Friendly Shapeshifter

It had been several days now since he and Eli had first met Cass, and things were surprisingly quiet. The young teen made for a good house guest, and as far as he could tell she hadn't suffered from any major visions in her time over as she had a few days back. The cheetah Hyte did occasionally notice her getting rather far-away looks though, and had to wonder whether she was seeing small visions, or simply spacing out. Perhaps it was a combination of the two.

Regardless, as they were discussing current movies and potential movies yet to come, she spaced out a bit again, and Seth decided he may as well ask this time. Once her eyes appeared a bit more focused again, he asked, "Got another vision?"

Fashionable Prophet

"Mmm," Cass said, blinking. Ever since she'd actually met Seth and Eli, she'd been flashing a lot more in general, though really only small visions. Some of it was Empire-related. Some of it was Amaranth-related. Then there were the bits and pieces that she wasn't quite sure "where" (or rather, "when" ) they belonged... This one, even if she wasn't sure of the exactly-when, it certainly wasn't the first time she'd seen the Angortah twins. Were they coming soon? It wasn't always apparent the timing of them, if they came before the Empire or after Amaranth or in between somewhere. The timing could even vary, from vision to vision--the hazard of seeing multiple futures. It was easy enough to deal with now, but it also wasn't difficult to envision the day it would become overwhelming. At least that time was far off from the present, Cassandra knew that much.

"Your family likes to pop up often." It was probably safe to tell him that much; he had to know she'd be aware of that sort of thing. She half-wondered if maybe staying at Seth's wasn't triggering some of the visions--she wasn't really sure if places could hold future-memories. Certainly Aikatyrine's past Sight was mostly dependent on location, so there could be a correlation...
"Oh?" Seth replied, blinking. That certainly hadn't been an answer that he was expecting. "Which part of the family?" Cause really, 'your family' was quite vague. It could involve anything back at home with his mom and rest, the Cottage folk (who he basically considered family, even aside from his tie through Dacj), or any future family he and Dacj may have of their own some day. Which was certainly an interesting thought, but one he wasn't going to concentrate too heavily on. He had a feeling such a thing was a long ways off still, if it was ever fortunate to even come about in the first place.

Fashionable Prophet

"The spoilery future bit," Cass replied with a smile, amused that she seemed to have surprised him. And how much more surprised would he be, if he really knew what she was seeing... "I think the place might have something to do with it. Or maybe not? I guess I wasn't paying much attention to the background..." Did he live here very long? All the staff had quarters at Amaranth but Dacj at least certainly didn't sleep there--she complained (would complain?) about being "too easily accessible." Perhaps Seth was the same way and preferred to keep someplace like this? Though he'd probably eventually want a spare bedroom or two accessible for the kids...? Ah, it was all so much trouble to try and figure out ahead of time. "At any rate, I don't mind getting previews. I like your children."
His children? "Ah, I see." Admittedly, the confirmation that there would be children in the future made him quite glad, though he tried (and likely failed) not to show it too much. He guessed that if she saw them as often as she was indicating, then perhaps she herself would know them well? It was tough to say really, considering how her visions weren't always very specific. "I suppose if or when kids eventually come onto the scene I'd try to find a place a bit bigger than this," he mused, doubting that she'd have seen them here. After all, this place only had the one bedroom.

Fashionable Prophet

Cass shrugged. "You probably know as well as I do, strange as that sounds for a Seer to say," she said with another faint smile. It didn't take an empath to know he was pleased, though it certainly helped that Cass had seen that particular sort of look from Seth in a vision or two before. "Aikatyrine's retrocognition is tied to place; I'm not really sure if precognition is, or can be. I know we can be set off by certain words or experiences--those're usually the Voice visions. That's more, something's sort of leaking through...hmm, reality? And it can trigger a warning. Flashes are far more comfortable. More useful too, really." After all, she had a pretty good idea of Amaranth's future dealings, and that came in handy...anticipation, if nothing else. "Though in the end I don't think anyone, you or anyone from the Cottage, is really lacking for space, one way or another..." Amaranth was enormous, really. "In spite of the size of the extended family."
"Perhaps it could be tied to specific people?" Seth suggested. After all, she'd had her last major vision after first spotting him and Eli, and she was currently seeing flashes of his kids, so... "Or maybe just to circumstances in general. It's tough to say." Maybe there wasn't even a specific trigger to them at all. The last part about space was rather interesting though. "The Cottage is a good size, but I don't think it can house much more than it already has," he replied with a small smile. At least not the way that it currently was, but that could always be changed. Regardless, however, he couldn't ever really see himself living there either. Visiting was nice, but at the end of the day it was best that everyone have their own space.

Fashionable Prophet

"Mm, could be people." It didn't entirely explain Kicchan and Kitten...well, through Eli, sort of. Certainly Kicchan and Eli had a lot to do with one another, even if they weren't blood-related...

"I'm not really talking about the Cottage," Cass replied with a purposefully mysterious smile. She imagined he'd probably think of the Empire, if he tried to guess. It was hard to see Amaranth coming unless you were a Seer--especially since the Vault hadn't been discovered yet. Without all those bodiless Ti'ama, there were few reasons to open up the academy...

Friendly Shapeshifter

Seth had to arch an eyebrow at this remark. Someone certainly enjoyed teasing about the future... Let's see, what information did he already know... "Is this somehow related to the 'Headmaster' bit?" That still amused him a little, though he honestly couldn't envision what would happen to make Eli a principle of a school. Especially not one in which he was referred to as a headmaster instead of a principle. Interesting times ahead, he supposed.

Fashionable Prophet

"It's a good thing I realized you might be listening in or else who knows what kinds of spoilers you'd've ended up with," Cass said, only grinning at Seth's retort. "At any rate, it's not like Eli lets anyone else uses any of his other titles..." If a vision with Akios rattling off a few of them was any indication, the kuppy managed to amass several over the course of the Empire-business. "I guess 'Headmaster' is sort of a compromise."

Friendly Shapeshifter

Other titles, eh? Considering that many in Phanes seemed to be under the impression that Eli was the object of several prophecies, he didn't doubt that the kuppy had already amassed a few titles. "Sorry about that. It was the easiest way to look for you, so..." Of course, he probably should have stopped listening after they found her, but with the strength of the vision that had taken place, he had wanted to make sure she was alright first.

Fashionable Prophet

"I don't mind you listening necessarily; I trust you." Even though she'd hardly known him more than a couple days in reality...well, she had no problem trusting Seth and the other Hytes. She knew who they'd be, so even now, they were still the same good people... It was they who had to take her words on faith. "It's just I'd hate to ruin too many surprises for you." Or have him dread what was yet to come, in some cases. Cass knew it wasn't going to be an easy time, getting to Amaranth...well, at least now she was in a position to do something about it. "But other things, like warning you of your future band of hooligan offspring, well...that's like a public service announcement."

Friendly Shapeshifter

He was glad that she trusted him, though he wouldn't have blamed her for not wanting him reading her thoughts regardless. "'Hooligan' offspring? That bad, eh?" Perhaps he would have to pull tighter reigns then. Of course, all things considered, a certain amount of shenaniganry was to be expected. Things certainly wouldn't be boring. "Will we be needing to take cover? Or will there just be a lot of shielding involved?" Cause the cheetah Hyte just remembered, with the changes made to his DNA now there was a definite chance that his future children may also develop latent magic. Especially with a Blossom for a mother.

Fashionable Prophet

Well, Contractor for a "mother"--both times, if Ben's nickname had any indication... "I imagine shielding is only so useful, really. Very inventive offspring," Cass said with a chuckle. Though, Seth would only expect the telepathy, wouldn't he? No way of knowing that Eli's empathy would play a part as well...for the Angortahs, anyway. The squidkitties...well, they were a lot more faint to her Sight. "And quite exciting, yes. Kitten is rather fond of her cousins." Half-cousins slash half-brothers. And then the real cousins.
"Will you be good friends with them yourself in the future?" he asked, vaguely amused by all of her hinting around. It reminded him vaguely of someone who had watched a particularly interesting tv series or read a book series and was waiting anxiously for their friends to catch up so that they could finally talk about it. Shame that real time often took much longer to catch up on.
