It's a confusing time in the land of Albinus. The Church of Cosmos has been a source of hope and strength for the people, yet now it's faced with many deserters. No one practices the holy teachings any longer, and because of a lack of magic wielders, monsters have begun to rise in number. Although there are still many who can handle said monsters, there are some beasts impervious to steel. Only the Aeons can break insanely powerful foes.

There is talk of another war brewing. Whether it be between all nations or two, the people are on edge. Border patrols have increased security, bandits run rampant, and a cold wind bites the once warm South.

What has caused this change? Be it man or god?

                                                        (This is a crossover RP)

                                                        Rules

                                                        • ) Be respectful to each other. If you don't know what this means, get out.

                                                        • ) Follow the Gaia TOS.

                                                        • ) No Godmoding or power playing.

                                                        • ) Since this is an AU Crossover, I'll be accepting any character from Games, Anime, Manga, and some Books. Any character from a Comic Book will be turned down, unfortunately. No Batman's, please. Though it's rare, I may reject a specific character if I feel they don't fit the premise. If you're worried about this, feel free to ask about it!

                                                        • ) Aeons are playable characters. If you want to app a specific one, let me know. However, be warned, I will be extremely picky!!!!!! They are powerful beings and some of them have specific tastes in regards to making contracts. More than likely, if you have a plot idea that meshes well with the current plotting I've in mind I'll take you up on the app. If you have a Summoner and would like to app their Aeon, I don't have too much of a problem with that. Just be sure it's something you can handle.

                                                        • ) I won't accept any graphics depicting real people as face characters. For example, if you want to use Chris Pratt as your face character for Cloud Strife, I won't accept it. At all. Drawings or game renderings only, please!

                                                        • ) Obey the RP mistress and the mods. This goes right along with respect. You show any of us disrespect and you will get a one-way ticket to kick-your-butt-outta-here-land. We are here to help and keep things moving smoothly. If you have an issue, please message any one of us to get it resolved!

                                                        • ) This is a semi-literate to lazy-literate RP. This means I expect content vs paragraph length. I'd like at least one completed paragraph! And please make sure you have something in there that the other players can react to. Nothing worse than dealing with a dead fish.
Also, if you're having difficulties with ideas, feel free to ask us for help. That's what we're here for! We want this to be as fun as possible.

                                                        • ) Concerning decorations. Please include your character's name and a prominent location. It's also helpful to have something telling people where your character is and who's with them.( aka an I.D. tag ) But I'm not requiring it. Make the posts as fancy or plain as you like. I'm more concerned with the content than the prettiness.

                                                        • ) Concerning Post Text. I don't care what colors you use for decorations. I just want thoughts italicized.

                                                        • ) Be ACTIVE. Lol, okay, this one's kind of a joke. Considering my circle of friends, we take like... forever to write one post. We just like to have fun and form strong friendships with each other. We normally talk on an IM system like Discord, but we're happy to chat it up in the OOC if that's what you prefer. Seriously, just chat away. Don't just disappear on us without warning. (emergencies are different, so if you don't respond in two - three weeks, I'll have to remove your character and that makes me a sad panda)

                                                        • ) For reservations, send me a PM titled "Into Oblivion" as well as a quick little skeleton to fill out. You can find that here. It's a requirement to fill this out first, as it'll show us whether or not you're what we're looking for in this rp.

Country: Bervenia || Capital: Darkgnaw || Royal Family: TSUKINO

Bervenia is the home and name of the northern most country and is connected to the Albinus continent via a natural land bridge. Large mountains with snowy peeks and valleys carved away by glaciers make up most of the landscape, everything blanketed by a thick layer of snow that only the toughest of greenery can permeate. What plants that do grow have adapted to the harsh environment, the flora consisting of pine trees, low lying moss and flowering plants that only bloom during the few weeks of summer. The closer you get to the capital the longer the nights become, with the peak of the castle sitting in near total darkness all year round. Warmer temperatures grace the shoreline, where most of the towns are situated, these places grow crops and bring in daily catches of fresh fish and other sea life. While in the higher altitudes where it is too cold to grow even the hardiest of crops small settlements are scattered about, mostly consisting of herders and their flocks. The largest city is Darkgnaw, sitting at the base of the highest mountain, and is recorded as one of the coldest places in the country. Here it is common to see an aura over the city and castle caused by the magnetic field of the planet, the shifting colors complimenting the backdrop of snow and the deep, star filled nights.

Country: Galbadia || Capital: Spellbinder || Royal Family: VESSALIUS

Galbadia sits in the eastern part of the Albinus continent, the natural land bridge connecting the continent to Bervenia residing just between the barrier of Archadia and it's neighboring country, Alexandria. It also shares a border with Alexandria in the south. Spellbinder is the top-most technological capital of Galbadia, as well as the unofficial entertainment capital, the cities all in some way connected to one another via large man made tunnels dug through the earth. A common sight in any city and the sky here would be the airships, all manufactured in the capital city Spellbinder for commercial use, and various other mechanical marvels, especially in the areas around the capital. The landscape is shaped with mostly flat plains lands and fertile soils where tall grasses and flowering plants spot up all through each season, though the closer you get to Spellbinder the barer the surrounding land becomes. The climate here is moderate, with the weather patterns being different throughout the country though it is never too hot or cold. From any point of the country, a person is guaranteed to see the glow of Spellbinder's factories, high rises and casinos on the horizon.

Country: Archadia || Capital: Brightcrest || Royal Family: VONGOLA

On the western side of the Albinus continent is Archadia and like it's neighboring countries, Galbadia and Alexandria, is especially fertile in terms of plant growth. This country is the largest producer of fruits and vegetables, as they can be grown all year round thanks to warm temperatures and moderate rainfall. The cities here are all built in a Victorian style with lingering Roman like structures, and the capital, Brightcrest, being the fanciest of all. The capital is situated on the western coast, atop a cliff side with rivers running through the city and countless bridges to cross over. The rivers flow through each area of Brightcrest and join together at the base of the castle where they form a great waterfall off the cliff face. The entire city is full of greenery, nurtured by the natural water source and from the care of the citizens that live there.

As with both of Alexandria's neighboring countries, this tiny nation is rich in lush foliage and blooming plants. The temperature is moderate year round, though in the southern most area some places might experience frost and small snow flurries in the winter months. Oathkeeper, the capital, is much like Archadia in regards to beauty and plant life, though the large city is filled to the brim with blooming flowers and fruit bearing trees all year round thanks to the lasting influence of the royal family. Alexandria's cities are built in styles reminiscent of the Renaissance period, with elaborate towers and vibrant colors. The capital resides on a hill side over looking a vast field of various flowers with small valleys in the distance.

Once a proud, independent nation, this medium sized island is now a colony of Galbadia and has been for the past few decades. Destiny Island sits several miles off shore of it's ruling country and is commonly considered nothing more than a tourist attraction and resort to people who live on the main land. Both the architecture and citizens of the island takes cues from both Japanese and Chinese culture.

--Magic comes from two places. Valhalla blesses the world with white magic, while the Void offers black. There are various beliefs revolving around this. Regardless of belief, magic is something one is born with. The Void is very real and some people find themselves diving into its depths, a dangerous chance that may ruin a person's soul. If one can harness the dark power, they will be incredibly powerful.

Bervenia claims white magic is a gift from the Queen Goddess Selene shining her silver light, while black magic comes directly from the mouth of Nehalennia who lives within the Void.
Aside from two major entities, there are other Gods and Goddesses also worshipped. While Selene is a symbol of healing and hope in the dark north, Phobos is the messenger of the gods and close friend to the Queen Goddess. Callisto is the goddess of love and beauty. Deimos is the god of war and strategy. Amalthea is the goddess of skies and weather. Rhea is the goddess of time and dreams. Oberon is the god of the sun. Titania is the goddess of the seas and Oberon's lover. Charon is the god of death.
This religion is kept on the down low, since the Church of Cosmos is majority and they prefer not to have aggressive southerners pushing their beliefs upon them.

Archadia, Galbadia, and Alexandria worship the Goddess Cosmos and fear the God Chaos.
They believe it was through her mercy that Aeons were created in order to protect them from their enemies. Magic is linked to the Church of Cosmos. Chaos, the opposite entity to Cosmos, lives within the Void and beckons souls to become corrupt with his power. It is through Chaos that Black Magic is in existence. While the Church sees this as a necessity, they also are aware of the dangers this possesses to the soul. However, magic is something one is born with. Not everyone who is born with magic choose to involve themselves with the Church, though many prefer to do so because of the benefits. The Church promises to give professionally taught lessons to help people learn how to use their power, and in return, they will serve the Church. A mutual benefit as this ensures the Church won't die out, and those who join the Church's rank has a way to provide for themselves and their family.

Destiny Islands worship the Goddesses Din, Farore, and Nayru who created and shaped the world.
Din, with her strong flaming arms, she cultivated the land and created the red earth. Nayru, poured her wisdom onto the earth and gave the spirit of law to the world. Farore, with her rich soul, produced all life forms who would uphold the law. They left the world to return to the Sacred Realm. The people believe if they uphold the Goddesses harmonic attributes, they will have true power. You must practice Courage, Wisdom, and Power together, otherwise you will be imbalanced. These three attributes are associated with the forces of nature. Courage with Wood and Earth, Wisdom with Water and Air, and Power with Fire and Metal. Many believe the doorway to the Sacred Realm is the tree of Yggdrasil, however no one has ever been. Or, if they have, none have returned to tell the tale.

                                                        Black Mage
To use Black Magic, one must be able to reach the Void without losing themselves. It's a dangerous art that reaps amazing benefits resulting in destructive spells. One must be tempered and focused, otherwise they can be seized by the very dark forces they harness. Once full control is accomplished, the highest level Black Mage learns the ultimate destructive spell, Ultima.

                                                        White Mage
Attuned with the Earth and Valhalla's light, White Mages can heal wounds and status ailments. They're also skilled in protecting people from harm. Eventually, the higher leveled White Mages are able to use the powerful spell Holy, the strongest attack against dark and undead beings. To get to that level, however, means intensive training and very few reach it.

                                                        Summoner
People who have undergone intense physical and spiritual training from childhood. They are able to make pacts with powerful beings known as Aeons to do their bidding. The Aeons link their spirits with the Summoners, and thus use their life force while on the field. It's physically traumatic to the Summoners when their Aeons are injured or worse. Because of how insanely difficult it is to be a Summoner, they've become increasingly rare.

                                                        Red Mage
Most often, they are individuals who have quit their spiritual pilgrimage in favor of wielding a weapon. While most Red Mages are often failed Summoners, Black Mages and White Mages are just as capable of joining their ranks. Because of their prior experience, Red Mages are capable of casting low level spells. Recently, there have been an influx in the numbers of Red Mages, most of them having been excommunicated from the Church.

Using the essence of their very souls, they're able to use far more powerful attacks. This has become a taboo practice, since it's incredibly harmful to the user.

There's a legend stating that Summoners, once they pass away, become Aeons. The church denies this and no one really believes it, but that isn't to say it isn't true. After all, the Aeon links itself with the Summoner's soul. Only the church knows the truth,
a secret they intend to die with. If word got out about the effects of Aeons and their Summoners being true, a terrible battle like that of the ancients may come about once again.

Her true origins are unknown, but she is revered as Selene's warrior and protector of Bervenia. However, it is because of her that the north became the frigid, barren land it is today. While many legends praise her, some condemn her for leaving them to die.

                                                        Towns and Cities
Darkgnaw: By far the coldest spot within the world, the castle is tall and large, set in front of a dark mountain. There is a canyon extending behind the castle, leading to an Aeon's shrine. The capital's citizens live in tightly placed homes, the buildings made of strong material well adapted to the cold. While it snows almost endlessly, the buildings are designed with sloped roofs, which keeps the snow off them.
Beneath the castle lies a dark secret not even royalty are aware.
                                                        (Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep)
Melmond: A village specifically designated to livestock. Woolly sheep and yak are popular animals, since the sheep give plentiful wool and the yak give delicious milk.(Final Fantasy)
Nibelheim: Chocobo are the main prize livestock in this tiny village. The birds have adapted to having thicker down, making their feathers prized around the world for soft beds and blankets.(Final Fantasy VII)
Salamand: A wayward point to Shokan Suru, Maduin's shrine.(Final Fantasy II)
Esto Gaza: Known as a religious city, it is also home to the busiest harbor in Bervenia. There is a church designated to Cosmos here.(Final Fantasy IX)
Tokkul: A harbor town that looks abandoned at first sight, despite how warmer it is comparatively. Mostly only fishermen live here.(Final Fantasy III)
Wallbridge: A fortress found at the borders of Bervenia and the countries south. Border patrols are regularly made there. (Tales of Graces)

                                                        Shrines
Pandaemonium (Mateus the Corrupt): A large temple carved out of the very mountain's face. Its Aeon is normally found in the deepest recesses.(Final Fantasy II)
Malheur (Shiva Sisters): A shrine erected for the Shiva Sisters, Nix and Styria. While it is definitely man made, ice has decorated the outer and inner walls, depicting snowflakes, flowers, and other carefully carved designs.
Shokan Suru (Maduin): The small shrine for Maduin. It's not as elegant as the former two, however the view from its mountain peak is breathtaking.
Paramaanand Temple (Lakshmi): Outside, it's a short tower of marble in the center of what is commonly known by her worshipers as the "Garden of Bliss" (a garden with pools lit with little blue candles and lined with stones speckled with gold. The pools have bright pink, purple and blue fish that almost look like they glow.) The plants in the garden are mostly lotus flowers about the area and red roses closest to the temple's entrance. A load of organza and silk drapes line the walls inside and there are small alcoves along the walls that have little gold statues of people in pleasured poses (hugging oneself, arms outstretched, etc).
