Welcome to Hiring~!

In the Name of the Moon is a Sailor Moon themed roleplay shop full of wonderful and creative roleplayers and a very talented set of artists. We're hoping to add more numbers to our artist staff so we can continue meeting the demand for new art, so if you like the idea of working with a team of highly creative, hardworking artists and sharing your skill with our players, we'd love to see what you've got!

If you are new to the shop or would just like to familiarize yourself better, please check out our Guild! One of the most helpful threads for anyone interested in becoming an artist is our Customs Procedure information thread.

Outlined below are the minimum requirements and expectations of staff. Please understand that as the shop grows, requirements of the staff may change depending on how the shop shifts to meet the needs of our players, who are our first priority. To be a member of staff, you must be able to be objective, and do what's best for the shop, without involving your personal feelings towards players or characters.

Please do not discourage anyone from entering and refrain from giving criticism unless they are asking for constructive criticism in order to improve!

Hiring for artists will be open indefinitely. If you are interested in joining our artist staff, please review the information in the following posts and adhere to the below procedures for applying!

Artist Requirements

We are always looking for new artists to join us, and we have an amazing staff of artists presently helping our shop thrive.

ItNotM uses a template based system, where artists can choose a pre-existing template or splice pieces from multiple templates to create artwork. Our artists provide full edits, including hair, expression, clothes, accessories and items, and may also require splicing pieces from different templates or drawing new body parts to properly suit the art. Because of this, we are looking for skilled artists capable of working with templates and drawing in a style that closely resembles the existing one. There are many amazing art styles out there, but we are very strict about maintaining some level of uniformity in the art produced for our shop.

As an artist for the shop, your duties may include participation in free events such as concept contests or mini games, judging contests, providing growths, quest fairying players, designing custom outfits, weighing in on art related changes, or running customs. You may be hired as a civilian artist or a powered artist; powered artists can do art for any character class while civilian artists may do powered art with the guidance of a powered artist after meeting a few minimum requirements while on staff. Civilian artists do not need approval for art for civilian characters!

Expected Quota for Artists:
- Powered artists must open customs for at least two new powered characters once every three months (a maximum of three gold custom characters may be done per month). Civivilian artists must open customs for at least three new civilian characters every three months (a maximum of three gold custom characters may be done per month).
- Provide at least two free pieces of civilian art every three months (through venues such as customs or quest fairies)
- Participation in concept contests, giveaways, and other shopwide events (this may include creating premades, semi premades, or full customs)
- Completion of at least three growths within the three month time period (provided your slots are requested)

Artist Payment Options

Artists are paid in one of two ways; we have credit options (where you can do art in exchange for credits to buy new characters or piece of art for yourself or others in the shop), or gold options.

Base prices for a full stage of art range from 500 Million to 1 Billion gold. Artists retain 100% of earnings from all customs they open, and all personal auctions they run (unless negotiated otherwise). They are guaranteed a cut in raffles, to be determined based on raffle, and will earn 80% of all Bribe offers.

How do I apply?

Just show us what you can do! We have provided the links to several templates our shop uses; please download the PSDs of your choice (one male and one female) and design a uniform for each of them. Please select a different faction for each template! We currently have four factions—the Senshi, the Negaverse, the Knights and the Dark Mirror Court; information about each faction can be found in the corresponding links, and an overview of uniform guidelines may be found here. If you are creating a Senshi/(including Corrupted Senshi and Dark Mirror Senshi), please design them using a sphere themed from our Locked Spheres list. If creating a Knight, please be mindful of planet colors and themes when designing! Negaverse agents are supposed to be military/business casual with predominantly dark colors, so please also keep this in mind if designing one!

Please remember that all of these are intended to be first stage characters, so their outfits should be based off of the first stage guidelines! If you are hired, these characters may be given out in an event, so we want them to be as close to shop guidelines as possible! If you have any questions about uniform guidelines, please feel free to ask!

Rules:

  • These lines are not to be used for anything outside of shop application. We are providing the links now for potential candidates to utilize to showcase their skills, so please do not abuse the PSDs! We do not consent to these lines being used for sketching, designing, use in other shops, or to being posted anywhere outside of this application thread. Thank you for understanding!
  • Please try to stay as close to the original shop style as possible! While deviating styles may look cool, we are more likely to hire artists who can mimic the coloring/shading/general art design we already have.
  • Everyone is free to enter! Please do not discourage anyone from entering or give unwanted criticism for their art.
  • While you do not have to be a member of the shop to apply, it is generally helpful if you are at least vaguely familiar with the factions and/or faction uniform guidelines! Please let us know if you do not feel like you have a good grasp of them; if hired we will work with you to try and help!
  • Please title PM applications as 'Artist Application' and send them to The Space Cauldron!

If you are interested in starting as a civilian artist and don't want to work on the Powered Templates, you can show us what you're capable of on the Civilian templates, instead!

Contests & Promotions

Want to give this place some advertisement? Keep the thread alive? We do too! In exchange for your activity, we are offering 1 Crown Token to be claimed for every four posts to the thread! This does have some restrictions, though! These bumps must be in increments of one week each to be counted! This means that you can post as often as you like here, but you will only be able to claim a Crown Token every four weeks. Whether or not you are a new player interested in getting into the shop or if you've been with us for a while, this is open to anyone who wants to try! You will need to post to claim your Crown Token in the previously linked thread and provide a link to the post you made for each week. This opportunity is open indefinitely and we will provide an announcement when we decide to end it!

UPDATE: This offer will be expiring at the end of August! Please have your claims all posted before the end of August 31st; this will be the last day to post for a Crown Token from this thread! The full information for this has been posted on page 177!

UPDATE 2: You can continue to bump if you like, but you can no longer claim for crown tokens!

FAQ

*I have no experience being on staff, can I still apply?
Absolutely! Having no experience does not mean you might not be qualified to join our team! We are willing to provide any training or assistance to players who seem like good candidates but don't have experience!

*Can I apply to be a Civilian Artist and work my way up to Powered?
Absolutely! We have more information about how Civilian Artists can work their way up to powered in our guild for anyone who wants to start as a civilian artist and then work their way towards doing powered art!

    *What about unique art?
While we do have unique artists in our shop, powered artists must work their way towards this. If you feel like you are capable of replicating the shop style and working off of templates, you may submit your own art along with your application for us to consider, however we will ask that all artists start as templated artists so they can familiarize themselves with our rules and uniform guidelines.

*What happens if a new hire cannot complete the requirements or meet the quota?
We will try to work with our team to ensure that everyone is meeting our expectations. If a team member is unable or unwilling to improve, we may need to remove them from the staff roster. Similarly, if they act inappropriately (such as by leaking information or bullying another player) we will remove them from staff. Further action may need to be taken if the infraction is severe enough, however we are always willing to try and help our artists settle in and work to the best of their abilities!

*What if my application is rejected? Can I apply again?
Absolutely! There are a lot of reasons why an application might be rejected, but the most common is that the artist is unable to adapt to the style of the shop. This doesn't mean they don't have amazing art, but if an artist's individual style is incompatible with the templates we may refrain from hiring them. We try to keep a unified art style, so if you are serious about joining our shop and think you can mimic it, you can apply as many times as you need to! Practicing can only help!
