Welcome to Gaia! ::

Eliot wanted to hit the guy upside the head so bad. He held a firm blush on his face and a cherry stem hanging out of his mouth while he watched the male walk out the door. 'Such a tease, and he probably doesn't even realize it. Thats one thing I hate about Pures.' Eliot pulled the stem out of his mouth and tossed it on the table. He then began to pick up all the dirty dishes and chewed on his cherry that he was so 'gracishly' given. Thats when Eliot noticed the Hundred dollar bill lieing on the table. Eliot picked it up and looked out the door. He smiled to himself and put the money in his pocket. 'Tsk. Another thing I hate about them. Dropping money everywhere like its litter. Oh well, more money for me.' Eliot took the dishes to the back and paid the male's bill for him. After that, he stuck the rest of the money in his pocket and began the readt of his work.

Eliot walked out the back of the cafe and headed off towards the grocery store. When his shift ended in the cafe, he went to the bathroom and changed into his other work clothes. He couldn't wait to get hsi shift over with so he could go home and sleep. Thank goodness that the grocery store wasn't far from the cafe and wasn't far from his apartment. Infact, it was only a 15 minute walk from the cafe so it was deffently not far.

Walking into the grocery store, Eliot walked to the back and put his things in his locker. He then went and signed in and headed towards all the boxes. He grabbed a sheet of paper that told him what he was to stack for the night then grabbed the load he needed. He pushed the cart out into the store and walked over the the meat department. He could see that their wasn't many people in the store at this time of night. He liked that since he often had to deal with people at the cafe. Its nice to have a break. Eliot turned to his boxes and began unloading the goods out of them while humming to himself.

Story:

In a bleak and distant future, where a disease ravaged the world, there is one thing more precious than life; death. More specifically the Undead. Vampires, hunted for centuries, rose to the top once more as humanity succumbed to the sickness named the "Flower", named as such because the infected human will turn a pale green, signifying the poison spreading through the body and destroying the veins, disabling the blood vessels and weakening the bones. When the virus reaches its apex, the "Bud" or infected green human vessel,it bursts the heart, opening the chest area in a macabre parody of a flower bud blooming.

In a state of low moral values, after the existence of Vampires was confirmed, a fledgling was taken from their Sire and experimented upon. The fledgling was never reported to be left alive or dead. The Scientists however, had successfully extracted and "bottled" the Vampyre Strand, a different type of virus that if injected strait to the heart, would give the human recipient the Vampire's immunity to the virus, a slight intolerance to the sun and a small boost in overall strength. It is costly, and thus only the rich have been able to purchase it. Third world countries rioted, while the super powers of the world finished their war over who would buy off the limited supply of Vampyre Strand.

The stolen Fledgling caused an uproar in Vampire society, leading them to cut off any effort in helping the floundering humanity. They lived among the humans, uncaring of the dead bodies that littered the streets everyday or of the rift between the Vampire sympathizers and the Vampire haters in every City. The continual atom bombs launched around the world created a huge cloud of debris basking the day in perpetual grey light, making it safer for Vampires to roam outside during the day.

The world has now been classified into four groups:

The Pures- They are the strongest often called Lord, Lady, Marquis, Marquise, Mistress, or Master as they came about their ancestry by being born to both Vampire parents.

Vamps- average vampires who were bitten and were granted immortality. They are respected in vampires society, making up the bulk of it, a middle class compared to the low-class Rouges- vampires who have no control over their urges and bloodlust.

Hybrid- a human who took the vampire anitvirus and wasn't rejected by his own body.

Humans- who couldn't afford the shot and whose only hope of survival is the traditional way of becoming vampire, by draining all your blood out and then drinking a vampire's blood.

"Please!"
"Marquis Ruin!"
"Oh my beating heart!"
Ruin, as usual, went about his business signing in at the front desk. The women being held back by security, or in the case of the last one, who had fainted, being held up by security. He wasted five seconds of his time to sneer over at them in a clear dismissal. They were surely daughters of a lower hybrid Vassal or "lower masters" as they were nicknamed, begging him to Bite them.
'Tch. There's no need to dirty the Vampire race anymore. We've got enough Rouge's doing that already.' He thought glancing down at his bag as he headed towards the elevator. He flicked his head, sending spikes of silver hair out of his piercing red eyes. Another woman sent a high pitched giggle that grated on his senses. He looked over, his fingerless red gloved hand absentmindedly pressing the up button, as he met eyes with the one that squealed like a pig ready for slaughter.
Using the entrancing mesmerizing abilities that Pures seemed to posses some measure of, his eyes flashed, making the woman stop movement and punch the one next to her in her hypnotized state. Giving way to an all out cat fight.
'Pathetic.' The dinging of the elevator and the swishing of doors seemed to agree with him.
-
"It seems, Ruin, that every week you come here a riot of some sort seems to break out in my Lobby." Annoyed silver eyes met him as he stepped onto the top floor of the 60 floor building. He followed the man, saying nothing. It was true after all. That annoying secretary, Jeanne...Jen...Jenny? had probably phoned the man after he stepped into the elevator.
His pale gold hair was hastily pulled into a low pony tail at the nape of his neck, the strait strands reaching his lower back, signifying a stressful day. Three spiky bangs jutted out from his hairline, covering his right eye slightly, his build a bulkier own than his own. Ragnor, a name he would never forget, was a comforting sight after dealing with all the idiots that traversed outside of his home.
"How was it?" Ragnor nodded towards the bag he had on him.
"He was reported to have killed three children and two teens." Ruin paused, Ragnor nodded to continue, pouring a glass of scotch. It wasn't blood but he was working anyway."I found five more unidentified cadavers, young females by the looks of it."
Ragnor sighed, more work for him. "Ah. I'll see to it that the families are notified and compensated." He smiled, taking the bag from Ruin, who had stood, forgoing the chair. "Good work, Marquis Ruin." He handed him his pay.
Ruin snatched it and scoffed, already lazily making his way to the elevator. "Don't call me that Lord Ragnor the a**hole."
He was ushered out by a booming laugh unique to the Lord.
Today was going to be a busy day for Eliot. He was going to work at two of his jobs. First he was at the cafe till about 9 at night, since he was doing a double shift, then he was to go to the grocery store and stock tonight. If he got done fast he would be home by 12 and then would be able to go to sleep before he had to be back up at the cafe again. It was going to be a long day. So Eliot slung his sheets off of him and then got up. He stretched his body and headed towards his bathroom to take a shower. Eliot actually had a decent size appartment for someone like him. He has to pay for it of course and that tended to take a lot of his money that he was saving. Oh well, got to live.

After his shower, Eliot quickly changed into his uniform for the cafe. He always thought the Twilight Zone, was kind of a weird name for a cafe but whatever floats the owner's boat. The uniform was simple black slacks, white button up shirt, a red vest and a black tie. He had to admit though, it looked damn good on him. He quickly put on his black shoes and walked over to his duffle bag to put in an exxtra pair of clothes, and his uniform for the grocery store. After that, he made sure he had his things and walked out the door.

The cafe was about a thirty minute walk from his apartment, whiched worked out great for him. He wouldn't have to take a bus all the time. Of course when it rained he had to. When he reached the cafe, he walked to the back and put his duffel bag in his locker then went to sign in. He grabbed his booklet and checked what tables he was taking care of today. Once that was done, he went to go tend to his guests.

After glaring threateningly at the secretary, 'What the hell was her name again?' Ruin paused at the door, waiting for the men in white to pass him by, between them they carried a stained white body bag. 'Another one bites the dust.' He shrugged, not his problem. Humans were weak, not their fault; just the way things were. Better to suck it up and continue on.
Glancing at the grey sky, he headed to the quaint cafe that he had heard about through Ragnor. He had nothing better to do until another Rouge decided to kill more humans or fellow vampires. He decided to unbuckle his collar and pull down his zipper halfway. Usually he had a wife beater under, but he had been in a hurry this morning.
"Marquis Ruin."
He seethed, damn there goes his nice day. He turned, looking at the pale man. "If I may have only a moment of your time?" This man knew Politics, the intricate dance of words sharper than blades, strings binding people tighter than titanium ever could. You had to dance carefully and politely if only to survive a conversation with him.
"No, f*ck off."
At least if you gave a damn about politics and social standing. Reaching the cafe, he glanced at the sign. 'Twilight Cafe huh? Someone had some sense of humor.' Back in the Bright Ages, Vampires went by twilight to make their schedules. At nocturnal twilight, they went out to feed and at dawn they went to sleep.
Entering his eyes were immediately attracted to the tempting red flashing about the room. Red was such a beautiful color.
It was a slow day. Not many poeple were coming in today. He didn't know why usually there was a lot of people that came in, in the morning. Oh well it would probably pick up pace towards lunch. Walking to the back, Eliot ran his fingures through his red hair and waited for his order's to come out. He grabbed a tray and placed them on it as soon as they came out. He placed the tray on his shoulder and supported it with his arm. He walked out of the back and blinked when he saw a silver-haired man at the door. He smiled at the man. "I will be right with you sir." He quickly turned on his heel and took the food over to the couple at one of the booths. Once that was done, Eliot placed the tray down on the counter in the back.

Eliot walked over to the man and bowed to him. "Right this way sir." He smiled at the man and took him towards a booth in the back. "Welcome to the Twilight Zone. If this is your first time here, the menu is full of wonderful choices and if you have any questions I will be glad to help you out. I will be your waiter today. My name is Eliot. Would you like to start out with a drink or appitizere. If you need a few minutes decideding I can come back later." Eliot hated saying that. He felt like he was a robotfrom saying it so much.

Keeping his attention on the waiter, Ruin scanned over the menu. He flicked his hair out of his face, a gesture so repetitive it was second nature now. His red eyes rested on something he had been meaning to try.
"The appetizer, this." He pointed to the color picture of sliced fried bananas. "As for my drink..." He looked up into green eyes, a petite face and tresses of red hair. No obviously entrancing beauty so the kid must be a human. 'But....' The kid was far from ugly, Ruin would give him that.
"Water." He said simply. And he sat back completely ignoring the kid once more.
Even if his eye wandered often to those red strands of hair, some hanging in front of his face.
Ruin had the passing urge to brush them away.
Tch. He must be working too hard.
Eliot watched the silver haired man and could tell right about that he was a vampire. No human had silver hair, unless old, and no one but actual Pures had red eyes. Eliot hat to admit the male was very handsome for a vampire. When the male pointed to a picture, Eliot leaned over and gazed at it to see what it was. He then nodded his head and wrote it down. When the male said he wanted water, Eliot couldn't hel but think that the male was so plain. Who orders water? It was so... yuck! Eliot shrugged it off and wrote down the male's request. He then bowed to the male and smiled. "It will be right out sir."

Eliot stood back up and blew his bangs out of his face. He frowned to himself when that didn't work but decided to just let it be for now. He would go put his hair up soon anyways. Eliot turned on his heel and left the male to himself. As he walked by a table, he stopped when some girls asked for something to drink. Eliot turned to them and gave them a smile. He flipped the page in his book and began to right down their requests. They made sure to take their time getting their drinks right but when he was done with them, he quickly made his leave and headed to the back to place the orders.

Eliot took down a tray from the counter and began to fill all the drink orders while he waited for the vampire's food. It didn't take him long to get the five drinks done and when he was done with them, the food was done as well. Eliot scooted everything around to fit all the drinks and food and made his way back to the tables. He dropped of the girl's drinks to them first then walked back over to the male. He placed the drink and food down infront of the male then smiled at him. "Are you ready to order your main course or do you want me to come back?"

Ruin sneered at the giggling masses of women. 'Disgusting. Openly ogling the kid like some cheap whores...' His phone beeped and he glanced at it. Ragnor. Honestly, that man was so paranoid, it was a wonder the Lord let him out of his sight.
He relayed his meeting with the haughty Vassal outside his Lord's building. What was his name? Kikki...Kale...Kain? Yeah Kain.
Stowing him cell back as the waiter came with the water and dish, he set them down and Ruin didn't give them a passing glance, ordering his eyes to not stray to those red locks as he ordered the steak. Medium.
There was no need to started the humans, beside the scrape with the Rouge from earlier had left him sore, with bruises on his back from an embarrassing mistake he had made. Not to mention he still tasted the others disgusting blood from when he had ripped the others throat out.
".." He said nothing as the waiter left.
This guy annoyed Eliot so much. He liked when his customers talked to him some but this guy was just plain ignoring. Eliot wrote down the male's order and walked off. He walked over to the girls and of course, they needed help in what to choose. Eliot explained each of the items they picked out and waited patiently for them to order their food. It took about ten minutes but they finally decided and Eliot quickly wrote it down. With that done, Eliot took the order's to the bacl and waited for them to be done.

Of course the male's was done first, so he took the food and walked back to the male. He smiled at him and placed down his food. "Here you go sir. Enjoy your food. If you need anything please tell me." He bowed to the male and headed to the back to get the rest of his orders. He needed to get the girl's their food. Once he did that, he went to the back and just watched his guests to see when they would be done. After a whil, he walked back to the male and smiled at him. "How was your food sir? Would you like any dessert?"

He watched the kid, devouring his meal. It wasn't blood, but it would do. His mind drifted off to what he would spend the rest of his time doing.
Nothing came up. He'll just have to wait until the next Rouge popped up and started slaughtering humans. His eyes looked around, how the humans and hybrids that were slowly filling up the restaurant laughed and chatted amiably. He felt out of place. He belonged in the midst of a battle, or stalking prey. Not sitting in this quaint little restaurant!
He was about to leave but the green eyed kid came back and offered him dessert. He had irritated him earlier by not talking. Boohoo.
Ah, well. At least the kid was polite, he was too used to being around the disdainful Pures, who looked down at him for his chosen profession. Only because he was actually helping his Lord, by doing something useful instead of lazying around in a mansion doing nothing and acting like they were the best thing since Vampyrism.
He came back into focus as the kid stared patiently at him, waiting for his order.
"Root beer float with whiskey."
It was a strange drink, but he preferred it over regular ice cream.
Eliot lifted his eye brow and smirked at the man. He wrote down his order then left. He walked by the girls and took up their plates then headed to the back. He plated the plates in the large sink and walked over to where he made the drinks. He quickly watched his hands and began to make the gentlemans dessert drink. To be a little silly, he added a paper unbrella and a cherry ontop of it. He couldn't help but giggle to himself. He took the drink out and walked over to the table of girls. He placed down their bill and gave them a wink. Hey, whatever got him a better tip.

Eliot walked over to the vamp and placed down the males drink. He gave him a smile and stepped back. He had been wondering why this Pure was in here, this whole time. He naver seen one in here before and it kinda shocked him. Usually Pures were up in mansions, away from others since they were so high and mighty. Eliot couldn't help but bite his lip and fiddle with a strand of hair. "Um.. I hope you don't mind me asking but why are you in here? We never get Pures in here since this isn't what you could consider 'High Quality'. It just seems a little strange to have one here now. Not that I mind you being here. I think its great that you came, but I am quiet curious."

Ruin scowled, kid smiles too damn much to those women. He completely disregarded the fact that the waiter, Eliot, his mind supplied, smiled at him as well. Surprised he blinked.
Eliot.
Eliot.
ELIOT.
"Eliot..." He purred, the memory of the name fresh. Strange. He never remembered, names completely bypassed him. He looked up to those shockingly green eyes. " To ask such information from someone whom you've barely met. "He swirled his drink before downing it in one gulp. "How bold."
He quickly tired of his own evasive answers, and twirled the umbrella in his drink amusedly. "I don't bother with what other Pures consider the 'norm'" he scoffed, "Its all a bunch of bullsh*t anyway." Standing he cracked his neck languidly, looking down slightly at the waiter. His rambling was cute, Ruin took his uneaten cherry and before the waiter could react stuck it into Eliot's mouth. "I find the service here to be more...appealing."And with that he nodded and exited the cafe.
Not before leaving a hundred bill on the table. 'I think I'll come back next week. Nice place, good food and tastier waiters.' Ruin thought absentmindedly before jumping to the rooftops to get to his place quicker.
