Hello there!


Welcome to my – hopefully – permanent search thread. I’ve lost count of how many searches I’ve made over the years so this time it’s for good. That’s why if you’re here much later than what the posting date is it’s not a blip, the thread is actually open.

To save people time I believe I should cover a few things straight away. I consider myself to be advance lit, but I don’t expect you to be the same. My partners vary from people who post three good paragraphs of about five hundred words through to people who have hit cap - so as long as you can form coherent sentences and keep me hooked on the storyline I believe we’ll get along swimmingly. When it comes to group roleplays though, I’d rather join lit. or advance lit. roleplays - no offence to others, it’s just where I feel more comfortable. That usually means at least three paragraphs per post. Now whilst I am willing to join groups it’s rare, but don’t be scared to throw a link my way just in case!

If that hasn’t scared you away, then hello once more and hopefully I don’t bore you to death with unneeded information.

Most people start their search threads by speaking about themselves as a person, however I find that rather difficult (honesty is the policy even if it scares people off). If we become partners you’ll end up getting to know me, but writing about myself… Well I think I’ll just stick to myself as a roleplayer, after all I have no wish for you to feign interest in my rather dull lifestyle.

First off, I tend to start up far too many roleplays - as my to-do list will show you. Because of this my posts aren’t daily (I’m British in case you were wondering what time-zone I’m in) but I will get around to you. I never ditch people just because I can, and when I do leave I’ll inform you beforehand. However this hasn’t happened for quite some time and I doubt it will ever happen again. Yet if I’m going to be gone for an extended period of time I will tell you beforehand - and if I don’t get to you in advance I’ll tell you as soon as I get my hands on a computer or a chance to open Gaia up on my phone. The amount of time that I’m online is dependent upon what time in the year it is but the concept still applies: I will get to your post as quickly as I can.

The next point I need to make is that I’m not a perfect roleplayer nor do I claim to be. I make mistakes just like every other human, so I’m not going to complain if you’re the same. I’m also patient enough to wait for your replies - you take as long as you need. Also, tell me if my posts are too long for you or whatever have you may - I’m happy to cater for your needs. If you want to be pushed then I’m happy to do so, if not we can work at your speed. Not that I’m big headed or anything, but one thing which comes up regularly with my partners is how patient I am. Honestly, you take as long as you need to post and don’t worry about matching length.

On that note you should know that I only roleplay via threads. I dislike handing out my e-mail, the only form of instant messenger I had was Meebo before it disappeared (may it rest in peace) and my PM system dies on me more often than it should. I’m more than happy to use my PM system for plotting and getting to know you but I’ll never use it as a means to roleplaying. Sorry. Also, after the loss of Meebo due to a lack of instant messaging systems on my behalf I’ve taken it upon myself to make OOC threads for anyone who is interested. Should you be interested then please say so and we can make one. Continuing on from the fact that I only roleplay in threads I do not expect you to be a coding genius; I like to have a pretty layout to look at but it doesn’t have to be there. I also prefer to use real models but there’s been the odd case where my arm has been twisted for certain types of roleplays.

As for what kind of roleplay we do I’m open to any suggestion - I’m not limited to purely romance roleplays, or anything of the sort. I’d much rather play the male characters though. Whilst I may be a female I do prefer to play the opposite gender. And no, my characters aren’t all chicks with dicks - unless of course they need to be for some reason or another. On that note I’m happy for mXf or mXm roleplays whichever you prefer – whilst I have nothing against fXf it’s not my forte but I’ll do so if the relationship is to be platonic (maybe if it is romantic, should you manage to twist my arm). Also doubling is a-okay by me, so go ahead and ask if you wish to double. Although a few points need to be made following on from that. Just because I favour playing males it does not mean I always want to be the male – if I am to play good females I will need to practice playing them. Basically it is nice for you to ask what gender I want rather than simply assuming I will play a male for you. Also, just because I double it does not mean we have to. I do not see the point in doubling just so that we have a male and female each – if the plot does not need it then I am unlikely to do it.

There was a point where I simply gave people the link to my test thread however in the end I finally made a sample thread. Nonetheless, if you want to look at more posts (mostly introductions) then you’re more than welcome to look at the test thread. Admit it, you skipped all the other tedious information to come and find what I want from you; am I right, or am I right? Luckily for you I’ve put this into nine little bullet points for you.

• I know I said before that I’m open to people of whatever lit. level you may be, but I must ask that you try your best. By this I mean I need something to work off. There is no point in giving me a post which contains nothing more than hair brushing. I know that everyone gets writers block sometimes, and I’m not saying all posts require the characters to speak, but I need something. I can’t work with a post about only hair brushing even if the word floccinaucinihilipilification is used.

• Commitment is my biggest must. Even though this is second in the list it really is the most important thing for me. I get it you have a life, as I also do. However, that doesn't mean you have to stop without telling me. I have roleplays which have been going for years now, we don't post every day, not even every week, but we're committed and that's what matters most.

• Communication please! I know you see this everywhere, but it is nice. It helps to keep the roleplay alive. Communication doesn't just need to be about the roleplay, it's nice to get to know each other too - in a completely non-stalkerish way. I've made some great friends through this. We started off planning the crazy twists and turns for the roleplay and before we knew it a day didn't go by in which we didn't talk.

• I'm one of those who like real people as models. I'm perfectly fine with celebrities; just don't give me someone who is over used in the Gaia community. Also, make sure the model fits the role. No point giving me a thirteen year old scene kid who is supposed to be a seventy year old war veteran.

• When it comes to your layout please don't use blinding colours or really small text. I'm the only one in my family with near-to-perfect vision and I would like to keep it that way for as long as possible. Thank you very much.

• Contribute to the roleplay; I don't want to be the only one thinking up ideas. Believe me there's nothing too dark or crazy. I'm up for whatever you want to throw at me, just speak up, I won't bite.

• Be a patient person, pretty please with icing and a cherry? I know it should go without saying when you stayed around after reading about how I overload myself with roleplays, but sometimes people try to hint at posting which isn't very polite. I’m happy to wait around for a reply from you and I expect the same kind of thing. Constantly hinting that I should post kills my desire to do so. Also don’t send me a message every time you post, I subscribe to threads so I’ll notice.

• If you have any limits then please tell me. I can swear like a sailor and I can be pretty gory at times. Therefore if you don't want me to swear or throw blood up the walls please say so. I'll respect your limits just as I expect you to respect mine.

• Then there's the usual no breaking Gaia rules, no making it into a pornography and telling me if you're going to be gone a while, plus everything else which you see wrote in the exact same way wherever you go.

The next few posts contain my themes for roleplays, the things I’m interested in, however I’m not limited to such ideas. There’s no ♥’s of desire as this is a permanent search thread and it’s bound to change.

Basically, I have split my ideas – you are welcome to suggest anything even if it is not listed, in fact I welcome you to – into separate posts. The first of the following posts contains movies, the second contains television series, the third contains books, the fourth is song based ideas, the fifth is fairy tales, the sixths is pairing ideas and the sevenths is merely prompts.

Note that no list is extensive! Things are slowly added as I think about them.

When it comes to movies and television series I prefer original characters. In some cases you may be able to convince me otherwise. Should this happen you will need a really good plot. The characters I may be willing to try are listed. With books, however, I am only willing to accept original characters – the only exception to this rule being when books overlap with either a film or a television series. You should also note that Disney characters are listed under the fairy tales, in case you were wondering why there is no all-encompassing ‘Disney’ label under movies.

Hopefully you see something you like, if not remember that I’m open to give anything a try should you be looking for something in particular which is not listed.
