Forum Advice
Since Lake Kindred is no longer in the Hot Topics section of Gaia, some of the previous rules about what threads are allowed here have changed. Gaia doesn't have an updated rule section for the forum sadly. There is also some general advice thrown in here as well, touching on certain subjects that happen around the forum.
Buying, Selling, & Trading
These three types of threads are actually not allowed in the Lake Kindred forum. These threads actually belong in the Game Item Exchange forum. The Lake Kindred forum is a pretty slow forum and the above threads do not provide any discussion to the forum. You're better of making those threads in the Game Item Exchange forum as there will most likely be sellers and buyers in need of Lake Kindred Kin and items there. If you see a thread that is buying, selling, or trading in the forum please report it as misplaced. It's also a good idea not to try to buy or sell Kin in guide threads or quest threads. It is considered extremely rude to post in those threads asking to buy or sell a Kin.
Begging
It's not something you should do. If you're new to the forum, take the time to look around for some giveaway threads. There are always plenty of threads helping newbies out! If someone makes a thread begging, asking, or demanding Kin, then you should not give them anything. Point them towards the various giveaway threads in the forum. The same should be said for people that spam in random threads begging for a Sakura or other Sycamorte killers.
Personal Updates/Tracking
Personal update/tracking threads are a welcomed thing in the forum. If you enjoy having a place to update about your latest achievements in Lake Kindred, then you should create a singular thread. Constantly making separate update threads clutters the forum a bit and pushes guides and other useful threads off the front page. Making too many update threads with a few days could possibly be considered spam. So please consider making a single thread for your updates!
Kin Shaming/Bashing
I haven't seen this happen in a while, but it's still something that needs to be addressed. Kin shaming/bashing is not a nice thing to do. Everyone has their own opinions about each Kin and that is perfectly fine! But if you're taking the time to post how a Kin is garbage, horrible, etc in a thread, then you need to take a step back. While you might not like the Kin, there are others that do like that Kin and seeing such posts can really upset people. If you don't like a Kin, please be considerate before you post and not bash on it in a thread.
Recommending Kin
This comes up a lot with newer players. While recommending Sakura, Watermeat, or Ambitious might seem like a good idea, it might be better to start off smaller. Not all new players coming to Lake Kindred have billions of gold to splurge on Kin. So when you recommend these powerhouses, you should also suggest some cheaper alternatives until the player gets high enough to be able to use/afford them. Cheaper alternatives are things that you can usually get in-game such as Vulcarus, Chocolate Cow or Soldier Mouse.
Nerfs! Nerfs everywhere!
This seems to be an issue that comes and goes within this forum. People have a bad time in Lake Kindred, Sycamortes aren't dropping gold as often, Sycamortes are showing up as often, or even skills don't seem to be hitting as hard as they should be. So people cry nerf, saying that the staff have gone and messed with Lake Kindred. It's common to get frustrated at a game, but always thinking the staff is out to get you isn't good. When people start to say something is nerfed, without proper proof or data, this causes a panic. This panic leads to people of the forum to not trust our staff and makes for a toxic kind of environment. Everyone experiences a bad time in Lake Kindred and everyone's luck is different. So if you're having a bad time in Lake Kindred, then take a step back and take a break. When there are major changes to Lake Kindred, the staff usually let us know.
