Let's claim we are the 99% of Gaia, but even though we are claiming this, we can act like the 1% while claiming to be the 99% because our Gaia 99% is not like the "real" 99%.

Lady, if you truly believe what you just said, and expect people with a clear mind to buy it, then I got a bridge I want to sell to you. But honestly, I don't think me being in this thread is going to serve any further purpose. You guys are convinced of what you want to believe, and nothing is going to tell you otherwise. The easiest way to combat cash usage would be to stop using the site altogether. At the very least, don't even save up gold for cash items.

I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not trying to act like the 99% or the 1%. I do believe we are all on the same page about our feelings on the inflation, and Flynn.

I find it weird people get so mad at the occupy association, even if its a "silly site or cause" , the best way to tell people what this thread is about is to make an association to what people know. and everyone has used it for their own causes. I don't think PROTEST GAIA CASH is as catchy and may not get peoples interest as something that was in the news and was a big deal.
So yeah you can be "BUT ITS NOT HELPING THE POOR, THIS IS VIRTUAL" but it matters to people on here enough to make a thread and sign the petition.
PLUS since the petition I've seen small strides gaia has put in announcements and staff alerts to keep us a little more informed. I'd like to think it was because of threads and"complaints" like this.

After all the profit from this sale, maybe they will throw us a bone and banish Flynn, or keep GC out of the xmas event, something. It's not like they are hurting for money after this sale.

Yep that's what I say, if you want to the know the money they made, go see it for yourself and you be amazed in a bad way of course. xp

Edit: I just noticed something, isn't this far enough money to update features which they have forgotten to do?

As am I... wearing expensive things - and I used, key term there, used to buy GC. That stopped about two good years ago. Life got expensive.
I was buying about eh, $15 a month or so. I made my profit off getting lucky in RIGs. Before inflation really kicked in, I would say I was upper middle class, in the Gaia economy. I had to quest for things, but it was at least feasible back then. Now, I have really no hope of moving my quest bar for Rainy Day without buying significant amounts of GC. ******** that. I have bills to pay.

What we are wearing, has NO baring on what we see in Gaia now. They are ignoring users, firing beloved artists, many loyal employees are jumping ship, ditching loved features, and selling pixels, pixels for hundreds of dollars, IMO intentionally inflating the bejesus out of the market to "justify" the exorbitant price of pixels and make more profit. I now cannot mention Gaia's CEO by name in threat of being banned? What bullshit is this my friend.

This is not the Gaia I like, I would be more apt to buy lower priced, higher quality items, from a site that shows its worth purchasing pixels from. Currently, this site is not worth supporting. I recently started an avi from scratch (long story - this account was perma banned but I appealed and won), a good MONTHS worth of hitting booty grab limits, and I was nowhere fast. Gaia is NOT fun to play anymore if you do not have an established avatar. This does not support growth of the user base. This site is NOT fun if you don't have money. Its pay to play now.

The main reason I stick around. I have a support thread to run. I keep an eye on the thread and go about my day.

I understand your argument but it's a bit ridiculous in my opinion to consider her points invalid because she's wearing Cash items. If you compare it to animal rights activists wearing animal print clothing, then yes I get it. But this doesn't seem quite as bad. Perhaps she bought all the items with Gold. Perhaps they were donated. Perhaps she bought the Cash back before it became such a big issue to her. I don't think people who are against Cash need to not wear the items because of it. We're against Cash, not the items.
