Deftones have a lot of personal songs that I can relate to, and some have helped me gotten through rough days and some songs also made great background music to good times.

The attitude their characters have and the way they just don't give a s**t inspired me to be more confident when I first started listening to them.
It's kind of silly, but when you take life really seriously and are introduced to a band that doesn't give a s**t, it can help make some serious changes

Dream Evil saved my life, I was drowning in a river and they just pulled me on their boat and told me "You are the chosen one, you must fight the dragon". Since they saved my life I had no choice but to do what the asked.

Later on they wrote this song about me.
