Never have bought GC. And to be very honest, I'm tempted to, but I'll be holding off (even after I start working) until these issues are fixed eradicated.

I'd like to sign.

I was so pissed when I saw flynn's booty return AGAIN
a few days ago...... that I added the NPC Flynn to my ignore list. Probably
a pointless act but damn did it feel good.

its becoming more and more unbearable to even visit this site my eyes arnt liking this very well...

Hallowed Conventioneer

I went to a convention, and DJ Helsing made a very good point about the GC.

He said, "We offer no membership charges, you don't have to pay to play this site, and it will always be that way. However, we do have bills to pay, and it's expensive to keep this site running. So for those who wish to support us and can do so, have the option to buy things out of the Cash Shop. These users who then buy the cash items from the shop, have the option to sell them, in the marketplace, which many do, so other users have the option to buy them."

He then went on to talk about how everything they do is researched by a team of economists so that nothing will effect the gaia marketplace. But I'm not going to quote the entire thing.

I am, to say the least, not seeing any of what he said for the second part.
The first part, I accept and yes, appreciate that it is free. I've made amazing friends on this site.

But now, the items I wanted are so far out of reach, it's [********] ridiculous.
And I'm sure everyone is disgusted.

I have spent $80 worth of my money on Gc over the course of this year. I work minimum wage, and cannot afford to spend hundreds on it. So I honestly can only spend a bit when I have leftover cash to sacrifice.
That $80 helped supported the site, hell that $5 minimum people do helps support the site.
That $1000 halo sale helped support the site.

If Gaia is going to allow inflation to flourish, and not offer GOLD OPTIONS to users who cannot spend money on gaiacash, then I will have to say that I will be quitting.

Effective gold sinks need to be put in place, and people need to stop feeding the inflation.
because right the, the economy on this site is (to say the least) so ******** up

I URGE THE CONGRESS. INFLATION MUST BE BATTLED.

I am going to say something here, and keep in mind I am pretty much pulling this out of the air so it may not make sense, but Gaia is using up a lot of site space keeping dead accounts.

I know, for a fact, that there are MANY accounts on this site that are perma-banned because they were troll accounts. Back in my days of frequenting the anime section, there was a specific troll who must have had close to or over 50 accounts all banned for posting inappropriate content.

And these accounts all have profiles that Gaia is still paying to keep on the server space. And why? The account is banned, and the user never comes back with honest intentions. So would it not make sense for Gaia to get rid of such accounts?

Inactive accounts are another matter that I will not touch on, but I am pretty sure that a moderator or high-ranking user can still see posts even if they have been deleted. If Gaia could delete these dead accounts, it might take some strain off of the servers.

I do not know if this makes sense, but it is a thought.

I am not even against spending cash at all.

Hell, I LIKED giving Gaia some of my money.

I just wish they would never EVER bring gold for cash back (Flynn, just go away).
This inflation is a huge joke.

Once they introduce a proper goldsink, the market goes back to normal AND they promise to never release a gold generator for cash again, I will spend my money on Gaia cash.

Until then, Gaia can kiss my wallet's butt.

They can't, I've heard staff answer this suggestion many times. The profiles and accounts work on a number system--if they delete one, it all falls apart.

they could, though, delete all the information from the profile and just leave it there to rot. . . but I doubt they will.

What Beauty of Grace said, on top of the fact that I have several friends who will disappear for life reasons for YEARS (the longest they have been away is 3 years or so) only to come back and stay around for weeks to months before life hands them the short end of the stick again. So when it comes to inactive accounts that are not banned, they should really leave those alone, because you never know who is gonna come back and when.

»»» I said banned accounts, not inactive accounts. As long as the account is not banned and had a legitimate post history it would be left alone.

That's disappointing. Another site I'm a member of also works off of the number system, but it's behind the scenes and only shows through the avatar links. They delete accounts all the time for inactivity, and nothing has fallen apart on them.

If one can do it, why can't another?

Rainbow Succubus

I joined in 08. It took me 3 months to make 10k. Back then almost all the items seemed prohibitively out of reach to me, so I started buying GC to get things I wanted.

This isn't a new problem, it's gotten significantly worse.

I have had no problem with any cash shop item until flynn's.

I want them not to release it again. It's not the inflation in itself, it's the instability. No item has a reasonably steady value anymore. I don't want to buy or sell on the MP, I don't even understand what my items are worth anymore, it fluctuates too much.

Its sad how I can relate to that.

After it ended I was hoping this would all blow over. I guess not.

Unfortunately, I have gotten Flynn's Booty a couple times recently, and now I regret giving Gaia my money. Hell yeah, the gold is nice, but...I don't feel good about it...

At least I gave away a good amount of it in gifts to friends. ._.
