Its a sad truth that this whole cash shop seems to be the way Gaia wants to go...I wouldn't be surprised if they actually tried to get rid of gold all together and that's why they are messing with gold so much. GC makes them more money, gold doesn't. GC is what they want so they can get your money.

I think they should also make gold shop items the same quality in Dernier Cri. The items there are nice, but they are very limited for that amount of gold. They only have like...1 pose. That would be a great idea. They should stop pouring all the greatest stuff into the cash shop.

This business model isn't a success. You're looking at short term improvement that causes long term damage. Players sick of the current management decisions and excuses will leave. I hear there are other sites like Gaia and although i've been around for years i am sorely tempted if they release anything like the old zOMG. As Gaia is now i will not be spending a dime to support the money hunger.

Making money always tops any other need, even pleasing its customers. It's just something that happens. I've been here since 04 and its very much a part of me. I've learned to role play here. I've discovered deviant art and other art avenues through here. I've made many friends that I love.

IMO, I think that gaia should put more effort into the gold shops. The gold shops and their items have one pose or are of lesser quality than the items coming out in the CS. All anyone might use them for is an accessory here or there. There's little to no point to them.

I remember that I used to quest for some Gold Shop items back in the day :3 Like the butterfly wings way back when I first started. They were 40k and I was a noob. Those were almost MC (at the time) quality.

Why not do away with MC strictly for cash and make them able to be purchased with gold? Maybe in like DenierCri? Hardly anyone cares about MCs anymore anyway, the main money is with EIs and CIs anyway. You could still purchase them for 250GC or it's equivalent in Gold and make them available only for the month. It would be an amazingly helpful gold sink.

The only other thing I would want for Gaia to know is that if they're having a problem with money they should let their users know. If people know where their money is going they'll donate to keep something they love alive.

They should remove the ads for users that buy above a certain amount of GC each month or something.

That would be a FANTASTIC incentive for people to use AutoCash on its own.

I can't tell you how annoying it is for me when I try to get dressed to make sure that my mouse isn't over any ad that's going to make noise or pop out at me. Like when I put on my finished EI and their pose list pops out, i have to fight with ads to pick an item to wear it's obnoxious. I would pay to have that removed. ~.~

I agree with just about everything in the OP about things that the people here would like to see from Gaia. I started playing on Gaia around the end of 2004 and I have come and gone several times. I don't hate the cash shop, though I was annoyed when it first came out. I liked it when they added new games that made getting gold easier, even though it inflated prices a little bit. I still remember when you could actually win at slots... and I remember how excited everyone was when zOMG came out. Though you might think I'm a frequent cash shopper from my avi, I'm not really. I used to donate for MCs ages ago and I don't mind dropping 20$ here and there for GC. I pretty much stalk the marketplace and check out what looks like it's going to go up and then sink gold into it. I also just randomly buy stuff I like. After several months or years when I realize I don't care for those items, I sell them and get new stuff. I always sink my gold into items and so I've been able to keep up with inflation. Every now and then I see something I want so I'll sell something I don't like that much but I tell you these days I am afraid to sell any of the things I really like. I'm afraid I'll never be able to afford them again if I sell them now. Not only that but I'll try to sell things at reasonable prices and then I see the people who buy from me reselling the items they bought after jacking up the prices. Not just jacking it up a little, I mean these people are attempting to jack up the price by as much as 500k. Since it might be the only one of it's kind in the market, like an SDPlus, they don't have much competition. It's really sick. I see my investments into items as sort of like buying stocks, sometimes I'm right and sometimes I'm wrong but just turning around and selling something after jacking up the price seems terrible to me. People can only do this if they have the money to buy every single one of the same item to eliminate the competition first and apparently there are people like that out there. I feel really bad for the newbies starting out. If I didn't have my "investments" I would never bother trying to get new items from the marketplace. I think at the least something needs to be done about the market inflation and adding more stuff to the gold shops would surely help. I'd love to see them add more stuff to the houses and things like that. Why not add another next larger size to the houses that is really expensive? Or a second floor maybe?

So basically I will sign the petition and I have a suggestion for the marketplace which I don't know how good it is but I'll throw it out there anyways.

I know we already have "trades" and you can trade with your friends if you have what they want, but it would make it so much easier to sell for reasonable prices in the marketplace if there was a "friends only" option for the stores. Then you could just add the people you like/trust to your friend list and sell only to them. It might make it easier for Gaians to help other Gaians who are questing or can't afford to pay the standard marketplace pricing. You can charge a price that is "reasonable" or at the least "discounted" for just your friends and know that some jerkface isn't going to buy it and resell because he sees that it's way lower than the usual market price. I think I might also post this suggestion in a separate thread today to see what others think about it.
