How do you make a profile layout/background?

3nodding Hi there, I was just wondering if there's anyone out there willing to give a few advice on making your own profile layout. I've been on tektek before and im amazed on how all those codes process them I've seen most of people doing their own and I would really like to personlize my own.I dont want to ask someone else to do it for me; I mean that would be nice but I want to learn to :3 Here are a few questions that I want to get through.

1.Is it hard to do one?
2. Do I have to have a certain program dto download even when Ialrady have hp/windows vista?
3. When making a profile does it star of with a blank page or is there a site where you can get an empty slot of a classic gaia profile?
4. Where can I get codes for the theme of the profile? 9Like fror example how people have a musical note where their media can go)
5. I have drawings that I have scaned, will I be able to paste them onto the profile as a header?

sweatdrop I never made a profile layout before and I just want to lear how to. I did go and search around google but getting advice from people who have expirience handling these things would be great.

you don't need any special program. you just have to learn the codes. you can go to www.skem9.com to make one pretty easily. when you're done, you will receive the code, which you can paste into you theme override box. (skem9 only does new profile layouts, so no old school) You should copy the code to a word processing document so you can better observe it. the guides will help you understand what you'll see.

well, i have tried and tried to put a background on my gaia profile, but everytime i go on it, i dont see "classic"/"old school"...will someone please help me out in a way i will understand even more?? Please, im sick of using the backgrounds that gaia offers to you, none of them are really my style!! xp

OMG!! Finally I have it...Ok, this is for the people who dont know how to change the status of your profile:

1. Where you see "My Gaia" below your avatar, click on where you see "Acount" all the way at the bottom...

2.You will see "Choose Profile", if you scroll down a bit...

3.The box will give you an option. Click "Classic"....

4.If their is anything else you want to change on your profile, or stuff, fill out the boxes!!

5.When you are finished filling out the boxes, scroll all the way down and click "submit"

6.Your done!!

Easy. If you want to change your background....

1) Go to Profile setting (preference) and change from Classic to Current, then save.
2) Go to Profile Theme. Copy this code (below) in the box.
3) With this code, you'll see background url.... put your image url address here and other one same image url address too, then save.

You're done. You can see what my profile background look like. (image 600 x 800 pixels)

Go to Account Setting on My Gaia then Preferences. Then you'll see Choose Profile. You can change it smile
