Actually, that wasn't a gold sink. It may have been a gold sink for YOU, but that was not gold that left Gaia through the shop. It simply went to another player. sad A gold sink is when you buy something from the gold shop in exchange for an item. Or any action where you use your gold and it isn't given to another person in the community.

Good news, it seems that the devs realized that they made a mistake and fixed it. I just grabbed 5 of your watermeats and made 1125g. They're still nerfed, since it's not possible anymore to max them out. But as it is like now, it's fair.

Yeah, the frequency is slower now. But I think it's okay, they drop at a fair rate now. Thanks.

But I must admit the increasing, decreasing, increasing again, decreasing again, etc. is confusing me and I'm unsure what will come next. I don't know if I should put another fish in my tank or not. My Octopii will die soon (maybe tomorrow), so I've planned to put another watermeat in my tank. But now I'm not so sure about it...

I don't think they're dropping double coins again. I just had a tank with 2 watermeat, and I was only getting 2 coins at a time (one from each). Although the drop rate seemed to be faster. I still can't max them out, even when I get 2 coin power-ups. So they aren't totally back to what they should be.

Well, I'm glad to know that Gaia seems to be realizing they're making mistakes - even if it does mean increasing, decreasing (horribly), increasing and decreasing again.

But what I'd love to see from Gaia (and not the mods - but from the people pulling the business decision strings), is a formal and emphatic apology. One of the best things you can do in a situation where you find yourself wrong - and this is from Dale Carnegie's How To Win Friends And Influence People (and form his course, which almost all prominent business people swear by) - is to admit, quickly and emphatically, that you are wrong.

Meats are ineed back to dropping two coins at a time, but the frequency is still reduced. They will still max out at 300, but that's really hard to manage unless you get lucky with multiple gold increase powerups during a Booty Grab game. I managed to max out a meat only once since the most recent fix.

The most recent tweak in the drop rates is better than the other day. However, I made more in a ninja fish and Lila game than a Lila and watermeat game, so yeah something is still wrong with this most recent tweak. If they want to nerf watermeats then they should go back to where they would go black before the game ends once you've reached 300. I wish Gaia would make up its damn mind about this nerfing.

I understand your beef... But they're trying to figure out the gold system right now, to try and figure out what will up the value of gold. Booty Grab, unfortunately, is counteractive to that, introducing massive amounts of gold into the system. They had to lessen the odds and goldgrants just for that.

Who knows, fish might get un-nerfed. But right now, the booty grab's been limited so we can maybe get this gold inflation thing under control. sad

It's still possible to make a lot of gold, as far as I've noticed. I just B-grabbed, like, 2k in 20 minutes. That's still pretty good. *shrug*

Be glad they didn't nerf it more. I for one wish they would.

Actually, it is technically a gold sink because 2% of what they paid goes away, poof! That's why the sales tax is there, as a gold sink in the marketplace.
