Why hello there, stranger-

welcome to FISHBOWL, toxiin Rose's pet fish store! here you will find a variety of fish, all ready for you to buy and take home as pets! unlike any other fish, these fish don't need to be fed to live! they also live forever, so you no longer have to wake up in the morning worried about your favorite pet. there's a variety of colors and types to choose from, so your new fish will be exactly as you wanted it!

8MAY08 - UPDATES AND NEW RULES
All current orders (minus 2 that were being fixed) have been ready for pickup on page 15. My computer may be needing to go into the shop, so expect an announcement of (dare I say it...staff?) soon, as well as updates on how things are going. Also, due to some non-paying issues, some new rules are in effect. Everyone must now confirm and accept your trades before work will begin on your orders. I will not accept any trades until your orders are completed...nor will I begin work on your orders until you have confirmed your trade. All orders have a maximum of 1 week (with no trade) before I will cancel the order (and if needed, push you to the back of the queue). If I am having computer problems (or have otherwise become stuck), after 1 month's time, I will discount your order appropriately (and have you resend trade). I'm sorry to have to do this, but I've had too many orders go unaccepted (via trade) when the orders have been completed.

29APR08 - ORDERS BEING WORKED ON
After my short vacation (and seeing that my computer seems to be working alright again) I will be working on orders and posting them sometime this evening. Every order that has yet to be completed from pages 9-15 will get a trade back of 500g for having to wait so long for their orders to be posted. ONLY orders on these mentioned pages will be getting the discount.

8/9APR08 - FIXING COMPUTER
I'm sorry for the delays on orders as of late; I'm having to possibly reinstall much of my software due to some weird problem on my computer (that I haven't quite figured out yet). I'll keep you all updated but it will likely be another couple of days before everything is fixed.

5APR08 - NEW YEAR'S UPDATES
For everyone waiting for the New Year's Fish to grow, I am waiting to hear back from toxiin on those fish (I believe she was going to grow them) and so I am waiting for hear back from her on that fact. I am also considering doing a "Slot-System" for orders and doing major updates every Thursday night or so (kinda like a growing night) as I do not work on Fridays and have time to get things done. I have added a poll for this, so please let me know what you think.

17MAR08 - MOVED AGAIN?!
Due to the fact that I didn't get the mule a trading pass (and for the fact that I'm normally bad about checking mules), I moved the thread under my main account. Expect much faster reply times (work does still get in the way, of course) but things should be happening much faster now. Also, added a note about trading in the trading section.

More fish types = good, right? Well, FISHBOWL has now introduced a new breed of fish - slightly smaller, and less space-demanding. You even can fit two of these little beauties into a small fishbowl! SMALLFISH come in eight different colors, and will be a permanent addition to the store. New variations may come out later, so keep an eye out!

also known as Xiin - which, if you take out one of the "i"s, makes "xin"... in mandarin "xin" means heart. /ramble. i am is currently attending college. studying something called "business" (yeah, i'm not sure what exactly that is, either) and communications. loves graphic design & illustration. wants gaia gold and collectibles. very definitely bribable.

good with illustrator and photoshop, likes fish but can't keep them in dorms. seriously, what else do you want to know?



_____THE FISHBOWL
started in december 07, the idea came to me in november when i was doing a design project that involved drawing a million fish. why not do a fish shop? as far as i know, there are no other fish shops quite like this one on gaia (correct me if i'm wrong.) the name FISHBOWL came quite naturally... i am not the most creative person when it comes to names.

all the fish here were drawn and colored in illustrator CS2 - if that means nothing to you don't worry about it :] - making them highly customizable. all the images and graphics and fish.. etc. that you see here in this shop are made by me, toxiin, straight from my own mind. like i mentioned before, please do not steal.

because i am only running FISHBOWL for fun, to see how successful it could potentially be, the prices are not ridiculously high. infact, they're very reasonable. so feel free to take a look around, shop, and take home your new pet fish!

a note on customization...
since customizing a fish's shape means designing and redrawing the entire template from scratch, highly customized fish are quite expensive. but because i will never use that template again, your fish will really be wholly unique.

_____it's all quite easy, really...
just follow the step by step instructions and explanations and it'll all make sense!

1. decide who you're buying fish for. (yourself, someone else? - if someone else, you can buy a giftcard!)
2. pick your fish - or fishes
3. pick a home for your fish
4. pick any accessories you'd like for your fish
5. fill out the order form
6. do the math, calculate the price
7. submit form by posting it in this thread
8. start a trade with Thornless Rose with the correct amount (and accept it; Thornless Rose will not accept their end of the trade until your order is finished. *your order will not be started on until you accept the trade)
9. Thornless Rose/FishyBowl will PM the finished product to you. right click, "save image as..." and save to your computer.
________you will have to upload it onto your own server or space to display it on gaia or anywhere else.

_____GIVING FISH TO SOMEONE ELSE

(yay! you're giving someone a present! thumbs up to you :] )

if you are buying for someone else, they will get their fish in a fishbag like the image to your left. you can also chose to give your gifts anonymously, or have your name shown in the PM that the recipient will receive.

IF YOU WISH TO GIVE YOUR GIFT ANONYMOUSLY - you may send the order via PM. this is the only time you can do so... D: please put the title of your PM as FISHBOWL - anonymous order! so i know what's going on!

i will PM them for you, letting them know that they've received a pet fish and also giving them instructions on the proper care of their pet. they will also be able to buy additional accessories for their pet from this store. when you originally purchase the fish to give as gift, you have the option to also pay for their accessories, or you can let the recipient of your awesome gift purchase their own. if you are paying for their accessories as well, the amount you are paying will be shown in the form of a giftcard, like this:

giftcards can also be bought individually without purchasing a fish. just use the appropriate form!
pst - don't bother trying to take the giftcard and edit it to use for yourself... i keep track of what i give out :]

a note on fish...
fish need space to move! you cannot cram a million fish into a tiny fishbowl and expect them to survive. therefore, there are limits to the numbers of pet fish you can have in a fishbowl.

- a large fishbowl can hold three units of fish.
- a small fishbowl can hold one unit of fish.

"units" are the method of measurement we'll be using to calculate whether or not there is enough room for your fish. a large fish will equal one unit, while a small fish will equal 0.5 of a unit. this means, in a small fishbowl, you can either have two small fish, or one big one. make sense? if not, see the FAQ.


NEW! FISH TYPE: SMALLFISH
_____all SMALLFISH are 300g each. they count as half a unit (0.5) each - meaning you can fit two into a small fishbowl!



FISH TYPE: GOLDFISH
_____all GOLDFISH are 500g each. they count as one unit each.



FISH TYPE: COLORFISH
_____all COLORFISH* are 500g each. they count as one unit each.



(NOTE -> CUSTOMIZED COLORFISH are temporarily unavailable as Rose's speciality tanks have yet to arrive...*aka working on getting the fish files working on my computer*)

* COLORFISH can be customized. you can chose to alter the color of the fins and/or body. indicate in your order form what color you would like the fins/body to be.
_____CUSTOMIZED COLORFISH are 1000g each.

a note on the peripherals...
you do not need to buy any of these accessories and bowls, but they do make life easier and better for your pet fish!
also, you can buy your fish now and change/add accessories later on if you wish. there is an order form to do this. a fee of 100g will be charged everytime you want a modification made to your fishbowl and fish. please also note, however, that once bought, there will be no refund for the item even if you wish to remove it from your fishbowl.


FISHBOWLS
although it is not necessary to buy a fishbowl, your fish will come to you in a fishbag if you don't buy a home for it. you also need a fishbowl in order to buy any other accessories.

_____FISHBOWLS are 250g for a small, and 500g for a large. you must buy a large if you have more than one unit of fish.



FISHSAND
_____all types of FISHSAND is 200g. you can only pick one if you chose to have sand in your fishbowl.



SEAWEED
_____these are 100g each. you can put as many tufts of seaweed into your fishbowl as you want.



BAUBLES
to order, put in something like this: "heart 1 x3, ball 4 x2.." you can put as many baubles as you like in your fishbowl, but you can only pick up to three types of baubles.

MOODBUBBLES
a fish can only feel one emotion at a time! you may only pick one MOODBUBBLE per fish.

What will happen with the New Year's Fish? Mine hasn't grown yet! scream

- Unfortunately, toxiin has yet to inform me of when/what she planned to grow the fish in and has been extremely busy at the moment. When I do hear about the New Year's Fish growing, I will be sure to make an annoucement.

Why do I have to accept the trade first?

Unfortunately, I have had a rash of people not accepting trades after their orders have been completed and have had to do this to ensure that people both get their orders as quickly as possible and that I am paid for the work asked of me. If this situation changes, I may edit this rule.

Where will my order be located at?

Originally, toxiin delivered each order to their PM box, but due to the quantity of orders I felt it would be quicker to post the orders within the thread.
