Hey there, ladies and gentlemen. I'm here to see if anyone out there would be interested in purchasing "pets" from a very casual B/C shop I plan to make. They are little chibi robots, a bit like the ones from the series Chobits if you've read it, though have a few big differences. Feel free to offer your opinions and suggestions, as that's what this thread is here for. I'm not currently hiring, but I will be if this idea sees any interest. NOW HIRING! xD
The main thread is up and open for posting! You can find it here.

Techibis are androids in chibi form, created by the great Dr.Vottec, and are often used in the same manner as a portable computer. What makes techibis different from any laptop or iphone- besides the display screen, of course- is that these have personalities and interact with their world like you would expect from an android. Due to their size, however, each techibi is given one of six different set personality types, as custom personalities would lower their efficiency quite a bit, and these are, after all, tools. The personalities are as follows:
Quote:
Type A)Shy; These techibis have a hard time with strangers and tend to keep to themselves when given the choice. They fidget, they stutter, they generally have a hard time socializing in general. These models are not for someone hard of hearing, as they tend to whisper when anyone other than their master is around.
Type B)Temperamental; Type B techibis are aggressive and obstinate, always looking for a fight from anyone but their master. While they are too small to do any real damage to anyone or anything, they do throw quite a fearsome temper tantrum.
Type C)Overconfident;Give something for this techibi to brag about and they will go on until they short circuit. They are generally friendly, and enjoy the company of others, but they tend to be a bit annoying for those on the receiving end of their constant bragging. They do tend to be very defensive when it comes to their master.
Type D)Gentle;Pleasant and calm, these techibis want nothing more than to make your life easier. Helping out is always on the top of their list of priorities, and they tend to have a permanent smile on when given the chance to make others happy.
Type E)Overexcited; These techibis have a hard time keeping their emotions under control, but luckily they are almost always happy emotions. They talk constantly, and share any thoughts that come to mind without hesitation. They are eager to meet new people and tend to look on the bright side of any situation.
Type F)Cold; This personality type is more of a lack of personality than anything. They are very to-the-point and do little interacting with anyone, including their master. They are the most logical, and do not allow emotions to interfere with any task they are given.
Dr. Vottec ;; The shop's fouder and only producer of techibis. He's young, sure, but he knows what he's doing. People are often confused to learn a man was behind all this, but if you knew him you'd understand. He thinks of techibis more as toys than tools, and even collects a few of his own. He's playful all around and he and Remmy enjoy endlessly teasing Adele more than the average person should. He takes nothing seriously but his own fame and is perfectly fine with everyone knowing it.
Adele ;; The only person in the shop who takes her job seriously. Too seriously. Professionalism is everything, and anything less is unacceptable. If she had the power to fire Vottec, she'd do it in a heartbeat. She is but a lowly shop manager, though, and is only there to keep everything in order (which tends to be a much more difficult job than it would be at any other shop). She thinks nothing of techibis, and has little interest in robotics of any kind. She and Remmy are what some would call sworn enemies, but Adele would be fired if she ever acted upon her hatred for the chibi, as Remmy is basically Dr. Vottec's life.
Remmy ;; Despite her small size, Remmy is in charge of all sales within the shop. Originally this was due to lack of employees, but has turned out to be a great marketing scheme. She was originally used to test all the personality types, and Vottec never got around to limiting her to just one. She appears to be constantly malfunctioning, switching from personality to personality every few minutes, but those that spend a good amount of time with her suspect she has gained control of all her personalities, switching between them to her benefit.
Stage 1)The Key;Why a key? Batteries and plug-ins are so old fashioned. This is the 21st century and its all about creating your own energy. Each techibi has a small hole in its back that a specific key fits into, and when turned, you're manually producing your techibi's energy. Try not to lose it. Your techibi should be picked up at the shop a week after you are given the key.
Stage 2)Unactivated;While this stage is just as exciting as the last one, it at least gives you a look at your new techibi. It will be your responsibility to power it up, and it usually takes a while. There is very little you can do with it during this stage. After a good week of powering up your chibi, they should begin to awaken.
Stage 3)Awake;Finally! Your techibi is up and running, performing tasks, taking orders, and basically everything you ask it to do. Not only that, but it seems to have quite the personality, too. It will do its best to serve you, so make sure to take good care of it.
Stage 4)Upgraded;If your techibi is running a little slower than you'd like or could use a few new applications, consider getting it upgraded. This comes with new, custom art of your chibi, and possibly a new outfit. Very few chibis will ever be upgraded, as you would need to do a lot of RPing for it to be eligible. This is the only RP required stage.
Second generation techibis go through a different second stage, one a little more interactive, but just as useless. If two techibis merge (breed), they will make a baby techibi. This stage is purely for show, and when the parents are ready, the baby techibi's memory chip will be reinstalled into an adult techibi body.
1).....We won't be offering previews of the techibis during any sale. That's supposed to be part of the fun. The personalities and genders will also be unannounced. 2).....Co-owning will not be allowed. 3).....You may own as many techibis you can get your hands on unless otherwise stated. 4).....This shop is based heavily on themes (sets), so if you're not into that, this may not be your shop. 5).....All auctions will include the fourth stage. These, however, will hardly ever take place. We will primarily offer chibis through events and flatsales, contests and raffles come second, and auctions come last. We'll try and keep techibis affordable for everyone.
SET TYPES
Techibis will be given out as part of a set, which revolves around a particular theme. While most sets are completed all at once, there are a few that are considered "ongoing." New additions to these sets will be released periodically, so look out for their corresponding keys. The three different types of sets are:
Quote:
COMPLETED.....Completed sets include a number of techibis given out all at the same time during the same flatsale/auction/etc. These are the most common types of sets. Every techibi in the set has the same key. ONGOING.....Ongoing sets include techibis that are given out at different times and during different events. It is very rare that two or more techibis from the same ongoing set will be released at the same time. These also use the same key for every techibi within the set. SINGLES.....This particular set is very rare, and includes only one techibi within the set. Customs and semi-customs are also considered part of a singles set.
I have a question about the stages... So there will technically only be four stages: key, unactivated, awake, and upgraded; right? You just drew a whole bunch of the same chibi in different positions because you felt like it? @_@
Right, only four stages. The different chibis shown in the fourth stage are all the different personality types you can get in the fourth stage. Should I just show one to make it clear?
