This movement really needs more power, I've been spreading word to people I've been talking to... but I don't post enough for it to help if it's in my signature.
It really does.
Any ideas?

I really wish I had any, a lot of people are against the movement in general claiming we're basically just too poor or other crap.... All I can think of is spreading word in GD and CB(god help us.) and signatures.

CB can be tough, but it's also my favorite forum in Gaia: random, resilient, open-minded and generous. Yes, you may come across a thing or two that will hurt your eyes, but have faith in CB. They're an awesome bunch XD

One thing we can try is ask for the support of CBs megathreads. There are some gigantic threads in there, some with 800k pages.
Some of these owners might be on board and perhaps can help spread the word :3

Let me know if you want me to start pm and talking to people. I don't know all of them, but I have no problem trying. Just let me know what the message is emotion_yatta

Also, I think that asking people to contribute banners and buttons (smaller banners) is always nice.

I've been on Gaia since 2004, and I still remember when 20k was a lot for an item classified as 'rare' (example, I bought Penguin Slippers for 16k back in the day). I've never been an avid buyer of Gaia Cash, but I have sunk at least $100 into GC in the past year or so since I started taking on paypal commissions. I never seem to have enough for the 'good items', but if there's an evolving item I like than I might splurge on it.

While the Offers are a great thing, there never seems to be any available when I go to do them. It doesn't matter what time it is during the day, but that seems to be the case with everyone. The other offers are there to complete as well, but even those can only go far and you don't always qualify for them.

I probably won't be purchasing any more Gaia Cash for a while, and I would like to see Gaia focus more on items that work like EI's and what not for Gaia gold. There is a serious lacking of gold shop updates, and these flash sales for Gaia Cash items are getting out of hand.

You know, it never crossed my mind how few gold shop updates there actually are.
I see cash shop updates all the time that I guess I forget that gold shops can actually be updated. So far this entire year we've had how many gold shop update? 2? 3?
Probably enough to count on one hand. The ratio of gold shop updates to cash shop updates is rather horrid.

Actually 9.

9-03-13: Gold Shop Update: Barton Boutique Grab Bag
8-20-13: Gold Shop Update: Back to School Blitz
7-23-13: Gold Shop Update: Casual Summer Styles
6-19-13: CrosStitch
5-21-13: Salon Durem Update: Hairstyles, Eyes & Beards!
4-24-13: CrosStitch
3-22-13: Gold Shop Update: Regency and Faerie!
2-22-13: CrosStitch
1-22-13: Gold Shops: New high-end styles, tropical garments and more!

I'll have to say though, some of the GS updates this year seem to be rather small. sweatdrop The Back to School Blitz update was a disappointment for me. January's GS update was my favourite because they finally ******** made Ao Dai for me to express my Viet heritage through my avatar.

Yet they implemented a 2% tax how long ago? Wouldn't that be touching the MP in some form or manner?
Around 2007, is my best guess; when they removed the Vending pass being a separate feature and combining it with the trading pass. I guess, it depends how one sees things. Maybe they can argue that it's an indirect control. What they probably meant is they won't be adding MP caps. They can affect supply of items by controlling rarity or releasing them for cash options based on actual price, but this control is basically external. Users still control the listing of prices.

Enduring Shapeshifter

Well I put it in my signature for when I do post, so maybe it'll get some attention.. I'm behind this movement 100%.. granted I admit I desperately tried to get some of the cancer boxes with my gold to be able to last in Neo Gaia on worst case scenario and ended up hurting myself more.

Distinct Explorer

I'm damn proud to say that I already don't support buying Gaia Cash or even cash shop items out of the MP.
With all this crap Gaia's doing to drive its own site into the ground, and pissing off its userbase; especially no to listening to us, I don't think they deserve a penny of GC. From anyone.

Gaia is not only a place that we hang out, it's also a company to make money. Lot of people work to make this site a good place. And you know, creating a a site like gaia is not easy and cheap. They need our support to improve gaia. Not only for improving, they need money for their daily life too. Because it's a business and no one make such a site for free. I'm not a rich person irl, I only donate 10$ in a month to gaia but if a person donate more than 50$, it's his/her choice.

You said people leave gaia for this problem. Well, people should realize that online community is not a free community and won't be a free community ever. Online games, forums, applications, they all are created for money. Without our support, all of them will vanish. Some non online game publishers stopped making non-online games and started to make online games. Thats because people download non-online games for free from torrent or something. But online game communities make more money in these days.

So, you should think once more before complaining. Nothing on earth is free. No one waste the time for nothing. People waste lot of time to make these online communities.

I've been on this site for almost 10 years. I can honestly say I spend majority of my time on Gaia and Gaia alone. I understand that Gaia is a business and wants to be profitable. The whole chaos behind this theory is that all these sales are not truly sales and ruining Gaia's economy. In the history of me playing on this site, I have never seen inflation so bad. I have never seen Gaia look like it was struggling for money.

If you are running a business it should be about the customers who are buying and then your interests. I understand that Gaia has a new building that they are working in, and then they set up play time for themselves ( I am getting this information straight from their job site) with other non-necessary expenses for the company at our expense. I don't mind paying for their dental plan, but I rather have the Admins working together to listen to the users and have a better structured cash shop. When I say this, I mean, I want gold to mean something in the end. My worth on Gaia was higher than normal users because I have been playing so long, and thats fine that they can release some items for the new users to enjoy. Now since so much has been released no price seems reasonable anymore for an item. We don't know what would be a stable price for an item anymore for the fear that it would be re-released, lose the gold, buy the cash and repeat.

Sure, I would love to donate to Gaia when I can. I love and worship this site, but I feel like is "Gaiacashonline" now and it makes me unreasonably upset over something I have been "working" on for years has become unreachable unless I have Gaia cash.

Two of Gaia's big assets are its community and the stability of the gold market. Lots of online worlds have had runaway inflation which was rapidly followed by a shutdown as everyone left.

This totally feels like the new CEO read some MBA study about how to monetize an online community. Now he's the pilot of an airplane randomly flipping switches and he's enjoying all the sounds he hears but doesn't realize he's shredding the engines.
The message needs to gets out to kids to be honest, and people who buy during the one-off sales because they think it's a good deal or something special and won't happen again next week. Or because they don't think the site will shut down within two months.

How Gaia still has supporters is beyond me.

Do you really, honestly, truly believe in your heart that Gaia uses your money for good cause?
Do you really think that they're not already making decent profit margins? lol

Do you know that a good business with a clear mind and plan for the future, like Gaia's old persona, can obtain funds elsewhere? Doing something detrimental like causing an angry client base just seems like the complete opposite of what a company should be doing if it wants to survive.

Things I said are not only for gaia. I've tried lot of online games, forums etc. And all of the players complain for the real cash problems. I do agree with you; gaia and other companies don't use all the money for the games. But as I said, it's a business. Of course they should care about their players/ users. For example, there are many people who are against Flynn's Booty and Chest. But also, there are many people who buy Flynn's Booty and Chest. That means some players hate it and some players buy it. So, not all of the players against market inflation. Some thinks that the market inflation is the thing that makes gaia gaia. I myself am against Flynn's things but as long as people buy it, I can't say something bad about it. We are sharing this website. We love something, we hate something. Thats the game.

Witty Loiterer

When I joined in 2004, a friend introduced me to the site and I was like this is cute.
I never once thought about money.
I was a kid, so why did I have to?
I used to roleplay on the 4kids forums.
(Oh God why?)
When they shut down and reset, everything was pretty much lost for me.
So I remembered Gaia.
And I came in for real in 2007.
And I was so excited.
It was a fresh start.
The avatars and the community were better.
Everyone was a little more mature.
I started roleplaying in Barton.
My first RP was 300 pages and went to 2009.
I then started a new roleplay that has been slowly trotting forward ever since.

I made friends on Gaia.
Real friends.
I started to get interested in the avatars.
I liked the art.
I thought that the Cash Shop was interesting when it was introduced.
Ten dollars to get really cool items! A bunch of them!
I actually asked for Cash Cards so I could have my Gaia and my little sister could have her Club Penguin.
I snickered at how the latter practically needed a membership card.

But that's kind of what Gaia has become.
I used to buy a card to use some money,
but now I have much better things to spend it on.

Recently, I was so excited to crack a million gold.
Then it felt hollow.
I thought there'd be so much I could get with it.
But it's like I'm sitting on feathers, looking up at a huge sky.
Everything is still beyond my reach.

Sainte Ciels were one of the last things I bought.
And they both sky rocketed.
When Redemption came out I was so excited.
And now I can't even get it because of the ridiculous inflation.

I introduced friends here recently and they thought I had a lot of gold.
I laughed.

What is a lot of gold these days?
Real money?
I still love Gaia.
But now all I see are complaints instead of interest in the story.

So is it any wonder I want to sign on with this?
May I?
I want to save a community I grew up with.
