About myself
I started using tarot cards 8 years ago, but I rarely used it until 4 years ago. It was more like an off and on process. And it still is. Counting all the 'on' part of the process, I'd say I have about 3-4 years of experience. You may find this shop temporarily closed sometimes. It's usually because I'm going through the 'off' part of the process. razz
I'm not a psychic, I don't have any powers or anything. I am a Catholic, but it shouldn't be a bad thing to be spiritual at the same time.
The deck I use for my readings is called the Lord of the Rings deck, but I do wish to get another deck, possibly the Revelations or the Llewellyn (maybe both).
How I present my readings to clients is straight to the point. I don't explain what this card means, or how the picture in it looks like, but I just incorporate what the card is saying to the client's situation. Kind of like writing a paragraph based on research, without the citations. That way, the client would have a better understanding and connecting to what I'm trying to say.
To me, it's all about connection, advice and understanding, not lecturing about how the tarot works.
Divination/Spiritual communication experience
Other than the tarot cards, I also used to have a pendulum, not necessarily a pendant. I used random items, like a key, or even a loaded mechanical pencil (I poke a needle with a string on the eraser. regular pencil wouldn't work.). But I'm more freaked out when I use those, so I stopped.
I found out how to use the mechanical pencil pendulum in high school. A bunch of my sibling's friends were at the cafeteria, using it as a ouija board. The pencil would be your connection with the spirit whom you're communicating with, and there would be a piece of paper where you've written letters from a-z and numbers 0-9, or 10, can't remember. We'd use that, and it really worked.
There was also this thing I tried with a friend in college. It's for at least 2 people, you can NOT do this alone, or bad things will happen. We used a pen and a blank piece of paper. We had to hold the pen in a certain way, and communicated with a spirit through it. I won't tell you how, because bad things have happened before, with someone else. But it took a long time to make the spirit leave without getting upset. Our hands were so tired after! We had to burn the paper afterwards for safety reasons, and do a little prayer for the spirit. Never did it again after, and I wouldn't dare to do it again. -_-;
Lastly, I have a genetic 'eye disorder' (I'd like to call it that). It's been passed on from my grandmother to my mom, to her kids. All of the girls have it (I think it's been a dominant chromosome, eh? xD) But I have asked someone about this, it's pretty scientific, actually. The corner of my eyes are less evolved, so it absorbs/reflects light differently, making me see things that aren't physically there. I can't see ghosts, really, more like apparitions, maybe? But sometimes in the corner of my eyes, I can see a dark shape (of a human). I would get confirmation that I really saw what I think I saw when one of my sisters is standing beside me, asking if I saw the same thing. I think it's a pretty common thing for anyone to have, but I'd still add it here. whee
I've had other experiences that I wouldn't explain. I don't think it's respectful to give too much information about things like that. I have been told to ignore it, so I wouldn't go insane, driven by my fears. I cannot see this as a "gift", by the way.
