It turns out you CAN get diamond charms from Kindred Wilds! I just managed to get one, on stage 4. I don't know if the rewards differ per stage but I thought I'd be more specific in case anyone was curious.

The RIG Fallen Star (part of the Milky Way caspule) also drops star/heart charms. I don't think it drops diamonds, but... it's good to know they are available in-game. That's something!
