Have you ever gotten your trading pass disabled? How long did you wait until it was given back to you? has it ever been given back to you?
if you haven't had your trading pass disabled, I still kindly ask that you take the time to read through this and ask yourself, "What if this happened to me??"

I would like to to petition that instead of freezing/disabling/banning (whatever) the whole trading pass, why not just do the item(s)/gold that was involved or merely take it into some nice locked up place where it can be investigated without having to re-go through all the code every time a new item pops up (lets say from the chance machine). This would be more considerate of your customers...

and yes, I have spent money to get Gaia Cash here before, so that makes me a customer. With no obligation or desire to spend anymore money until my trading is freed from it's imprisonment. I know I haven't been the best person on Gaia, I'm sure I may have even broken a rule or two without meaning too... but sometimes I just forget. I'm sorry for being a nag about this, but it's really annoying Gaia.

I do agree that Gaia needs better customer service, particularly when it comes to re enabling trading passes (especially as you always hear about how the time spent restoring hacked or scammed accounts has been reduced to days or weeks, yet people will have disabled passes for months on end), and I do think a better solution would be to soulbound affected items or temporarily remove the affected gold from the account rather than take the trading pass, but sadly, it isn't done that way.

Its great that mods are helping users reclaim scammed accounts in a shorter amount of time, but what about the innocent users who have had their trading passes taken away for months or even years? Are they just pushed away to some box, never to be looked at again? I have a friend who has had her trading pass disabled for a YEAR. She was very very close to obtaining her devil tail, and now, she has a huge pile of gold just sitting in her account, unable to spend it on the items she desires. She tells me that shes considering quitting and is convinced that Gaia will not give back her pass. Gaia really needs to work on making sure their customers stay happy with them and increase their communication, especially when a user sends them a pm, wondering about the process of their appeal and only receive some automatic, generic pm back. I have my trading pass, but im anxious when I shop in the MP, because I dont know if the next item I buy could cause me to lose my trading pass.

I've never had my pass disabled, but I know without a doubt that I would leave Gaia if such a thing happened and wasn't remedied within a reasonable amount of time. I've invested time and energy into this site, and it's been a boon of entertainment, but... I draw the line at that.

It is ridiculous that this happens to so many users, and there's absolutely no reason that it can't be handled in a more appropriate and productive manner. If Gaia wants our money, it needs to take more efficient steps to protect what we spend said money on.

If you haven't been informed of this yet, the people who are under investigation for suspicion of botting:

If you have the Skype add-on for Firefox, your pages load differently and Gaia doesn't like it.

A mod has informed me of this.

Of course, after my trading pass was locked.

You Might Wanna Know~
useful information that was given by mods or other users.

~If you have a Skype Add-on for Firefox, your pages load differently than they would without the add-on. This turns negative attention to you, the user. If you have a Skype Add-on for Firefox, and still have your trading pass, disable it every time you are using gaia.

~An interesting thought pointed out by other Mewsie, if you are a gifter or a donor and give away a lot of items, it would seem that you are giving away "tainted" or "unclean" items(hacked, scammed, botted) to other users. If you like to donate, limit your donations to only a few per day.

First off to answer the questions you posed:

2. How long did you wait until it was given back to you? Still going, nearly at 1 year now.

I'd be thoroughly annoyed if this also happened to the 1 mule I bothered to make some odd years ago. Seeing as he (yes it's a male gaia character, though I am female in real life, do no hate me over it) is now my only real source for items, and sale of any goods he happens across... since I can't do anything about the tons of stuff just sitting on this one, unless I trash it all.

This has not happened to me, but a close friend of mine (to be blunt) had her trading pass disabled, and then her account was banned- all because a friend of hers traded 14mil to her account when he decided to leave Gaia.

I was surprised when she told me what happened to her account, and I'm not sure if Gaia can renew her account or not, but they should at least consider it because she's not a bad person, and she donated hundreds of dollars towards Gaia to buy Gaia Cash and then she was banned.
Blasphemy, I say.
