I can't help it, I'm a sucker for a good sci-fi/fantasy-romance. Some of my favourites are:

Law of the Wolf Tower
Biting the Sun/Drinking Sapphire Wine
The Silver Metal Lover
Metallic Love

All by Tanith Lee. The highlighted ones are particularly good. Tanith is probably my favourite author. heart

Tanith Lee is good, but there's better out there. I like Katharine Kerr, Jane Yolen, Cynthia Voigt, Dan Simmons, etc...

I haven't read Twilight - all I can say is I'm glad you're not a rabid fan who lets it take over your life (and my threads)!!!!!!

I put off reading it because of the hype... the same with Harry Potter. xd Also, I don't mind Rob Patterson being cast as Edward in the movie... but now when I read the books, I longer see the image of Edward I'd already formulated, I see the movie version. Annoying! gonk

Yeah, that's the problem with movies. I'm scared that they're someday going to finally make a movie out of my favorite sci-fi series and ruin everything I have in my head about all the characters. I've got entire planets in my head from this series, I don't want to have a film version messing that all up! Then again, I really want to see how they would adapt it for the screen, since it's such an amazing series that I don't think they could do it justice, but it would be totally interesting to see how the director interpreted the books, and how it differs from my own interpretation and vision.

You should try reading some of the Tanya Huff books, those are great vampire/romance ones. I've got most of hers, she's one of my favorite authors.

I should, there's many authors I need to start reading. For now I need to finish the Twilight series, and then read book 7 of HP. sweatdrop

I haven't decided if I want to try the Twilight ones or not yet. I finished all 7 HP books and we have the first 5 movies on DVD, I tend to feel like watching them every once in awhile. Can't wait til the next HP movie, but it's not til summer 2009. Don't remember which month I think it's August.

I already read all the HP books, I was just re-reading them all at once... well, I was, until I got my hands on Twilight and then just couldn't put it down. So now I still need to re-read HP7. Then I have lots of "new" (new for me, but written in the 70's I think) Tanith books.
I should finish "The Last Empress", I stopped reading it in the middle about 2 years ago and haven't picked it up since. Same with "Princess Masako". Why do some books just end up boring me? gonk

I need to re-read the HP books to see what was changed or left out.
