Are you someone who has an aneurism when trying to comprehend numbers over 151?
Do you miss the game devouring glitches of Missingno?
Does Bidoof cause you to foam with rage?
Well if any of those describe you, gtfo.

This isnt some baw baw black Mareep thread. In here we do not sit around whining and complaining about everything wrong with Pokemon. Oh no. In here we accept and appreciate Pokemon, from its beginnings, and most importantly, where its heading. We Pokemon Progressives are a positive group of people, who support and encourage the continued expansion of the franchise and all thats associated with it. Where others would kindly just let the Pokemon world go stagnant and die, we want to push forward.
Yes to more episodes.

Yes to more movies.

Yes to more games.

Yes to more Pokemon.

If you wish to be a part of this thread, there are a few rules you must follow.
  1. No mindless bashing and hatred of Pokemon. General criticism is allowed if you have legitimate reasons, but if you are just a baw baw wearer of nostalgia goggles, take it elsewhere, there are plenty of threads with whining and complaining in the forum.
  2. If you see a baw baw wearer of nostalgia goggles, ignore them. Trying to educate them is a waste of time.

While any and all discussions related to Pokemon are allowed, here are a few starting off points if you are new or need help talking.
  • Anything related to the most current generation of Pokemon
  • Your ideas on the future of Pokemon, especially on new regions, pokemon, types and games.

Here is a list of former poll questions. Feel free to discuss these as well, even if they are no longer the active poll.
09-08-10: Would you support 4 stage evolution (aka a third evolved form) in future games?
09-11-10: Would you like to see true regional differences between Pokemon? Meaning that a Pikachu from Kanto might be a bit more yellow than a Pikachu from Hoenn. Or Arbok have different hood patterns depending on what region they were caught in.
09-13-10: Would you like to have the ability to change pokemon from storage without the need for a PC?
09-14-10: Should pokemon be allowed to evolve mid-battle?
    02-21-10: Pokemon in the future?
    04-02-11: Favorite Gen 5 legendary?

I think the games have greatly improved. I'm not sure if I'm going to buy the latest games, but I'll definitely keep up with serebii.net to see all the new pokemon.

My question is how Godly are they going to make the new legendaries? I mean Arceus is pretty much God, what are the creator going to do with B/W legendaries?

Do you foam at the mouth in rage whenever a Bidoof appears?

The hate for Bidoof makes me said, considering that Bibarel makes one good HM slave. neutral

I get it---it appears everywhere, but so did Pidgey, Zubat, Rattata, etc. There's more hate for Bidoof than there is for Zubat.

Anyway.

I am excited for Black and White, which is being released pretty soon, even though I am waiting until it is related in the US. I am looking forward to the online features, and being able to battle people at random. The way of getting Pokemon from the fourth generation bugs me a bit, but I am sure that I will get used to it sooner or later.

I do wonder what they will do for the third game. Most people assume they are going to name if Pokemon Grey.

There are plenty of legends they can base legendaries off of, and they can always go back to specific element/type legendaries, but I do agree they painted themselves into a corner with Arceus with regards to one-upping the previous generation.

They could always do something opposite to Arceus. If Arceus is God-like, what is going to be Devil-like?

But, that just might be too stereotypical, and it would depend on how they do it as well.

Honestly, third games are something I wish they would stop doing.
I feel cheated by them.
I bust my a** to get both exclusives, and then the third comes out with both? Wtf?
Either give me both right off the bat and make the third have a different story (like yellow and crystal) or just have the two.

Pokemon Grey would be funny tho.
A very neutral pokemon game.

I actually like having a third game, as it gives me a chance to use all three starters without having two copies of one of the games. ninja But as for them making a third game, they probably do it out of tradition, to keeps the fans happy, and for money-based reasons.

People have also suggested Pokemon Rainbow as well. I guess the fandom might have a better idea of what the game will be called once they release the third (main) legendary. Of course, with Diamond and Pearl everyone seemed to be convinced that the game would be called Opal.

A fallen legendary would be sort of cool.
Some see Giratina as the devil, but I dont see it as evil.

This makes me wonder, the pokemon games are based on colors (or at least objects with distinctive colors)
But eventually that will run out, so what will they base the games on?
I like how they did the remakes, with elements and more metaphysical concepts.

I don't see Giratina as evil as well. *pets my Giratina figure*

He may be be 100% good, but that doesn't mean he's 100% bad. Perhaps he's neutral, or rather yet, has no true side.

I guess people think he's the devil due to the fact he's called the Renegade Pokemon.

Well, they can always based the name on concepts and stones, or as you suggested they could use elements and metaphysical concepts. We'll probably see something similar if they do decide to remake Ruby and Sapphire.

It will be awhile before they really run out of ideas.

Its more destructive than Palkia or Dialga, but I think thats just its nature rather than it being outwardly malevolent.

Having a truly evil pokemon would be cool.
Rather than an evil team, you would have a pokemon screwing with stuff.

I've known about pokemon since it hit the states, but I'm spoiled on the Diamond graphics as it is the first pokemon game I've ever played/owned.

Yeah. A destructive nature isn't always evil. Plus, what is good and what is evil isn't always easy to determine anyway. Good people can go bad things, and bad people can do good things.

A evil Pokemon would be interesting. They could still throw a team in there, but maybe a team who is more on the sidelines or takes a more neutral approach to the situation. But of course, Pokemon always has a good v.s. evil theme to it.
