new rally has never worked for me and I did explain this in another post somewhere very recently but I have tried multiple devices, multiple ip's and it has been like this since day 1
others see me but I don't see anything but a black screen and it always starts out for me like its loading but then NADA nothing happens but blacking out. others can see me but I cant see anything
cant give feedback when all I see is a blank screen but since all the other games for me work I have to assume its something in the rally itself


Hello friend, sorry to hear it. There are afew situations where I believe that could happen. The major one being the use of a non-WebGL 2.0 compatible browser. Make sure to be using the lastest Chrome or Firefox based browsers. Edge is chrome too, so should be fine. After that make sure your browser has hardware acceleration enabled. In chrome, you can find this under the settings search bar by searching "accel" for graphics acceleration. If you have modern browsers and have made sure hardware acceleration is enabled and you still have problems you may have to investigate why WebGL 2.0 doesn't render on your devices.

I am using chrome version 130.6
of course the current computer I am using was checked out from a library so I guess they have it set to not support that but its odd that all the other games on here work unless they don't need 2.0?
ok zomg don't work in browsers either but that's a whole other beast but everything else does work
now that I think about it the library computers in my area didn't support the rally either. so it must be an administrative function by them.
my previous computer crashed so I am unable to check on that device but I remember I could not get there on that computer before the crash too


The other games were written in Flash, afaik, and didn't requite a more sophisticated rendering API like WebGL although I'm unsure how the Flash emulation works so maybe it uses WebGL 1.0? Unsure, haven't dug into that. But a lot of modern webgames nowadays will take advantage of WebGL especially if they aren't exclusively 2D.

This looks and plays like an NFT game.
25 pages to go through (and I will eventually) to see what others think because I am curious, but I don't see the value here. Not as it is. And I think it's going in the wrong direction. I'm keen to have a deeper discussion on this but so far:
-This looks like a filler piece. It doesnt bring more depth or story to the towns nor does it add anything to the over RP of the website.
-Who keeps pushing the Racing/Rally angle? It has been here for a decade and still feels just as awkward as the Aquarium, Fishing, and Lake Kindred. At what point are the dev's going to roll back and clean up instead of running on legacy ideas?
-Where is the separation from IRL to RP? Online persona should reflect the Avatar, thats the point on Gaia. If you have made a 3D chat room with no focus on the RP, you could have made this with 2D sprites and uploaded it to NewGrounds.

It doesnt feel like a project with a direction or end goal in relation to the rest of the site.

'Disjointed' is the most apt description.


Hope you enjoy the 25 pages. As for it being an "NFT" game I'm unsure of this description as there is nothing for sale like that ingame nor is there anything related to crypto involved in the game.

To respond to your... questions? Points? I'm unsure what they are but in response:

- This project isn't a piece, or filler, the project's goals as laid out in the first post is to create a reusable Gaia Online webgame client that can connect worlds supporting 2D/3D/2.5D and support the creation of social worlds and games. The project isn't focused on expanding the Gaia Online story or RP though in-game we have a contextual emote system which some players may find usual for RP, like World of Warcraft.

- Rally was chosen as it was the most popular social space in 2D at the time. When I started this project a Rally 3D map created by a previous team before my time was sent to me to try to adapt it for use in this new Rally 3D project. I'm a programmer, so there are limitations on what I can do with existing art sent to me. But that's why it's Rally and that's why it looks the way it does. As for other games, I'm unsure as the main longterm focus on this project is the tech and the social hangouts and games it could support creating while supporting Gaia Online avatars. If you have requests/ideas for worlds/games you need to direct them to Lanzer and not to me as I work on the client which is capable of supporting other worlds and games but is for now running Rally 3D.

- I'm really not sure what you're saying in this point. I might be able to upload it to Newgrounds if you'd like? I'm working on a way to embed it on all the popular webgame sites, possibly as a Discord activity, and the latest 2.0 version loads in a way to support this idea which I hope will be realized soon. I don't really know what you're talking about when it comes to RP though. I don't RP so I'm unsure.

Though I will say if you don't like the project there is existing social worlds and games to spend time in if you think they are better suited to your RP needs.

I've just added PvP to Rally. You'll be able to duel other players by targeting them and typing /duel or by right-clicking their unitframe and selecting the Duel option. Street fight and battle your opponents in the parkinglot outside of 24/7 to your heart's content.

The Fluff Invasion has abit of a side quest as Rally Guard Bob and Rally Guard Rob now have additional optional content added. Bob now has a daily quest available after completing part of the quest chain. He'll award a daily reward for doing it too! A daily quest is denoted by a blue ! in-game over the NPCs head.

Supporting mobile is something that is important and that Rallytest 1.0 was able to do better, although not well tbh, compared to Rallytest 2.0. The issue is that it's not feasible to simply do what Rallytest 1.0 did to support chat on mobile at this time. I'm working towards a way to support mobile in the web but the main issue is that Unity3D 2022 (the version this game is based on) does not officially support WebGL on mobile and so I need to work around this lack of support which is the main challenge.

Some minor bug fixes and additions!

* Fixed a bug that caused modifiers like SHIFT to prevent movement and other action buttons from being activated.

* Fixed an issue where spell/action cooldowns on actions placed on the actionbar mid cooldown were incorrectly visually represented.

* Re-added warnings about the CPU Renderer if the webgame page uses a CPU Renderer reminding the user to enable hardware acceleration.

* Re-added warnings about Intel Integrated Graphics if the webgame detects the usage.

* Adjusted flash content animation (Ex. Fluff) swapping from front to back to continue on the same frame index to more smoothly transition between the frames and prevent the animation from continuing forever if you look at the front and back over and over.

* Adjusted flash content rendering to flip the side depending on movement direction. The Fluffs move on a path forward only so more work is needed to flip their facing in a way that looks as expected.

So I earned 100 gold to buy the new gauntlets. But then I accidently sold them right back when trying to equip them since the merchant window was still open. I highly recommend an "Are you SURE you want to sell???" prompt for items, especially since I only got 27 gold back. Sellback should be half price, not just above a quarter.
